I called Leo, Jr. yesterday to have the driver's window repaired in a 2006 Buick Lucern. It wouldn't go up or down. He scheduled the repair for the next day at a time that was convenient for me and agreed to use my parts. He made it clear that he could not honor a warranty because he did not secure the parts. In addition, the price was considerably lower than the Buick dealer. Very pleased with my service and will return when needed. read more

We've been taking our cars to Yerena's for the last couple years or so. You will not find a more honest shop in the High Desert...heck in the whole state. I am thoroughly impressed every time I deal with these people and they are not here to take just your money. There have been a few times where they recommended against fixing something and waiting it out based on what they knew the situation to be...no charge. Who does this? I live in Riverside, and do standard car care down here because getting to Hesperia is challenging if the car is having problems. However, I make at least a yearly pilgrimage to Yerena's in Hesperia when it is time to do strategic preventive maintenance or tackle the more involved problems. After all, my RAV4 is 21 years old, with 182,000+ miles that are mostly short trips (that's hard on a car). I plan to drive it for at least another 5 years. Leo is expert in major vehicle subsystems that many mechanics cannot take on, and I have seen times when his problem-solving is literally genius. Subsystems are interconnected in a car, and problems with one component can affect the performance or life cycle of another one. Some people might want a new car every 7 years, and aren't interested in providing for the longevity of their vehicle. The rest of us want a dependable vehicle that will last as long as we need it to last. Leo will recommend whether something is worth fixing, pro and con, and a times has competently repaired a component instead of ordering an expensive replacement. After Leo has worked on my car, I can drive up to places like the Bay Area with confidence in my 21 y/o car. They are a family business, and an honest, hardworking team that is extremely knowledgeable. Also, as a female, I like that Leo and Junior explain the repair in detail as they would for anyone. We took our 2011 Edge to them for an electrical problem with the drivers seat this was done in a timely matter. Also asked about checking the brakes again. We had them done at Master J's in Apple Valley in May, I didn't have the same breaking sensation I was use to. After the examination from Yerena's it turned our to be the ABS Hydraulics that was not properly attended to. They were spot on, I feel we found our mechanic. I kind of got off to a bad start with Yerena's Auto, but that quickly got handled with their amazing customer service. I dropped the car off at 8am after hearing a noise while driving and was told they'll call me when they're able to diagnose it. It just turned 1pm and I hadn't heard back so I went ahead and called and much to my dismay they hadn't gotten to it. I was ready to just get the car and take it elsewhere but Leo apologized for any confusion and said they'll be happy to earn my business. A few hours later, they diagnosed it and gave me a quote. I felt the quote was fair and agreed for them to handle the work. I called multiple times for status updates and they handled all my concerns professionally and more importantly, honestly. When I asked Yerena Jr. for a breakdown of the quote, he had it emailed to me within a few minutes. I'm thankful for that type of transparency and honesty.There was a minor bump in the road with their parts vendor but that's out of Yerena's hands. Their diagnoses was right on the money and now the car feels better while driving. I wanted to thank the entire crew that handled my service request from Jr, Leo and Richard. So I wanted to quickly update my review. A few days ago I was driving and heard a small clunking noise so I stopped by the shop and Leo Jr. had Richard go out on a drive with me so I can point out the noise to him. I had to leave the car overnight but by 11am the next day, they called and let me know the issue was resolved. Very professional and fun family owned business! So glad to find someone who works on European vehicles!! The prices were very reasonable and the staff was easy to work with. I received a quote before the work was performed, Leo called to tell me things had changed slightly (because I'm horrible about maintenance and I needed my trans fluid flushed twice) and the end bill did not sky rocket, which was relieving. They did a thorough inspection on my vehicle as well and found out I needed a couple of extra things, which they already had a quote ready for. Its nice to have a printed copy of what I'm up against price wise. I have been going to Yrenas for a few years now. I used to take my Audi down the hill to have it worked on, until I stumbled upon Yrenas here in Hesperia. I have an Audi TT (daily driver for work) with 321,000 miles on it. Leo Senior has Audi experience. Yerena's now does all of the work on my Audi and she is still going strong! If I could give a zero, I would. I think Yerena's scammed me twice with two different vehicles. My Trailblazer 107k, never had a major problem, went in for a standard oil change. I drove half a block from their shop and threw a rod. They hooked up equipment to diagnose the noise and said it was my timing belt flapping...lol, right. Didn't offer to fix it, just said it wasn't a rod. Took it to my step dad's mechanic who said it definitely threw a rod. I wouldn't know if they forgot to put oil in the first time, because they took it back into the shop, probably to put oil in to cover their butts. My Charger went in for AC servicing. They took it around the back of the shop. Suddenly it developed a problem & wouldn't start. It magically started before AAA came to have it serviced somewhere else. The Dad of this family business, got mad at me for being skeptical. He went straight to saying that he didn't want my business because he doesn't want any more lawsuits. Why would he jump straight to that? Then I called my family to tell them that my car was taken around the back of their shop and now they are saying it won't start and could I have AAA take my car to their mechanic. Their son was listening to my call. Right after I hung up, my car magically started. They thought they were going to blame it on my shifter being out of place, because the car had a recall years earlier for the plastic shift interlock latch, which when broke, it would lock people's cars in park. However, my interlock latch already broke years prior and I got a new metal one for the car. The problem was NOT my interlock latch causing my shifter to be out of place. Funny how it never had problems starting before I went to Yerena's, nor have I had any problems over a year later. Same with the Trailblazer. Never a major problem before Yerena's, go in for an oil change, drive 1/2 block from their shop and it throws a rod? I am sad to say that I feel Yerena's tried to scam me with the Charger, and they did not provide reliable service on my Trailblazer, then lied to cover their butts. Why did I bring my Charger in after the incident with the Trailblazer? Because I wasn't sure who to believe, Yerena's or my step dad's mechanic who would have made a heap repairing my engine. Needless to say, I don't trust mechanics. The charger was scheduled to come in just days after the Trailblazer. I got a third opinion weeks later who confirmed it threw a rod. read more

Everytime I go, my expectations are exceeded and not once have I felt taken advantage of due to my lack of knowledge. They are very clear about what needs to be done, what they recommend be done, and what should be done in the future. Before ever working on my truck, they provided me with a quote, which was nice because I've never had that experience. I drive my car up and down the hill every week so I have put more miles than recommended in short time. Doing so I always want my car up to date and in the best shape. We have been taking our 3 older vehicles there for about a year. Everytime they work on our vehicle something goes wrong. Two months ago I paid LOTS of $ to get my brakes done. Now my brakes are grinding again. I dont even go far with my truck. I brought it in Thurs. Jr said and his father said because I didnt get the more expensive parts that they couldnt guarantee me. Jr said he would call me with an estimate. That never happened. They worked on our Jeep. We gave them about 3,000. They totally messed it up. They have a picture of Jesus hanging by the front desk. They are hypocrites. We are spreading the word, go someplace else. Im taking my truck to Breakmasters...and finding an HONEST mechanic. What goes around comes around Yerena's. read more

I normally don't do reviews, I just go based on others. Anywho, this is my second review on Yelp. Leo Sr. and Leo Jr. are absolute lifesavers. I came in with a broken timing. These people were my first my of coming to, but I took my car to a previous mechanic I've dealt with. The previous mechanic told me it was starter issue that he addressed. Which wasn't the problem. I ended coming out of $300 for something that didn't solve my problem. YERENAS went right to problem and my car was done the same day I brought it in. For those who don't know, a timing belt is a big issue that can cause engine damage. These guys saved my engine and mostly my whole car. And even recommended some stuff that needs to be fixed and to kind of keep my eye on. They're pretty straight forward and stand behind they're word and mostly there work.
