They also have batting cages and go karting, but we didn't play those this time. They also have a cat there, and she was super cute and sweet and let us pet her. Another thing I really appreciated was how there wasn't that many people here. At other mini golf places or pool bars or arcades, there's so many people it feels like you're being crowded, but this was so open and fun. It did get progressively busier by the time it was 8:30 pm because we got there around 6:30, but still way better than other places in terms of crowds. Would definitely come back here again.

The real Birthplace of Texas, Santa Anna surrendered right down the street at the San Jacinto monument. Don't listen to those other guys who claim the same... We caught 'em! We have Parks and recreation that anyone would be ashamed that they didn't take advantage of..... a Community Theatre that I should really look in to. We have a great dog park and regular events for the kids and family. Oh, and a beautiful golf course. One of the most beautiful public golf courses in the nation. The restaurant is currently run by a private contractor, who I think is more interested in the golf than the food (yuk) but when it was run by Jeremy, the city employee it was amazing! I hosted a wedding there, it was gorgeous! And a reception. Both events were beautiful and the food was incredible. The service was wonderful. The city should really get rid of this new contractor and beg Jeremy back. It's an amazing Spanish style building with this huge cannon in front of this long staircase. Would be perfect for all types of parties. The Deer Park High School softball team has won the State Championship in 2012 and 2014 and were finalist in 2013.. (Wikipidedia is cool! I knew we were having those parades for a reason!) Speaking of Parades, give us a reason! We like to throw candy. If our children hear a Firetruck go bye they put their little hands up ready to catch a piece! We do love a good parade! Deer Park boasts such notable sons and daughters as Andy Pettitte, retired professional baseball pitcher for the New York Yankees and The Houston Astros (his house is way cool). Chelsi Smith, Miss Universe 1995 (She came in to the Dr's office I worked at during her reign (No! I can't tell u why?!). Charles Holcolmb, Tx Judge of the Court of Criminal Appeals, 2001-2010. Also a city attorney for the city of Deer Park. (Wiki,I didn't know about him... I swear!!) Ron White, comedian attended Deer Park High School. (Don't know if he was born here but I do remember him referring to the oil refineries in his act once) So, in summation Deer Park is a cool place right next to a bunch of job creating, economy boosting,Oil refineries. I…read morewas initially skeptical as I entered but then the mad doctor gave his pitch to us and it was quite good so I was sold. For $20 for my girlfriend and I, the experience was awesome. We got a debrief about why the Mayfield Manor was haunted (don't worry, I won't give it away) then were led into the scenario. It was very personal and do admit I jumped a few times. What made it a 5-star experience was that it was literally only my girlfriend and I on the ~15min or so walk through the haunted manor so the mad doctor made it really personal as he confronted us through different rooms in the manor. I would assume there are usually larger groups that go through so it wouldn't usually feel so private. I honestly felt like it was my own personal play that I got to experience without anyone else in the audience really up close. Definitely an experience to remember and one I would recommend to anyone going to Galveston for a short and unique thing to do for a great price.

It's currently letting Galveston Yacht Club re-establish off of the property. It has multiple floors an is outfitting for meeting or all kinds of spaces, classrooms, etc. I haven't had a full tour. Tons of docks - they are being repaired with a goal date of the end of the year I think, maybe sooner. Prime area. I believe the goal is to sell it to a group to further sailing education and participation which is really cool. Great staff.

November 21, 2021…read more AWESOME EXPERIENCE with Captain Clement Jardin!! In honor of my 60th BD on the 23rd...we, "just sit right back and you'll hear a tale...a tale" of 3 gals on the bayou!!! (gilligan's island song reference) The three of us had the best time...Sunday FUNday! It was predicted to be a 40-80% chance of rain ...BUTT, not today Satan...the weather was perfect...hardly any clouds, 75 out and a decent wind...Capt Clement was patient, friendly and informative. I was the captain for about an hour...then I asked my friend to take over...she hesitantly did! We were on a 30 foot sailboat called, "the lift off!" It had plenty of space to sit. While on the water we met several other sailors/captains that Clement knew and we got to talk to from afloat. This outing cost $50 each and we were sailing in Offatt's bayou for 2 hours (maximum is 3 hours but, we all had to pee, so we lost an hour...old bitty's!!! LOL!) All in all, it was a FANTASTIC experience ...very zen. Get this...one friend aboard hadn't been on (any) kind of boat in 38 years (she had been involved in a near fatal boat crash at 14) and today, was the day she conquered that fear of water-crafts. We all learned a lot from Captain Jardin and about ourselves.
