Appetizer took 45 min to arrive the the salad 30 minutes lastly the main course my dinner was warm not hot but the stakes for eveyone else were piping hot. Wow - been a customer for years. Stopped in tonight to pick up desserts for my wife and I. The parking lot was less than half full. Went in and was asked how they could help me. I said "I'm just here to get dessert!" - I was told "oh - it will be an hour. You need to call in advance." If you can't find time within an hour to cut me an overpriced desert - you don't have to worry about me coming back for dinner - or for dessert - or ever. We had an amazing meal and birthday celebrations here. It's our first time coming. This place is adorable. It was decorated for Valentine's Day. We celebrated three birthdays last night and had a delicious meal and cocktails. Desserts were phenomenal and a huge highlight of the meal - Our only disappointment was the speed of service. Food took too long to be delivered to the table. We were here for over four hours. Our tab was $300 for four of us. Next time we come back, we'll try the bar for our meal. Their Flintstones POS is a pen and a 5x7 paper pad. She apologized. Evonne comp'd it. Staff cannot fart without Evonne's approval. The excuse was a cook didn't show up. The Cook Wanted sign has been in the front yard for three years! After 3 dismal hours we got dessert to go. Evonne refused any attempt to honor an OpenTable reward debit card. The place is aptly named because it was magnificent 25 years ago. One of the worst experiences I've ever had here. The food was great, but the service was terrible. There was food in the water glass that was brought to us. We shrugged that off and it was no big deal to get a new one. But the end of the meal was the worst. I was still eating when the server brought over the dessert tray. So I assumed it meant they were closing and I should leave so even though I wasn't done eating I just had her box up the rest of my food and didn't order dessert which is one of the reasons I love going to Yesterday's. Awesome experience celebrating a birthday here! We had reservations for 5pm and had the place to ourselves on a Saturday evening before it became busy. Our waitress was exceptional. She made great recommendations on cocktails and wine selections. The food was wonderful, and the portions were massive. This is place may very well be my favorite restaurant. Everything from the appetizers to the delicious entrees and the outstanding and huge desserts... Everything is great! Whenever we're here, we always get the roasted garlic appetizer, and it's outstanding! Highly recommended. The staff is always super friendly and the decor is corky, fun and homey. Oh and make sure you save room for the desserts! You can't go wrong with any of them but the Reese Peanut Butter pie is the thing of dreams! I personally did not like it here. Very poor service and they act like they are letting you eat there and doing you a favor. I loved the ambiance of the place, but they will not or can not cater to any food allergies (diary, gluten, etc) so very limited. Overall décor of the inside of the building was quite interesting. Service was good all though the table arrangements were a bit crowded. At no fault of the establishment the table next to us were all comedians (at least they thought so) and were quite loud and disruptive. We went to this restaurant because it boasted "the best burger" within some distance, I don't remember the exact distance. I've had better burgers at a fast food restaurant. To start, the burger was served on Texas Toast and consisted of two very large burger patties, too large for the sandwich because it couldn't be picked up without falling apart. And this was because the bread was so saturated with juice from the meat that the sandwich actually fell apart. Finally the entire menu was a bit over the top price wise. read more

Where to begin... I recently moved to Michiana because this is where my fiancé is from. He first took home here months ago and I was dying to go back. A few days ago, he took me here again for my 27th birthday. We always start with the Brie as an appetizer, it comes with a caramelized coating with crackers and grapes. So delicious. I got the coconut shrimp. It's absolutely amazing. These shrimp are GIANT, not some tiny little shrimp. It comes with a warmed marmalade sauce to dip it in. The garlic mashed potato's are a fantastic side to get. My fiancé got this giant hamburger, that he was unable to eat half of, he said it was amazing. The best part: dessert! Our entire family RAVES about the homemade desserts from here. We LOVE the peanut butter pie. The slices are giant and it's a whipped texture, absolutely mouth watering and worth every penny. I've been hearing about Yesterday's for a while now. My husband and his family are from the South Bend area and they always rave and recall precious memories spent at this restaurant. It was my first time visiting, and we had made reservations for that Friday evening. We were celebrating my husband's 40th, his cousins 50th, her husband's birthday, and also mine and my 6 month old son's first times in South Bend. Upon arrival, parking is sparse outside in a dirt lot. The hostess/check-in area is also very small and can get packed in pretty quickly. However, while you're waiting you can watch them finish their incredibly delicious, baking creations and look at all the amazingly proportioned pies. We waited about 10 minutes before we were able to be escorted to our table outside. We had a nice table right by the entrance to the indoor dining and away from traffic for my son. We were greeted almost immediately by our server who took our drink orders. Unfortunately, we had to send a few back that were made incorrectly, but they were delicious and perfectly sized upon their return. The menu was amazing and I could've ordered anything from it. We were all in a seafood mood. I ordered the salmon, my husband ordered the walleye, we had two orders of perch, and one order of halibut. With the entrée you get a complimentary salad and you get to choose your sides. They also bring out complimentary bread and butter and my husband ordered the crabcakes for appetizers. As if that wasn't enough food for us, since they are known for dessert and we were celebrating, we got a carrot cake slice and a peanut butter pie slice. We couldn't finish those so that had to come home with us! Overall, the service was good, the food was delicious, the menu was great, the environment was super fun, and I loved the place. It is an older house converted into a restaurant with an outdoor area that they have created a tiki lounge out of. There was also live music there that added to how fun everything was. At a certain point, I snuck into the main dining and found our server to tell her about the birthday celebrations. It was kind of funny, a few wires got crossed and they came out singing "happy birthday"and got a few of the names wrong and also said "happy anniversary." I'm so glad that happened because now it's an ongoing joke, it was great that they came out and they also gave them hats. I believe one of them had a Santa hat and the other one had antlers? I went there for my birthday and my husband proposed here so it has a special place in my heart. The décor is kitschy and fun and the rooms vary by theme. The food is always good, and the appetizers are very filling so go sparingly or share. The artichoke dip was fantastic, flavorful and cheesy, while the calamari had a light breading and was cooked just right. Each of the three entries were perfect. Two specials were the NY strip steak cooked on a skillet and served sizzling. Cooked perfectly at medium rare. The crab cakes were good sized and not all filler. Good quality crab that was not gritty. Dressers here are the perfect finale. We were sinful that we took our home. Since we were there for a birthday they brought out one with a candle and sang...which was fun when you add i. the fun hats. Key lime pie and Tiramisu went home and they were also very good. The server was top notch and super personable. We also ordered drinks and they were served promptly and were just the right strength...Pomegranate martini and a Whisky sour. It was a fun night and worth the bill. I would say it's a $$$ level dining BUT it the perfect mix of a comfortable atmosphere and relaxed feel with great food and drinks. It's been quite awhile since I had been to Yesterday's, but my husband and I thought their patio would be perfect for a Saturday dinner out. We made reservations, which weren't needed as they weren't too busy. We were seated upon arrival at a nice table on the patio. The only downside was the overwhelming citronella fumes that came directly towards us, but we were appreciative the multiple torches kept the bugs away. We were greeted by our waitress who was friendly, but a little spacey. We all know restaurants mark up their wines, but I was surprised to see a glass of Rodney Strong Chalk Hill was $9.25...talk about pricey. The bottle was more reasonably priced at $30. We opted for the bottle and my husband later got a beer to go with his burger - $6.50 for a pint of Oberon is steep compared to every other place in the area with Oberon on tap. Fortunately, our other selections were more reasonably priced. We ordered the Underneath the Southern Moon appetizer which was crispy seasoned waffle fries topped with bacon, cheese, tomatoes, scallions and served with a side of sour cream and ketchup. We've been on a bit of a burger quest lately so my husband ordered the Mob, which is a huge filet mignon burger topped with whole roasted garlic cloves, sliced green olives and topped with provolone cheese, served on a pretzel roll. It didn't disappoint and was one of his favs (along with Miles Lab and Flippin' Cow in Elkhart). Since we had the waffle fries as an appetizer, he took the waitress up on an offer of a side salad, which was large with a nice selection of lettuces, but no other veggies. They make all their cream dressings in house so he went with the bleu cheese, which he enjoyed. One of my pet peeves is when a restaurant doesn't both to mention their upcharges - the side salad was an additional $4, which is fine, but should have been mentioned. The upside was his burger still came out with the fries. The burger is definitely worth the $11 price tag. I knew their portions were huge so I opted for a salad - the Times Square, which is a blend of lettuces topped with their prime rib, a mound of carmelized onions, bleu cheese crumbles and tomatoes (not a tomato fan so it would have been nice if the menu included a better description so I could have ordered without). The menu did say the prime rib slices were served medium; however, mine was well done, but still tender and tasty. I ordered their homemade ranch dressing on the side. The salad was $13 and I didn't come close to finishing it. Yesterday's is known for their housemade desserts so do your best to save room. My husband picked the peanut butter cheesecake for us to share which like all their desserts, is served with a massive mound of fresh, homemade whipped cream. We did our best, but still ended up taking home more than we ate. The cheesecake was an incredible bargain at $10. One dessert is easily enough for four adults to share! We love the eclectic and relaxed atmosphere and our only real complaints where the inconsistency in service and the overpriced drink selections. All in all, it was a great dinner and we'll be back in the future. Our bill with an appetizer, bottle of wine, beer, burger, salad entree and dessert was $89. read more

This was my wife and I first time dining here. Without any reservation this was the absolute best FOOD, SERVICE, and EXPERIENCE we have had in over a decade and we eat out a lot. Rodger and Carol made us feel like family and that we were the only guest there and the place was very busy. Which speaks to the exceptionally high level of service they provide. Now the food, the food is superb and the desserts will take you to a place of joy typically reserved for the birth of your first child.
