My daughter loves coming here because she loves gymnastics. The staff here is only focused on the team. My daughter has not moved up in a year and a half and the person running it says to take more classes (more money). The instructors are college students who don't put a lot of effort in explaining what moves they are learning or correcting what they need to improve on prior to testing. My daughter got a 3 on one assessment and went back to a 2 in the next. It's unfortunate that I'll have to find another facility because she really likes Erin who is one of the instructors but Francesca seems very bias towards some of the kids. read more

Parents can't stay and watch in the bigger gym that's a big no no for me. Not leaving my little girl unattended.

Worst place to go. They have a no teacher that know how to teach and they just keep being a student same level and they don't know how know. They hired the kids to work they don't know how to teach and are wasting money and time I put my daughter for six months I'm not able to go inside because I was busy and after months check there's no people to teach well. and the reading, my daughter just lost I put pictures that when she started and after she learned six months. Instructors are not there for the girls. They seem like "mean girls" taking it out on 8 year olds. It would be nice to have coaches build up little girls instead of singling out a few. read more

my daughter has been going for at least 7 months so far the evening staff has been pretty nice, professional nothing but good things to say!

if you want to be discriminated upon and scar your kid, then go ahead and sign them up to that class. never saw such a supervisor who treats people in such and not in a discrete way. read more

Highly disappointed. Tried for a few months of the parent and me program. The teachers Galina and Harley are so condescending to the children I sincerely hope they never have children. I have never said this of any other person, ever. But these two will make terrible mothers read more

My daughters started here in the beginner classes, and both loved it. As time went on they both advanced to team and started competing at competitions. This is a great program that has taught my kids how to work hard, get through their fears and make some great friends. I have also enjoyed meeting the other parents and being around people who want the best for their kids. read more

Not very sure that I'm satisfied with this program my daughter has been here for almost a year and I see very little improvement. The staff barely speak to the parents unless their kid is on a team. They put all of their energy into the teams. I although my daughter enjoys coming here I don't feel there is enough coaching and discipline going on with the kids who are not on team. They allow they kids to play so much during class. I think they may be afraid to correct a child be a the parents are sitting right there watching. The instructors are very young and don't seem to care very much and seem to just be going through the motions. I never see any of the teachers doing actually demonstration. There is no upper body strength training as far as I can tell. Not sure how much longer I will keep my daughter here. It is a good price though plus they offer financial assistance to those in need. read more

I agree about the customer service. It is non-existent. The coaches are good but they do not offer any make up classes at all. So if your kid is sick or your child's class falls on a holiday (they are almost always open) then you have to eat the cost of that lesson. In addition to all of this there are almost always trash cans that are overflowing with fast food garbage right outside the doors.....and the doors are always wide open to try and diffuse the odor of the facility. read more

Long story, short: My daughter got a deep gash below her chin. Had to rush to Urgent Care. Instructor that was supposed to be "watching" her, didn't know how it happened when everything around is "soft". She finally realized my daughter was hurt, when she was on the floor crying. Cancelled our classes IMMEDIATELY. Both the instructor and manager were very unprofessional during the whole incident, and days after. Horrible experience. read more

Kudos to Lakewood YMCA Gymnastics!! This place and the staff truly are GREAT! My daughter who is a special needs child attends the regular gymnastics classes twice a week. Thanks to her coaches, she is doing rolls, back bends, and jumping into "THE PIT". These are all things she would usually be scared to do. She is becoming so confident. Lakewood Gymnastics is a wonderful place for all kids to workout and learn great skills. I have two children who have been in classes and on the team and they love it. The coaches are really great and really help the kids learn to be good gymnastics and good friends. My son really developed a lot of self confidence in their gymnastics program and went on to the swim team. He is always showing off his flexibility and strength and these skills can be incorporated into other sports too. read more

This gym is very kid friendly. Sure it's a bit stinky but what gym isn't? I am on the pre team and I joined less than a year ago. The fabulous coaches taught me a lot and it's them I have to thank. read more

Worst customer service ever! Went in there to get information for my daughter to sign her up and the lady there didn't seem to care to provide any information. I had specific questions in regards to my daughters health and all she did was give my a brochure and said all the information I need is there and then she walked away. I drove all the way down there to get information that I obviously can't get off their website. Very disappointed in how we were treated. read more

Great place to learn gymnastics and to make lifelong friendships! One of my daughters is on competitive team and my other one just started the three year old class, they both love it! The Lakewood YMCA gymnastics Center is a great place to take your kids!! They have lessons for 18 month olds all the way to adult classes and open gym!! Friendly staff & great with the kids. Everyone has fun when they are at the gym :) Love this place will never go anywhere else read more

We were hooked after our first free lesson. Great place to learn gymnastics in a fun way. There are opportunities to advance to competitive teams if your child shows the desire. Also, they do a great birthday party. My daughters had their party there, the kids had a blast and I didn't have to do any work. Great gymnastics program for boys as well. read more
