My white sweater comes back looking brand new. They're able to get collar stains out and more. I've brought in countless pants for a hem job and each one comes back very nicely done. Very technical and clean. They're also very honest people. There was one pair that the lady convinced me to not hem because she believed that it was the perfect length. I'm so glad she did. Being new to the neighborhood, I was getting concerned with the reviews for the dry cleaners/tailors near me. I'm excited to discover Tom's. Tom's is worth the slightly longer walk for me.

I worked with Rosa. There was a little bit of a language barrier, and I wouldn't say she's the most jovial person b/c of the communication barrier, but she is extremely skilled at what she does so I was able to explain what I needed done, and she worked wonders. She removed layers of fabric making it lighter, but also more breathable. With one fitting she tailored it perfectly to my body. I almost couldn't believe it. I ended up taking it home and then realizing that I needed a little more security around the bust area. I brought it back, she did it and didn't charge me. She also adjusted the slit because it was a little too high for me. Overall, I would absolutely recommend going here. She's professional and extremely skilled, and that is what matters most.

It wasn't a complicated operation, and to make sure I wasn't dreaming that I'd been wildly overcharged, I took the dress off the hanger, removed all references to the establishment, and took it to two other places. One, a few blocks away, wanted to charge less than 20% of that total. And a place in tony Park Slope would have charged $38. To add insult to injury, the hem hits me in the most unflattering place on my calf. It's terrible. This is not the first time Astro has pegged me for a sucker. But it's going to have to be the last. They're very pleasant people, I should add.

My last couple interactions however were really awful. I brought a jumpsuit that I work in, picked it up when was ready and took it right to work. When I put it on I noticed previous stains from my makeup on the collar of the jumpsuit and worst of all, it smelled of sweat in the underarms. The whole reason for me dry cleaning is to make sure my clothes smell fresh as its rare that my things are stained. When I took it back I said I want it re done and I'm not going to pay for it once more since it hasnt been cleaned properly (even had pictures to prove). She wasnt very happy but said ok and gave me my other gowns. I opened right there and said no, they need to be re done, they still have a smell! The woman then proceeds to tell me, "maybe that's just your smell because the clothes have been cleaned" she then tried to charge me again for the jumpsuit saying "you wore it already". Yes I had worn it because I had no other choice but to wear a dirty one. After she re-did the cleaning I simply picked them up, still not fresh, found another dry cleaner who actually knows how to do a good job and never came back.
