We were super stoked Napa was finally getting a fro yo self serve place, we've been there a handful of times now and each time has gotten progressively worse. The only pleasant experience we've had is when the manager/owner has been there. He's very nice. Our problem's not so much with the quality of the yogurt, but with the customer service and the fact that most times they are out of several flavors, leaving only the basics. Not only are the choices scarce but the machines are usually a mess. Some of our favorite flavors have been yellow cake batter, peanut butter, cookies and cream, pumpkin, red velvet cupcake and pineapple. So it's already really annoying that they were out of at least 4 flavors in the middle of the day, But what's really messed up is that the cashier flat out called me a LIAR and in front of other customers... all after making us wait for her to finish flirting with a non-customer standing on the side. My total was $4.60 and I gave her a $5 bill and $.60 so I could get a dollar back (I hate change). She gave me $.90 back so I explained to her I gave her $5.60 and so I get a dollar back. Not even looking down to see if she made a mistake, she snapped back, "NO, you only gave me $5.50, so that's the right change." Well standing there, we could clearly see the money I had given her and it was plain as day 2 quarters and a dime. So I pointed it out and asked her to recount it. She did and finally realized and admitted her mistake and rudely picked up the dime and said, "here you can have your dime back" as she put it in my hand. Did I mention I hate change? I was standing there with a hand full of a dollar's worth of change, So obviously i ask for a dollar bill, and with a huff and some attitude she finally gave me my correct change. That's not the first and only time they have been rude, just the time that stood out to us the most and was also the most disrespectful. We'd much rather drive the extra ten minutes to American Canyon or Sonoma for some friendly service. read more

I am utterly shocked and disappointed that this place gets such low reviews. Come on YELPERS! Get your act together. This is Napa's one and only fro-yo place and to be honest it is quite amazing! Yes, it is in the Bel Aire shopping center and it is like driving through hell if you have to go in there. I love how everyone is complaining about customer service, it is fro-yo for goodness sake. It is SELF SERVE frozen yogurt. Get your cup, fill it with the flavor you like, add toppings, and pay. Batta bing-batta boom. They have every topping that one could hope for, including mochi which is my personal favorite. I'm SO happy Napa has a place like Yo'Belle. In OC I pretty much lived off of frozen yogurt as a meal supplement for at least 4 lunches/dinners a week and was terribly afraid I was going to have to start eating real food when I relocated to Napa. As a froyo expert of sorts, let me say that Yo'Belle does it right. Good variety of flavors and toppings and the shop is neat, clean and spacious. So far I haven't been trapped behind any hoards of people who are confused by the serve yourself concept. A+! read more

YOwzzers, I was bit feeling let down, d-d-ddissapointed and bummed...after reading sum of the first reviews of Napa's new FroYo self servdom in the Bel Aire shopping center (careful backing out), conveniently located next 2 Copperfield's books and across from Wholepaycheck Foods, but I mustered the moxy to meander ....and 1) Upon opening the new front door, I WAS was greeted immediately with a WELCOME and warm smile on a very cold fall nite where you could see your crisp breath trailing in the wind, and was also asked if I would like a sample cup (I think she batted her eyes as well and I felt she was really trying, though her friends and the boss were there all watching her performance and she could have easily been a drama studente?) 2) SURE! I replied and the young girly attendant gave me 3 cups stacked tightly together, albeit small cups but with 12 flavs (all fully stocked), things were looking up! Perky and such we all were! 3) BLING! as my eyes took in all the candy...I quickly surmized the place is well lit, shiny squeaky clean and al dente' modern with big photos of juicy looking foodie fruits and has a fishtank looking water dispenser with fresh strawberries floating under a lime green tiled half arc, the whole cool cafe' is colorfully tiled and the floor is made of some nice soft not to hard or shiny stuff, perhaps it's green recycled coconut shells? 4) BAM! As I head back to the rear to fill my gear, I counted 39 freakin' toppings in stainless trays, fresh bananas, lichees, coconut flakes, butterfingers, gummys, allkindsa fruit, white chocolate chips-mmmMMm and that's not counting the 3 bottles of Ghiradeli sauces and 3 more containers of roasted almonds, peanuts and walnuts? 5) I SAMPLED the Chocolate first did I, pretty tasty though a bit Nestle' with a hint of dark Cocoa..not the best but far from tasting rank cheap and imitation, the Coconut was refreshing, light but big on flavor, the Mango sadly did not do justice to most Indian restaurants' standard ware and was a bit low in taste brilliance- usually a fav of mine, the Peanut Butter was Very Good, not too rich and would go well with a mix of Chocolate, the Pumpkin was Da Bomb, rich, velvety, creamy and spicy hints of nutmeg and Cinnamon, this Pie became my instant diner desert with some heath bar bits for a texture & taste treat combo that was Out of the park! The Velvet cake, and other flavs will have to wait for my next Fro Yo date. They said they had even more flavs in the back so I told them I did, "You should have Bday partys with blindfold tasting"! Brilliant EH! 6) YELP TO THE RESCUE! (everyone needs YELP sometimes) As I savored my cup of self serve at 45 cents an ounce, I thought to myself, self, this here is a purdy gud place and perhaps they've been listenin' to us YELPERS to help them fix their failures and They IZ now really focused on the Customer Service element of their biz plan and such! The Power of Yelp once again overcomes and ALL is GUD, able to leap large amounts of ignorance and greed with a few simple, sharp and to the point words from the whimsical wise pepz on real street -whom love to eat! 7) As I licked my chops and liked what I tasted, with none waisted.. I marveled again at the mounds of munchiedom, my mind had a deja vu' and I felt that I had been here before perhaps, realizing the colors, tile, photographs and modern Asian feel were in fact very similar to a Fro Yo place I tried in the city of Irvine, CA called "Yogurt Passion" a distant cousin SO, I asked the owner, is this a one of kind place? He smiled and said in clear proper English (a rarity nowadayz) , "NO" but we are not a chain either, we are a small group of enterepenUers that are testing the market for possible expansion, starting on the West Coast. So the moral of my meander is that if you occasionally enjoy a Jamba Juice and are willing to voice your opinion to the owner, you may just have a guilt free meal and help shape the future of Corporate retail, one YELP at at time, all while sampling your way to gastroesctasy! Yo'Belle is the only frozen yogurt place here in Napa. There are more indulgent places like Ben&Jerry's, Cold Stone Creamery, and Baskin-Robbins. There's a great variety of flavors-including peanut butter, blueberry, and yellow cake batter. The toppings are an astounding array. Unfortunately, some of them aren't labeled (such as the magnificent mochi) The fresh fruit are great.... again, healthier than Ben&Jerry's. The layout is poor. The seating isn't that great either. The upside is the frozen yogurt itself, the variety, the service- and -SHOCKING!-their ice water. They put fresh strawberries in their ice water, so even the water is good. They'd call it the Water of Life on Arrakis/Dune. Definitely will go back! read more

There is never enough coverage at this location. I feel for the employees as there never seems to be more than one person tending to the store at a time. I would have to agree with a previous post about the management; a good manager would be focused on the customer experience in an effort to ensure that customers continue to return. Instead, it appears that the manager is more focused on being penny wise at the cost of being dollar foolish. Aside from the surly attitudes of the staff, there is never any long lasting consistency in the flavors as it would appear that the person charged with ordering them is incapable of doing so. Go to the Yobelle downtown if you need to satisfy your frozen yogurt needs--or better yet, eat some fruit and skip the unnecessary sugar. read more

I am so surprised to see the reviews from unsatisfied customers. I'm happy that we finally have a yogurt shop in town and within walking distance of my home is an added bonus. I went to the Free Yogurt Day they had when they first opened and have been back a few times, at different times of the day. It can get busy and I've always been given and seen good service. I've used the tiny sample cup and find that by the time the yogurt is coming out of the machine that it's a nice size dollop for tasting. Strawberry: I loved the Strawberry. Chocolate: I'm not a chocolate person and thought it really did taste rich and decadent (for people who like chocolate). Vanilla: is vanilla. A sure thing if you there isn't anything else that is appealing to your tastebuds. Pumpkin: Tasted like pumpkin pie though unless you really like pumpkin pie, might not want to over indulge on this flavor. Boysenberry: A little too sweet and tangy for me but I'm not much of a berry person. This was a taster. Pineapple: Creamy pineappley goodness Peanut Butter: Not too peanut buttery - just enough Cookies & Cream: Sweet and creamy Red Velvet Cake: A less rich version of the chocolate - yummy. Yellow Cake: Delicious just the way I like it! I think those are all of the flavors I've tasted. The toppings counter is certainly not lacking. The fresh fruit items are kept in containers that are kept cold and changed out periodically. It's true that the bananas can get a little brown if left out too long. And the other dry toppings are terrific, such an assortment and I love that you can put cereal on top too. The sauces are Ghiradelli brand. Once you have created your masterpiece you place your cup on the scale to be weighed. It's 40¢ an ounce. Some people are shocked by their total price at the end because they don't realize how much really does fit inside one of those cups and overestimate how much they think they can really eat. This was my second visit to Yo Belle, and I'm afraid it might be my last. The flavors available were pretty standard and for the most part ok (although, I prefer the Yogurtland in Concord). I pretty much stick to Chocolate, Peanut Butter, and Cookies & Cream (Chocolate and Peanut Butter were good, but the Cookies & Cream was really sweet). The quality and flavor though won't be why I won't return, though, it will be because of the customer service. They had Pumpkin flavor out today which I would have really liked to have tried. When I asked for a sample cup I was told that they don't have any right now. Then when I asked for a spoon I was told that I don't get one until the end of my transaction; after I pay. I asked how I was supposed to try the Pumpkin without a spoon and I was told to "go for it." I'm sorry, I'm not just going to "go for" Pumpkin which can be a hit or miss flavor. I opted not to try it which is fine, but I would have liked to. After I was done pouring my yogurt (and having the machines wiped down as I poured which was super convenient ~ thanks for being cleanly though!) I asked if one of the toppings available was peanut butter cups. I was told that they were and I put several on my yogurt. Once I left and had a chance to try the "peanut butter cups" I was disappointed to find out that the cups lacked any peanut butter and were only filled with more chocolate. Lastly, at the end of my transaction I was asked if my order was to go. I informed the cashier that it was. I paid and she put the spoons I had requested earlier inside my yogurt cups (I had three separate cups). I asked her if she had lids for my to-go order and she remembered that they did. As I removed the now dirty spoons from the cups I asked her if she had new, clean spoons. She said they did but was hesitant to give me new ones. I had to wrap the dirty spoons in a napkin and put it in my purse in order to get them out and back to the office in order to eat our yogurt. How frustrating! I hope these bumps in the road are simply because they are a new business and not because this is the customer service they intend to impart on their clientele. read more

Went again this past Thursday on my day off (from working in a frozen yogurt shop...lol), to give Yobelle a second chance. I brought along my boyfriend as he too likes to try out different yogurt shops. Getting to it: - Shop appearence: Tables were dirty, a yogurt cup spilled on the floor and just left there. Melted froyo over many chairs. (yea, definately NOT eating inside!). There was one cashier present, who stood behind the register smiling like there was no cleaning to be done. (were it at my work, we'd be fired for just standing there and letting a mess like that go! Hello...make it ready and clean for other customers to sit and enjoy yogurt!!!) -Yogurt flavor was good. Vanilla bean tasted like Haggen daz, and graham cracker tasted like honey graham crackers. Consistancy horrible. Very "deflated" (as froyo should be creamy, slightly icy and fluffy since it has air put into it to improve consistancy). Their yogurt lacked this consistancy. It was very runny and only really half frozen. Half of their machines were low as well. - Toppings = a DISASTER ZONE! There were toppings evvverrryyywherrre! Strawberries in the "fresh" oranges, sprinkles in the reeses, even some chocolate syrup in one of the other chocolately looking toppings. Again, nothing was labeled, so unless you see the stuff everyday, how would you know exactly what was what??? (obviously some are easy to tell what they are...) On the plus side, i saw that they removed their nuts from the main population of toppings. So i suppose that helps with anyone with nut allergies. Overall...toppings ALL looked disgusting, and i had my yogurt topping free. At checkout, the cashier was nice, but very soft spoken. I had to ask a second time what she had said our total was. $7.88 for two yogurts...not too shabby if the quality of the froyo was better. Like another yelper said, she asked if it was To-go or Dine-In, which basically is to determine if you get taxed or not (if you get To-go, you wont be taxed). We planned to sit outside, but tables were full of little kids smearing froyo all over tables. (hey, it does happen. Parents...do you seriously let your kids do that?!?!?! And why!?!?!) All in all....both the bf and i agree that flavor wise it is good, but we wont be jumping for joy to go here. We'd rather stick to Top That Yogurt in Sonoma/Santa Rosa, or Moyo's in Petaluma. read more

I'm thrilled this place is here... and we're getting a second one!! I go with my 4 year old. You have to be careful, it can get expensive, but its all by weight. So we pick 1 flavor, fill the cup about a 1/4 full and then get to pick 2 toppings each. This works for her and I both and everyone gets something they want. I like frozen yogurt, and was surprised to find out that Napa has one near my work place. The place is clean, nice lighting, good variet of flavors. The frozen yogurt is creamy. The toppings are more of the premium toppings I do not typically see in a frozen yogurt bar, well this is Napa. They have raspberries, blueberries, blackberries, strawberries, kiwi and so on, not just canned orange slices or browning bananas. Will definitely go back! plus they do have a water dispenser so you do not have to buy a whole bottle of water after having your yogurt. read more

Having gone to college in San Luis Obispo, where there is seemingly a fro yo shop per every 10 students, coming home meant having withdraws. I am SO HAPPY that there is a place other than Browns Valley Yogurt & Espresso bar that offers this frozen deliciousness! PROS: They have 10 yogurts "on tap" at any given time that always seem to be the perfect consistency. The flavors are good. The strawberry at some fro you places tastes fake to me...not Yo'Belle's. The two younger employees I often see working are really nice and friendly. The ice water is a nice touch. Sweets always make me thirsty! CONS: They are lacking in toppings in comparison to other places I've been but they have the basics. I agree with Anna's review in that they could use more seating. read more

The staff here is super friendly and the vibe is just great! The yogurt is absolutely amazing and extremely delicious Once you walk in they have a sanitizing station before you start. You serve your own yogurt and the staff serves the toppings for you. They have a wide variety of toppings and a variety of yogurt flavors. Wtf?! 5 months ago it was 49 cents an ounce now it's 55 cents. All I have to say is way overpriced for what you get. Coming from Sacramento where there's one of these on every corner and where 6 of us could get a cup and it would be 20 bucks to this outrageous joint where your lucky if 20 bucks covers just 3 of you,..... Stupid prices! The people who rate this place high are sheltered and stuck in this fish bowl town. They are ripping you off! I finally caved to peer pressure and went to this quaint little shop my friends frequent. Because my friends range in age from 16-21, they understandably ostracized me for not going. I eventually caved and on one brave afternoon, made my way to the shop. Upon entering I noticed a stillness in the air, a small space occupied by a few souls with multiple cups on their table. They briefly looked up, grimaced, and returned to their frozen treats. One girl gave me a particularly scornful gaze but she had a good deal more frozen yogurt on her face than in her so I need not respect her. The selection was typical, chocolate, vanilla, tart, some other assorted lot that I will never eat. I opted for the chocolate because that's just how I roll. Maybe it's because I'm a neat freak but the unlabeled, mix of different toppings was a huge turn off. I had no idea what anything was so I just topped off with some random stuff that looked good. Not a great strategy but I was flying blind. As someone noted, food allergies could become an issue. I eventually ended with a chocolate goop with coconut, chocolate sprinkles and M&Ms. Maybe it's the 5 year old in me talking but that was pretty sweet. The actual yogurt was pretty bland, unnaturally cold and just lightly flavored. I also have sensitive teeth so that was no buen. The cashier also asked me if this was for here or to go. Seeing the plastic tops that undoubtedly fit over the cups, I asked for it to go but was greeted with no top. What's the point of asking?? Next time I'll be sure to say that but only if the cashier isn't cute or anything. Overall for being the only shop in Napa there's not much one can do about it, but if you have the time or gas Over the Top Shop in American Canyon is superior. The cashier was pretty cute too so that was a plus. Will go again, simply out of convenience. read more

Where's Yogurtland when you need them??? Moving from southern ca where I had my fare share of fro-yo which is like a culture down there. I find myself now living in Northern California where there is a great disparity :( why is this mediocre borderline terrible yogurt place the only self serve business in this town??? For a town of 75,000 Napa is def lacking in the frozen dessert area. The flavors are way too strong and artificial tasting. I've gone back several times hoping to find a flavor to quench my craving but only one time have I been satisfied. Its hard for me to even give this place 1 star. The star is for the yogurt taste only. Do not go here UNLESS you want to be insulted, belittled, overcharged, and mocked. The staff here is out of control with their bad attitudes and rude behaviors. I will never go there again. I have been a total of 10+ times. There used to be a girl there that was very pleasant and understood the meaning of customer service. She clearly wised up and left/quit, but I can't blame her after encountering the other staff members. The time before last I was in there, a part of the plastic that shapes the yogurt as it pours out, broke and a piece of it ended up in my yogurt. No big deal, I figured it was a harmless machine malfunction, and didn't make a stink of it. I mentioned it to the gal at the cash register the next and last time (and I mean last time ever) I was in there. (after I waited for her to finally come out of the back room) She looked at me, shrugged her shoulders, semi-chuckled (insinuating I made it up), and said "your total is....." I politely paid as my blood was boiling and before I left I mentioned she should work on her customer service skills. She rolled her eyes, and in a caddy voice said "well have a nice day". THANK GOODNESS there is a far better Yobelle about 1.5 miles from this one, so I will only go there now. The staff at the downtown location is always friendly, knows customers by name, offers samples EVERYTIME you enter, and offer more discounts and promos for regular customers. Whatever you do, DONT GO to the Bel Aire location. Waste of time and money. read more
