To salvage the opportunity, the salesperson, Chris, texted me and offered to come the following day at noon instead, along with a 5% discount for the inconvenience. I rearranged my schedule twice to accommodate them during what was already an exceptionally difficult time, as I was preparing to say goodbye to my 16-year-old dog that weekend. Chris did arrive on Friday as promised, but a week has now passed and I have received neither a bid nor any follow-up communication from anyone at the company. Shortly after the appointment, their Thumbtack profile was also removed or hidden. While I can't say why, the timing was odd, as it prevented me from leaving a review on the platform where we originally connected. I've uploaded screenshots with this review documenting the interaction, including Chris's last-minute cancellation, his offer of a 5% discount, and the Thumbtack notification showing the company was no longer available on the platform. If reliability, communication, and follow-through are important to you, I would recommend looking elsewhere.

Our project involved a new driveway, several retaining walls, flag stone, leveling the yard, drainage, irrigation and planting. We had a general idea of what we were looking for, but Roland made the process easy to take our ideas and turn them into a finished product. Given his years of doing this he was also a good one to enhance what we we wanted to do, or alternatively tell us "that is not a good idea". We were on a timeline to get the job done and he was able to deliver. One thing that is really helpful with Newland Landscape is that he has multiple crews working. This allows him to shift resources around as needed. I think we had people at the house working every day, and some Saturdays. In our experience this is a rariety with many contractors. We had to do our work as well, staying ahead of him picking out materials, plants, etc. but with that he was able to stay on track with our need. I would highly recommend Roland and Newland landscape for medium to large jobs.

He did a couple of computerized renderings of our front yard, and we compared his ideas to my drawings, and wow, almost identical. The entire project took a mere 5 days. Even the neighbors were impressed especially with the high quality work. We had the entire front yard revamped and the driveway went from 2 car parking to 3 car parking with the walkways going from 3' to 6' with a new 6' walkway going from the house to the sidewalk. We reused all the existing plants we had, which saved us a bundle and look awesome in their new homes. Stephen had the crew run electrical conduit in case we changed our minds on path lighting. Good call! We changed our minds! So after the project was finished Stephen himself came out and put in the path lighting himself. After all said and done, I noticed that we had a problem with the sprinkler line under the side walk missing dirt. I texted Stephen and he immediately jumped into action to get the issue fix. Far and away, I knew immediately that Socorro was the most honest, knowledgeable and professional of all the companies I talked to. His estimate was in the middle--not the cheapest not the most expensive so it seemed fair and complete. He and the crew came every day from about 7:30-4:00 as long as it wasn't raining. They did a fantastic job. My yard looks better than I could have ever imagined. They were a pleasure to work with. Very friendly, always checking to see if I had questions, etc. He's followed up to see how everything is going, if I have any questions, and offered to come back out and check on everything and do a bit of weeding.
