We attended a gentle yoga class taught by Sandi and it was fantastic. One of the best classes I have participated in. I was able to stretch and do the poses and they were very helpful for my stenosis. Sandi walked around and watched posture and helped to make sure we were doing poses correctly. My sister and I did an evening breath work class this past week. Such a lovely experience. This was my first time in YAM and the space was beautiful. Very esthetically pleasing. I love that the floor is foam to make it extra cozy. The breathwork session was very well lead and I loved having this experience. If I'm ever visiting again I will absolutely participate in other classes. read more

I had the Swedish massage with Carson. She's amazing. I asked for deep pressure and for her to target my knee for scar tissue, my lower back for stenosis and my shoulder (stress). She did a terrific job. I could feel the muscle pain a little the next day, but man! I felt so much better by day2! Highly recommend and will be going back! read more

I went for my first time ever to a class yesterday and it was soooo good. Yes there were many things I couldn't do at first but I progressed as the class went on. The teacher, Sandi, was very patient, encouraging and kind. I appreciated her asking if she could touch me before class even started so I wouldn't be uncomfortable or startled during it. I do NOT recommend the Yoga side of the business. I registered ahead of time, paid $19, and carefully entered the address into my outlook calendar appt as I was aware they had 2 locations in Hendersonville. Nevertheless, I ended up at the wrong location and rushed across town during hellish rush hour traffic to make it to the other location only to find it was locked, presumably as class had started. Why couldn't the employee at the first location tell me they were going to lock it, as she knew I was late and heading over there? And why even lock the door in the first place? I still had their website open and took a look when I got home and feel it is needlessly confusing, I put red squares around their cheeky directions ("King Street is Hot" - Laurel Park is Not") and showing my "warm yin yoga" class without a location listed. I guess one should assume warm is the same as hot? It is also confusing as they list a street for one location and "Laurel Park", which isn't a street for the other. Maybe they should list "Brevard Rd" instead. FWIW I was there the day before for a massage and think Meredith did a great job. read more

My first time at Yoga and Massage and it was a wonderful experience. The ladies at the front desk were personable, knowledgeable, and so friendly. Explained everything, walked me through the process and then down the hall to the rubber floor, soothing yoga studio. I took the Yoga for Seniors, Mel, the instructor, introduced me to others and made me feel at home. The class had a variety of Qigong and yoga at one's own level. The whole environment was beautiful, lots of class options and good location in Laurel Park. Would definitely recommend this to others. read more

I was visiting my sister in Hendersonville and wanted to do a yoga class; I Googled "best yoga," and saw Yam. Then, I noticed they offered massage, too. I did a yoga class, while my daughter got a massage. Then I went to the massage studio and had one, too. What a fabulous experience. Hailey was sweet and so good. She worked out the kinks in my neck. And the Happy Hour yoga class did not disappoint. It was too hot inside the studio for me, but they are a hot yoga studio with other classes. I told the teacher it was hot, and she turned on the fan and opened the door. Today, I feel flexible and pain-free. What more could I ask for? My daughter, who is a tough critic, enjoyed her massage, too. I would definitely come back! read more

I recently relocated to Hendersonville temporarily to care for my dear father in his last months. It's hard to stay in shape and keep centered while living in slow motion with a 93 year old. After trying three other studios in Asheville and Hendersonville I found YAM and felt right at home. There are many things I appreciated about YAM: - new and very clean - I like the floor which is like a giant soft yoga mat - hot classes taught by Bikram certified instructors are challenging and fun - warm flow classes for vinyasa fans - infrared heat (way better than forced air) - friendly staff and members - I feel like I could have made friends there and am sorry I wasn't able to stop in and say goodbye at the 10am Bikram class I experienced four or five different instructors and all were very good. The classes are small and there is some personal attention. I learned ways to improve my practice in several classes. That's pretty amazing really. I didn't award five stars because I wanted more late morning hot classes to choose from (the 6am class was just too early for me). I think as a new studio they are still finding out what works for the community and that more classes will be added as the support for them grows. I received a wonderful relaxing healing massage here several weeks ago from William. I was in so much pain physically and Williams deep tissue massage was fantastic. He will ask you if the pressure is too much during the session. I personally like deep pressure. The massage is fine tuned to your needs. William is a compassion individual who knew I was grieving the recent lost of my sister. He ends the session with nice calming healing words which I really appreciated. I am from NYC and have had many types of massage, but none compares to this special deep tissue and energy healing. Yam yoga and massage located in Hendersonville, NC is a hidden gem. I love this place. Bought the two week unlimited pass for $35 and ended up going 11 times! Every teacher was wonderful, every class felt supportive, every visit was good and sweaty. The energy here is serene - good lighting, plenty of props to use, friendly regulars. I wish I lived here year-round to get the annual pass. So thankful for this studio! read more
