I really like this yoga studio in Frisco. It's got a homey, cozy vibe to it that feels comforting. It's not a modern sleek or contemporary interior, but it has more of a comfy and snug older vibe to it, which is befitting of the quaint nature of downtown Frisco. I really like the classes here--the more regular flows include a somewhat heated room temperature, and the gentler flows have a cooler temperature. Therefore, you can choose your class based on temperature or yoga level preferences. The teachers are quite nice and friendly. Major downside to this studio: they lock the doors if you show up late; this can be very bad because traffic is sometimes bad in the area, especially at certain times of the day. I would only sign up for a class if you know you can arrive 10 minutes early. read more

I had some Class Pass credits and found that Yoga on Main offered a variety of classes at great times of the day. The Lunch Express with Pooja was great! Although I'm not completely new to yoga, it has been about a year since I took any type of class nor practiced it. She offers so many variations and says you can do this pose, or maybe add this as well. I was surprised (in a good way) how big of a difference the word "maybe" adds to people with very different physical abilities. Plenty of parking behind the studio and you can enter from the back door (they have a sign on their door that says you're at the right place). It resembles an older home, but this makes their studio very comfortable. Sign in at the front and if you're new, they will give you a quick information form to fill out. Shoes off and you're good to go. Seemed like a very welcoming and no frills place to practice yoga. I can't wait to come back, even without Class Pass, sometime soon. read more

Incredibly rude staff, overbooked classes, and a badly maintained facility. I heard a yoga teacher yell at a new student who was walking into class as it was starting. Beginner classes come with little to no actual instruction. This studio almost turned me off of yoga for good. read more

Paid for this class for my first time in advance and couldn't find it, making me 5 minutes late. They locked all the doors and wouldn't answer the phone. The place is really small and very rude. I was looking for a great yoga place, this is obviously not the place. How stuck up. I drove 30 minutes and was so excited. Yoga is supposed to be something that welcomes and brings in people, this lady or man obviously doesn't do that. What a disappointment. Oh well wasn't meant to be. Great job locking people out I'm sure you don't want new members. How sad. Black swan yoga is a million times better. This place smelled weird and old anyways, parking was weird. It's really hard to find probably because they can't afford a decent building. read more

Yoga without pretension or judgement, amazing yogis, and exceptional instructors. A yoga studio is shaped by its instructors and its community. In the case of YoM, from my very first day, I felt welcomed into a mellow community of like minded yogis free of judgement or pretension. The studio is simple and clean, and the instructors exceptional and unique. It's beginner-friendly but keeps you challenged as your practice grows. The yoga itself tends toward Vinyasa/Hatha where each class is different. In fact, I can't recall going through the same class sequence twice. We all have good days and bad days. Feeling powerful? You're encouraged to add an extra flow or two. Out of gas? Take a child's pose. No one thinks less of you. Recovering from injury? Adjust as needed. It's all about how **you** feel in **your** body today. Personally, I believe that's how yoga should be. read more

If it weren't for this studio I wouldn't be making it through chiropractic school. Every time I walk in I feel like I can just let go of everything going on outside. Student prices are incredible. Have been going here a while now. I've practiced yoga for years and love warm/hot yoga but I struggle to find the right studio with quality instructors with schedules that work for me. This studio is like going into someone's house. I have taken the warm and hot power yoga with Shelly and Salena and they are both great instructors. I have tried most of the yoga studios around west Frisco and this is the most reasonable, best studio around. The location is good for me too. read more

Love this studio! I love the level 1 Gentle Yoga classes as I am not a huge hard cardio person! It's a nice balance between healthy stretching, self reflection & stress relief! I love this yoga studio. I am very particular about where I go to yoga because I battle a long-term disease that involves chronic pain. The teachers are so supportive (literally--Michelle held my hand to keep me balanced once) and give great tips. I have only been going for a few weeks now, but I absolutely love the atmosphere. A good friend of mine dragged me out and I was so worried that because it was in Frisco it would be a room full of judgement. Not one bit! I feel instantly calmer just by waking in. They have many different kinds of classes from beginner yoga to hot yoga. The instructors are all great in their own way and making coming to class a great experience. It is a bit hard to find, and parking in the front is tight. It's easier to park in the back and come in through the back door. They rent yoga mats and towels for a dollar each just in case you forget or don't have one. And I think the best part it's only $10 if you have a student ID, definitely the cheapest yoga place but it doesn't show. read more

I like that it's an intimate setting and that there are various classes to fit your mood. I like the times that they are offered as well because it makes it easy to fit into our busy schedules. This is my first experience at a Yoga studio and I absolutely LOVE it. I've been "trying" to start for a year, and finally joined. So glad I did! The owner is lovely, the instructors are fantastic, and the classes are just the perfect size. This studio does a great job in balancing the physical aspects of yoga, with the mindful practice as well. This is exactly the type of environment I've been looking for. I attended the Gentle Flow class with Michelle a few days ago and it was perfect. Lots of us that aren't so young any longer in that class -:) along with younger people. About 12 people total. Peaceful, calming, restoring, rejuvenating...all those words describe the class. I have a membership at a health club (Silver Sneakers) and they have HUGE classes in an ice cold room (following zumba classes). I went to classes taught by every instructor. They weren't bad but definitely not restorative. I left each class exhausted and was uncomfortably sore the following day. Not for me. I'm more interested in the mind-body connection. As for the reviewer complaining about locked doors? Yes! It's disturbing to others to have the class interrupted for people coming and going. They clearly state their locked door policy on their website. On the day I might arrive late? Well, too bad, so sad. I should have arrived on time. Great Place!!! read more

My wife and I tried several yoga studios before finding Yoga on Main. Salena and her expert staff of instructors have made YOM our yoga home. Regardless of who's teaching we both get an excellent practice with just the right mix of flow, stretching and vigorous work. The atmosphere immediately puts you in the proper frame of mind for a focused yoga practice while remaining relaxed and casual. We would highly recommend Yoga on Main to anyone regardless of their abilities. I have taken 3 classes so far and my experience has been enjoyable. I have not taken all instructors, only 3. I started with a gentle flow and my next visits increased to a Power Flow class. They offer from beginner to advanced and private lessons. The studio is simple, has a nice flow, people are very polite and welcoming, the instructors that I have seen will mention other versions from the basic to advanced. I love this place! I have been a member since 2009 when they first opened. I love the instructors and the classes. The atmosphere is super cozy and relaxing! They have a variety of classes so everyone can find the one that fits them best. They have classes early in the morning, during the lunch hour and also in the evenings.
