Pier yoga is always the relaxing me time that my body needs. Being over the ocean while doing yoga is something everyone should experience.

Yoga Salt is my escape. With yoga and public workouts in general, I need a clean and well put together environment where I can feel comfortable and relaxed. I almost need it to be luxurious in it's frame otherwise I'm consistently distracted, on edge and unmotivated to come back. I remember coming to my first class here right when they opened their doors and feeling so at ease. The staff weren't pushy or overbearing. The studios were spacious and well lit with natural light. The other guests coming to work out weren't cliquey or pushing you to chat with them. I had my space to get in my zone and feel good about my workout. Yoga means many different things to different people, but to me it's a conscious full body stretch and workout. I don't really enjoy the meditational side of some yoga practices, I don't sit still well and I don't like to hum or any of that, and I think Yoga Salt has a nice variation of classes for people like me and those with opposing preferences. This studio is known throughout the area for their quality, affordable teacher trainings. They're always coming out with new discounts, promos and giveaways for getting yogis certified at an incomparable rate. I personally have not gone through the teacher training programs but I know so many people who have and no one's said a bad thing about it. The owners, Victoria and Tamal, really just seem to want to provide a luxury service for an affordable rate. They offer $30 for your first month, student rates, military rates, and probably more I'm forgetting. Their teachers are highly qualified yogis and have such unique poses. I swear every class I attend I stretch a different way I hadn't stretched before. The entire experience is just so enjoyable and low stress. Even the parking is easy - they have a spacious lot in the back and tons of street parking out front + to the sides of the building. If you like yoga and believe in getting what you pay for, this is a great studio to check out and my top rec in Wilmington. read more

Later today I will be taking my 22nd class in 30 days. I decided to try out Yoga Salt with my wife using their 30 for 30 special. I haven't regretted it once. Off all the yoga studios I have tried in the USA and abroad this is perhaps my favorite. The only one that comes close is in Ubud, Indonesia. I came in one afternoon before their first practice and signing up was easy. The one suggestion I do have for the studio is during the signup process making the website or MindBody app usage easier to understand for the customer. It took me a few days to figure out how to sign up for a session online. I tried asking for help, but no one really could figure it out. That was the only negative during the whole month I spent coming here. Even though the staff couldn't figure it out they tried and were always pleasant to be around. I consider the practices harder than average, but there are tons of modifications that you can make to make a class easier. There are some truly awesome practitioners here who did some real awesome poses during my time visiting. Even with that said, the teachers are always positive and I never felt pressure to do something I couldn't do. You are in fact encouraged to take things at your pace and work up to more challenging poses. The teachers here will guide your practice so you get the most out of it. I know that I got better in certain areas thanks to their guidance. I think I took a class with every single teacher at the studio and each one was good. I took multiple practices with Sesa, Tamal, and Casey and loved them all. The practices are different too. Some studios title their names different and it ends up being the same, but not here. I wish I could have gone to more classes with Devin and Justin. I really enjoyed the mantras that each instructor had at the end of class. This is a great studio and if you are in the Wilmington area you should check it out. I am sad that I have to leave since I only live in Wilmington part of the year, but I know next time I am in town I have a solid studio to practice at. read more

I love Yelp Elite events for the simple fact that I get to try new and interesting businesses. Tonight's event was incredible. Dani set up a yoga class at the Yoga Salt Wilmington, which is located on the second floor of a new building by Benny's pizza and Satellite. It's a very clean and open studio, with plenty of floor space and a large garage door that appears to open. We were led through an hour long practice that worked on balance, core, and strength, while focusing on becoming centered. It was a solid practice, not overtly challenging, but flowed in a way that I didn't want to check my watch. The instructor was funny, which was a nice change and gave light to the class. This studio would definitely be a place I'd return to to practice. After class we were able to sample juices from Clean Juice, kumbacha, and a delicious vegan cashew cheesecake. That, plus a lunch cooler filled with goodies from EarthFare equates to a great Tuesday night. read more

My wife and I were in Wilmington for the week, and we wanted to continue with our Yoga practice. After researching studios in the area, we decided to sign up for a 30-day pass at Yoga Salt. It was highly rated and after taking classes, we can see why. The staff and teachers were very welcoming, and the studio was clean, bright, and spacious. There were a variety of classes that are conducive to all levels. The instructors ( Tamal, Layla, Lauren, and Elizabeth) were knowledgeable, approachable, and motivating. I moved to Wilmington during the pandemic, and one of the things I was most worried about was finding a studio to replace the one I loved and had been practicing at in northern Virginia for 6 years. I'm glad to say I've found it here. The studio is light and airy, the teachers are creative and welcoming, and the classes are somewhat unique. I've never seen a yin and yang split class before but it is now one of my favorites. A few questions I couldn't find answers to online before I started visiting the studio: -the studio is heated in the cooler months (though they have an awesome garage door that they open during the summer for some natural heat and humidity) -there are restrooms -there are no showers -there are no lockers (but there are cubbies) -to sign up for a monthly unlimited pass, you need to go in person as it's considered a contract read more
