I've written a much longer review of Yoga Vida's NoHo location, so I'll keep this one focused on Tribeca. This was the final Manhattan location, and in many ways it felt like the most charming. Even as so much of Lower Manhattan changed, this stretch of Tribeca always felt unusually quiet, residential, and permanent. I cherished walking to early morning classes through nearly empty streets before the city fully woke up. If NoHo was the heart of Yoga Vida, Tribeca felt like its most understated expression. It was the chic, sophisticated younger cousin: deeply committed to its craft, somewhat reclusive, and perfectly comfortable operating away from the spotlight. It probably wasn't the first Yoga Vida location you'd visit, but for many people, I suspect it became one of the most memorable. The space itself fit the neighborhood perfectly. The street-level windows with curtains gave it a private feel, while the exposed steel X added a bit of industrial New York character. Some people occasionally criticized it, but I never understood why. It had virtually no impact on the class experience, yet it made the room feel distinctive. Because the studio was both smaller and newer, the infrared heating system worked especially well. Winter classes here were incredibly cozy. One thing I appreciated was the range of teachers and class experiences. During peak hours, some of Yoga Vida's most experienced instructors taught packed classes that felt both polished and quintessentially Tribeca. At quieter times, newer and rising teachers were given opportunities in that same prestigious room. The studio even hosted instructors from other cities, including Philadelphia. That willingness to develop talent always felt consistent with Yoga Vida's culture. My favorite mornings often ended with a walk to Gotan for a scrambled cheddar biscuit, hot sauce, and a coffee after class. It became one of those simple New York rituals that seem insignificant at the time but grow more meaningful in memory. There was also something uniquely full circle about this location for me. My 13-year run living below 23rd Street began at 40 Harrison Street in Tribeca and, in many ways, ended practicing here. I didn't realize it at the time, but it was a fitting final chapter. Looking back, this was likely my last Yoga Vida chapter before COVID and before life changed in a hundred different ways. I'm grateful I got to experience it when I did. This is Yoga Vida's smallest location. Only one studio, two small bathrooms and two small changing rooms. The studio itself though is quite large. Despite the small size, the studio maintains the same calm and cool vibe that all the other locations have. It's always stocked well with Yoga props, blankets, blocks and straps and everything in the studio is very clean. Even though hot classes are offered here, I never smell that hot yoga, nasty sweat smell. Highly recommend Yoga Vida. read more

Yoga Vida - Tribeca - Single studio @ TriBeCa - Yoga Near Me - New York, New York

A quiet sanctuary of a studio on the parkour floor ( just above the street in a large studio rom with super high ceilings ) of a. Loft building in west Tribeca. It's affordable and the classes are taught by a range of talent staff with differing styles and approaches. After work and weekend classes are more popular than the early morning so make a reservation ahead of time. Depending on who is teaching class they may be corrections ( helping you with the pose ) or not. Classes are open. So all levels are accepted. You can drop in for a single class or purchase a monthly ( 3 mos commitment) pass. Bring your own Matt and Towel or rent these at the studio. Some of the classes use heated a room. Terrific studio. Spacious and clean, with high ceilings and lots of windows. I've taken a few classes and I plan to add this to my recurring activities for sure. Instruction is top-notch, really good, positive energy here. The check-in is quick and the entrance is on Vestry St. There are cubbies for your stuff, and a few changing rooms. The studio is on the ground level, but there isn't a lot of street traffic or pedestrians walking by so no need to worry about noise. read more

I mean, it's a pretty studio but the staff is pretty rude. It just seemed pretty business focused and not client focused at all- they time the classes so that if you'd like to hang out and get to know people (you know, community???) there's only about 5 minutes to do that before the instructors start to yell to be quiet. The class was fine but nothing that would separate it from the other thousand classes in the city. read more

Let me start by saying that this is my favorite yoga studio in New York. It's super clean and the instructors are amazing!!! I took pretty much all of their classes within first 14days of my unlimited pass promo and decided to join monthly. My only advice is to get little earlier to studio to reserve a good spot because the back right corner is kinda hidden and hard to see the instructor from there. Also I took once prenatal class and it wasn't my fave due to the instructor. She liked to do a lot of talking and wanted everyone to say something about their pregnancy which I didn' t like. But that's my personal view because when I go to yoga I like to work out instead of seating on the floor and sharing my experiences of my pregnancy. Yoga Challenge 32 days ago I've decide to start a 30 day non stop Yoga Challenge. I must say, it was life changing for me. I feel much stronger, healthier and with a great positive mind set. Needles to say; it's bikini season bitches and I'm so confident with my body results! I go to Tribeca studio everyday! And I never had one class that I didn't liked. Beautiful studio! Location is a long and confusing walk from Canal Street, but well worth the trip. The "heated" classes are not very hot - I was sticky, but not dripping sweat. I wish they could provide descriptions of each instructor's style. You could tell some are trained in Vinyasa, while others may have trained in Bikram or alignment. I found Nathan's class to be especially relaxing. read more

I've been to a variety of yoga classes in NYC and while this is a very nice, unique space, the class itself is not very inviting to beginners and felt quite elitist (the instructor often only used the Sanskrit terms). The class itself is just as challenging as many of the other studios I've practiced within the city, and while I was able to follow along with the instructor, I felt bad for the beginners who clearly had trouble following the flow. The space could definitely use an adjustment - there is no water fountains on site and there aren't any lockers. Yoga Vida markets itself as being part of the "1% for the planet members" yet when I asked if I could refill my reusable water bottle at the front desk, the attendee said that I could purchase a plastic bottle for $1 as there are no fountains on the premises (and the bathroom taps are too low to fill a bottle). If you're looking to give Yoga Vida a go, I recommend you head to the Dumbo location! read more

This place is so great! I love the location, the place itself is a relaxing atmosphere, and the instructor with assistants were so helpful! The class I had was small; there was the instructor and two assistants. The assistants were able to come around and adjust our positions; I've never been to a yoga place where this has occurred. I highly recommend Yoga Vida, if you're an advanced yogi this place is perfect for you. I am definitely coming back for more classes in the future! read more

For some reason, this studio decided to erect a huge X-shaped structure in the middle of the room, which prevents people in one of the back corners of the room from seeing the instructor! For the one class I took here, I happened to be in the back right corner and found it very hard to follow the instructor because I could not see what she was doing at the front. On top of this, the instructor went pretty fast through many of the sequences, often calling out poses by their Sanskrit names only, making it even more difficult for beginners to figure out what was going on. Would not try this studio again. read more

I've been taking classes here every time I'm in NY and I really love the space. It's clean with a great vibe. Feels like a hidden gem where you can get away from the stress of the city. Friendly front staff with an easy check in too. I like all the teachers but I specifically try to go to Meghan, Connie and Allie's classes. They're great and are particularly warm and thoughtful. Especially love Allie's restorative class, it's a super relaxing lovely class. So glad I found this studio! read more

Very Clean bare-bones work out space. And I say work out because this is power yoga with out the ohmmmm yogi / hindu stuff attached to it. Staff is very friendly and welcoming. Air ventilation system works very well. Room temperature felt comfortable. Bathrooms are clean. There is no on site shower, my advice- you can bring a change of clothes, they have changing rooms on site...just shower when you get home. read more

This peaceful yoga studio is housed in a high ceilinged large windowed wooden floored loft a block east from the Hudson River. The spacious spare and modern vibe matches the straightforward practice and aethetic of the foyer, changing rooms and bathrooms. When I came across the studio and to inquire about taking a class I was invited to enroll in the 2 week pack of classes at a discount rate which is an excellent way to test out the studio. After a few days of classes I was hooked. The pricing is low. However you will need to either bring a matt and a towel or "rent" these for a small fee. Recommend you dress in lightweight yoga wear if you are taking a heated class. The heat is low (not like Bikram-Hot Yoga) and the bit of heat helped me ease into poses more readily and relaxed my mind. The first class of the day are the ones I attend and are typically not crowded. The after-work classes typically fill-up and the full class provides a more vigorous experience. Class goers are polite and make room for everyone when class is full. 90% of the teaches are excellent Kids, prenatal and beginner classes are also offered. The manager and staff are all fun, upbeat, professional and extremely welcoming, accomidating and helpful making this an all around great place to be a part of. read more

I think their classes are good and the price is reasonable for NY. I like the spacey studio unlike other small ones where people are next to each other. The classes feel a bit rushed and sometimes I wish there were things we worked on more, feeling to need to work out more. The room temperature can be a bit higher to intensify the 1hour practice maybe, but I know that depends on preferences. read more

I love Yoga Vida!! The classes are dynamic and challenging, and open to all levels. The timing with 65 minutes is perfect. I especially liked the instructors Jess and Lindsay. Staff is very nice and helpful, prices are fair. I can highly recommend!! read more

Ok. Some people commented on X-shaped beam and small studio space. It doesn't bother me at all. I thought studio was beautiful and X beam was kind of cool. What really bothered me was the incredible rudeness of the front desk lady. I don't know if she's the owner but if she is, she's losing customers. I see some people commented on the staffs. I tried Yoga Vida on my very first class pass. I liked the class so much. I found out they offer intro special package so I signed up. So, on my second time, the front desk lady practically yelled at me like "Don't do it again because you're not really a first customer." I understand what she's trying to say but she was treating me like a criminal. If she was trying to make me understand that was not the policy, I would've just cancel my intro offer. I mean, I can go to other yoga studios because there are so many good heated flow studios with nicer people, for example, Yoga Spark. At this point, I don't really want to utilize their intro offer and stop going just to call it even. Not a good customer service at all. read more

So appreciative to have discovered this jewel of a yoga studio! The initial 2 week unlimited class for $25 is the perfect way to become acquainted with the studio, teachers and classes offered. The ground floor studio feels so organic and easy to navigate--cubbies for your possessions, storage for your mat, smoothest, easiest check-in, all seamless and smooth in function. The teachers are excellent, and as a beginner I can feel progress and strength, slowly but surely. Particularly appreciative of Lindsay Hilscher who is a superb teacher, along with Prerna Bhatia, and the instructives of great restorative classes. This is vinyasa flow yoga teaching at its best.
