Spend a week at the Yoga Maya Studio and attended 5 classes so far as I purchased a new student unlimited month trial for $45. Price is reasonable given you can attend as many classes you would like or even multiple times in the same day! I tried the hot hatta, inferno hot Pilates, & yin yoga class couple of times each with instructor Kendra J and she's AMAZING! Super easy to book classes and space is clean with plenty of materials that is needed for class but you do have to bring your own yoga mat, water, and towel. But if you happen to not have one or forget.. they have some for rent for reasonable price as well. I highly recommended this place because instructor is great in explaining and showing poses and even challenge those who are more advanced. So it doesn't get boring and is always challenging but in a good way! read more

This is a great place to take Yoga. I'm a beginner student instructors were very good at demonstrating modifications. I like that they have Sunday evening classes. I've been going to Yogamaya Studio since around the beginning of the year and it has been a game changer for me. Like everyone else, I was looking to get more fit as a New Year's resolution and was tired of doing the same old gym routine every other day. After a couple weeks of doing the classes, I could already see a difference in how toned my body was getting and to top it all off, my skin never looked better! My sister and I signed up for the 2-week unlimited trial ($25) and took advantage of the classes available throughout those 2 weeks. By the end of it, I ended up signing up for the monthly membership ($89 for auto-pay with a 3-month minimum) because I was going so often that it wasn't worth it to pay the $17 drop-in fee every time. Unless you plan on going once a week or so, the membership is definitely worth it! They have a lot of different classes throughout the week, but since I work M-F 8-5, I can only go to the night classes and the weekend classes. My absolutely favorite is the Hot Vinyasa Flow (75min). William and Nick are fabulous instructors and it's always a new experience every time. I also go to Sarah and Linda's Hot Hatha (90min) classes on the weekend if I have time. I do want to try out Yin Yoga which I've heard great reviews about and some of the other ones if I can make more of the morning classes. Even with the COVID-19 shutdowns, they are still offering virtual classes which is awesome. Definitely check this place out if you're looking to try out hot yoga in Vacaville! read more

I bought the 10 class Groupon for $45. Great deal! Registered online and signed up for class that next day! Check in was flawless. Groupon worked as easy. The shop is very cute and inviting. Clean and neatly organized. If you need mat, towel, water they hand on hand. Not sure if for rent or complimentary? Amy gave me a tour and explained how everything worked. Attended the Foundational Yoga taught by Amy. The room was semi warm so for me I was sweating but it was good. It was with beginning yoga poses and deep stretching which was great for me. It was slow pace but good for me. So Amy put in some meditation which was so relaxing after my muscles were burning but a good burn. read more

I was looking for a yoga studio nearby my hotel as I was in town for a wedding. I was able to locate several studios in the area through the MINDBODY app, but Akasha Yoga totally resonated with me. I mean, how do you pass up on a yoga studio called Akasha?! Yes... let's go there. Anyway, the check-in process went by smoothly. Nick, who was also the instructor of the class, briefed me about the amenities around the studio. He also offered a complimentary towel and mat since I was a first timer at Akasha Yoga. I thought that Nick was an awesome instructor in general. He held space for a lighthearted and enjoyable class. I liked that he cracked jokes, which helped us to remember to smile, laugh, and not take ourselves too seriously. He has great taste in music by the way! The class I took was an all-levels Vinyasa Flow class. Nick started off the class with grounding and centering through breath. He then led a series of beautiful flows (around 3-4 unique flows). The class ended with some floor stretching that were in the style of yin yoga, because we were holding the poses for a few minutes. What I appreciated about Nick's teaching style was that he offered modifications in case you were feeling pain in some areas or even wanted to deepen your practice. I was able to get in some arm balances and inversions in today's practice. I would highly recommend checking out Akasha Yoga if you're in the area as well as drop in one of Nick's classes. read more

Last night I took the Yin yoga class with my daughter. In my 25years of or practicing yoga. That was the best class I've ever been to. Nick is an excellent instructor. I love the extra details and information he uses to explain all of what yoga encompasses. The music and frequency was spot on. We even took away lessons on how to stay yin even when other peoples energy disrupts you. Staying still in tough moments and breathing through it. This is key in keeping balance in life. My daughter and I are both very Yang. We go non stop. This was a powerful class for us and we were able to completely disconnect. Namaste Nick. We will be back. read more

I'm not sure if its fair for me to review Yogamaya since I only attend one class, however, every time I am in town I always drop-in to take Nick's Inferno Pilates class. His class is challenging enough to help you build strength, but not so challenging that you cannot do the exercises. He seems like a well seasoned teacher, in that his cues are clear, his sequences are smart, he knows his anatomy, and he is very encouraging. His classes are always fun! The studio: The practice room is big, and looks like it can hold a lot of people. The studio also looks very clean. The heat is not too hot--I would say it is warm, maybe around 85-90 degrees (just right in my opinion). The only suggestion I would make to the studio is investing in lockers or a place to safely store your personal belongings. They do have cubbies clients can use however nothing secure to store your wallet, keys, etc. in during practice. I'm sure it is a very safe studio, but it always makes me feel a little uncomfortable leaving my belongings unlocked. read more

I am so addicted to this place! I am brand new to Yoga, it can be intimidating to start or know what class and what to do. I have put it off for many years. Recently, I started a mindfulness training and the foundation of the body opened my eyes to how disconnected I was to my body and experience. I decided Yoga might be a place to practice and achieve more connection for that foundation of mindfulness. I went here on a whim as a friend wanted to try it out. I was not even completely familiar with hot Yoga?!?! Let's just say after the first class I was hooked! Amazing experience, and exactly what I was needing, looking for. I have tried a few instructors already and all have been exceptional, even the "subs". The space is not bad could use a little more care and better esthetics. The prices are also very reasonable and I appreciate their military discounts. You can drop in, buy a few sessions or go unlimited. I've never been much of a Yoga fan. I kept trying classes because everyone else raved about them, but really, I'm not into the quiet, relaxing Yoga. I always imagined that I'd be a fan of hot yoga because it would be harder and more heart pumping. So when Akasha Yoga opened up in Vacaville, I jumped to give it a try. Let's get this straight: it's HARD. I'm a runner and also go to the gym, and man, this wipes me out. I sweat like I've never sweat before. Sometimes I slip on my sweat. Sometimes I feel like i'm going to pass out. But I always feel AMAZING afterwards, like I got a full body massage and stretch out. I'm gaining strength and flexibility. It's complimentary to my running. There are two different TYPES of classes - Hatha and Vinyasa. The Hatha is the traditional Bikram yoga practice, a very regimented routine and no music. Vinyasa classes are different every time and include "flow" yoga like sun salutations. I enjoy both classes for different reasons, and try to alternate them. I tried the intro special (10 days for $20) and then decided to purchase the 10 class card for $110 (so, $11 per class). That pricing scheme works better for me than an unlimited pass because I do other workouts as well. That way if I miss a week or go only once, I don't feel as if I'm wasting my money. I am so happy I found this studio. About a year ago, I signed up for a two week trial. I didn't know what to expect. I hadn't tried yoga before, and I was out of shape. I thought it would be uncomfortable. Right before this, I had tried a rather judgmental Zumba class and had been discouraged. The instructors I've taken (Nick, Laura, Frankie) have been outstanding. Nick always tells us - meet yourself where you are. I did just that and gave myself credit for going and trying. My first class with Laura in Hatha, I couldn't finish it. I had to sit on my mat towards the end. No one was mean about it. No one made me feel bad. I kept going and going. During covid, I have done virtual. We are back and social distancing! I think yoga kept me sane during this tumultuous time. I've had something to look forward to even if it was virtual. I had something to dedicate positive energy towards. Nick always looks happy to see us! Laura is such a helpful instructor. Frankie is a beam of sunshine! Those early morning classes with Frankie aren't the easiest, but she's so positive and nice, it's hard to stay sleepy. This is a wonderful and positive place! I am grateful I found them. I had one of the worse yoga experiences here as I felt singled out and discriminated against multiple times. I tried heavily not to make it about race, as Vacaville is notable for its racist residents. Unfortunately, the last straw for me was when I was asked if my hair would be okay in the heated session. Wow! What a 180 experience! Very pleased with my recent adventure at Akasha for a Hot Vinyasa Class via the $25 two week unlimited pass. Met one of the new owners who was super nice and friendly at check-in. We chatted about the studio, the classes and even acknowledged that they have the same brand yoga towel I have! I went into the 86 degree room to meet Will who was a phenomenal instructor. Friendly, motivating and honest, Will takes the time to do poses with you while encouraging you to focus on yourself... reminding us that we were always getting stronger. A few years back I bought a Groupon for Akasha yoga with the mindset that I'd like to supplement my weight lifting routine with hot yoga. Needless to say, I went to one class and didn't return because of how challenging the practice was! These classes simply do not compare to the yoga or pilates classes offered at some of the health clubs here in Vacaville. Fast forward to the end of last year, I was feeling very much so out of shape and felt I needed to add something new to my workout routine other than weight lifting and cardio. I went in on a limb and bought the unlimited month to month membership, even before attending a class again. That night I took Vinyssa Flow Yoga with Leila. Although I was new to the practice, never once did I feel lost or uncomfortable. The classes at Akasha really are designed to cater to every skill level. Today I attend Akasha about three times a week and there is no other studio that compares to the skill level of these instructors. My favorite class is Inferno Hot Pilates taught by Nick Daskalos. Nick has great energy and encourages you to challenge yourself without over doing it. The class itself is extremely challenging but you will become addicted when you start to see the results in your body. I would highly recommend Akasha Yoga to friends and family. read more

My favorite instructors were probably Amy and Will because I feel like both went the extra mile to make sure that every student was doing well. My only complaint would probably be that the bathroom situation is a little less than ideal since the toilet is just separated by a curtain from the rest of the locker room area. read more

I was a little over my normal weight after having 4 kids. I needed to get back into my bikini before I headed to Maui this Summer. I changed my eating habits and I started to hit the gym. After a few months, I plateaued on my weight loss. I knew I had to change something. I tried the new client special that they were having and, no joke, within the first week I saw a dramatic change in my figure. I wasn't so concerned with weight loss but more of my physique. If you must know, I lost 6lbs in a few days. It was amazing. Of course, everyone's results will differ but just being able to practice hot yoga made a huge difference. The instructors are super friendly. The morning classes were the best to start your day off. Bring your own mat and yoga towel and lots of water. I never realized my arms could sweat! Come early to class to acclimate yourself to the temperature. Listen to your body. If it's too much, just sit it out, but don't leave the room. Best cardio ever. read more

I first learned of Akasha through a Groupon deal - and I was SO THRILLED to find a yoga studio in Vacaville! I purchased the Groupon, and then when I arrived, I also found out that in addition to my Groupon, I could purchase an unlimited month of classes for $29 - SUPER cheap! This offer is extended to all new students. I highly recommend giving it a shot, even if you think hot yoga might not be your thing. So in the past, I've done regular yoga, but hot yoga steps up the intensity and is supposed to help improve your flexibility as you practice. I absolutely love it - every time I go to a class, I'm convinced that I'm massively detoxing my body. Here are my recommendations: Hot Hatha with Jamie or Laura - great for beginners who don't know poses - the poses are static. The temperature is hotter though, so be prepared for that (usually around ~105 degrees). This class is very structured, the same postures are repeated in the same order and for the same time durations every class. There is no music, and lights are on. Hot Vinyasa - flow yoga - a little cooler temperature (~90-95 degrees) because you're on the move throughout the class. The lights are usually dimmed, and there is music. Great for relaxation / stress relief. Felicia is my favorite instructor, I love her Wednesday night classes - I look forward to them all week! She does a great job of reminding us that our bodies can do a lot more than we think - she pushes us to push ourselves. She also reminds me that my body is my temple, and I need to let go of harmful and negative thoughts. For me, it really enhances my practice. Krista is also a fabulous teacher, and I love that she lights candles for her class. Hot Summits - my personal favorite class, because it's a really nice blend between Hatha and Vinyasa. Some quiet moments and static postures, and some music and flow yoga. Dustin is excellent - super personable, and he does the best job of verbally explaining the postures, and he uses common names as well as the Sanskrit names. With ALL of the instructors at Akasha, you get a personalized feel - they remember your name, they give you individual and specific feedback for adjustments to your postures. You don't feel like one of the masses. Even the bathroom has special touches - shampoo, lotion, and other personal care products for your use. Also, this yoga studio is not just for women - lots of men attend classes too! I've been doing hot yoga at Akasha for two months now - and I have seen noticeable changes in my body, and I also feel better - I have greater flexibility, and I sleep much deeper. So give Akasha a try, you will not be disappointed - get ready to SWEAT IT OUT! read more
