After trying to eat at Cellars we ventured down this tiny town to Yogi's per Yelp reviews. Our waitress was nice and efficient. We were disappointed that they didn't have fried green tomatoes in stock. However, they did have fried Bella mushrooms. The ambiance is a casual mountain feel and dog-themed in honor of Yogi who is the owner's dog! On the patio, they have local live music. To top things off the turtle cheesecake!! New place for us to try. The food was great and the gumbo was good but not the traditional way it's made. The grouper sandwich was good grilled but would have been better fried. It was a choice and we went the wrong route. Additional for Mac and cheese and not disclosed. Service was slow and no refills. The decor is all about dogs as the owner must have a dog named Yogi! Garlic Shrimp app was a little hot but I tolerable...I can't do too hot. Ordered pork chop special and shrimp & grits. Flavor, texture & temperature were spot on! Everything was exceptional! Can't say enough of how great it all was. Service was great! Waitress gave us a nice warm welcome. I overheard the waiter next to us with great courtesy. Our first time eating at Yogi's and it was a great experience. My wife had the fried shrimp and I had the grouper . Both were cooked great with a light breading and you could tell this was not a frozen product that was just dropped into the fryer. The fries were great too. Well seasoned. The wait staff was very friendly and attentive. Took a look at the breakfast menu and will be trying it very soon. Menu is small but from what I can see and hear from folks that have eaten breakfast there it will be great. We have found our go too place now in downtown Murphy. read more

I ordered the breakfast with ham. I specifically asked if the ham was country ham. They said it was. It was not. I complained and was offered an alternative meat (I chose bacon). However the grits were cold and the biscuits overcooked and hard on the bottom. When I complained all I got was pushback from the manager. I also complained that the ladies room smelled like sewage and was told that they were aware but nothing could be done about it. read more

Server was nice. Atmosphere fine with music at just the right volume. Food came out quick & hot. The staff seemed pretty chill hanging out round bar on a relaxing Sunday. Not that they were slack just seemed to be a comfortable working together. One thing I was very disappointed with is that I specifically asked for no mushrooms which the cooking staff chose to ignore. Our women's group went to Yogi's for breakfast this morning, and it was delicious. The sausage gravy had chunks of sausage in it, the biscuits were big and fluffy, and my veggie omelette was huge. Went here for the first time since changing from Perone's and had a great lunch. Sat at the bar and had a couple of beers with my wife and had the grouper nuggets and wife had wings. Ben g from Fl, finding real grouper can be tough up here. Come to find the owner is also from Fl and the nuggets were spot on. Wife's wings were extremely crispy and also great. She said her side salad was also very good. We will def return to try more options. read more

Went at 4:30 with a party of 6. We were sat right away but it got to be a full house shortly afterwards. We ordered the mussels first but the juice they were made in was the hit. Everyone kept dipping their bread in it till it was gone! Their Southern Lawn Cooler cocktail was very tasty! Amazing food!!! Me and my boyfriend and sister came while we're on vacation and it was the best food we've had on vacation. The service was amazing! And the place was a chill place. We stopped here on the way back from a day in Cherokee. This cute restaurant was so good! We had the brussel sprouts as an appetizer which were roasted and yummy. For dinner I had 8 jumbo shrimp with a honey glaze very unique and tasty. My husband had shrimp scampi pasta which was also perfection! Our service was fast by a sweet lady named Imy. Reviewing for my family. They had lunch at this establishment today and were pleasantly surprised to see the special was a grouper sandwich. Items ordered included the special, pasta Yogi, grilled Chicken sandwich, and turtle cheesecake for dessert. Family says they were impressed with both the quality of their meal and the price. We had a party of 8 for dinner tonight. Our server was great, except for spilling hot marinara sauce off a plate onto one of our party. Two had steak dinners that were good. Chicken tenders were over cooked. Another of us had the seared salmon, very good. Two had the veal parm that they enjoyed, but for the sauce sliding off the plate. I had the veal picatta, also good. The rolls were good. Fresh & hot. Finally the last member of our party ordered a simple cheeseburger that never got made right. The server sent it back to the kitchen 4 times, seeing it was wrong, so it never made it to the table. In fact, we were all finished, table cleared & were leaving when it was placed in the window, plated and burnt. The chef was rude suggesting my husband could come in & cook it himself because they were busy! The manager was very apologetic, as was our server. Doubt any of us will go back. read more

What has happened to this place? We have gone there every Wednesday for years especially for chicken wings. We continued to go under new ownership. We love the staff and the new owners are very nice. Last night we waited 30 minutes for wings. When we finally got them they were not done. The owner came to our table and told us the kitchen cooked them right.? Put in another order and another 25 minutes and still not crisp the way we have gotten them for years now! no offer of compensation,an alcoholic beverage would've been nice while we waited. The place was empty so other people must be experiencing the same thing. We have given them enough of our time and money. Won't be going back. read more

Perrones was our first real dinner time meal while visiting Murphy. Up to this point, we had been eating lunch late and just splitting sandwich's I was ready for something more substantial after a week of hiking! We ordered the chicken parm, the chicken Marsala and a house salad. I would order that chicken parm again and again! Small rolls with real butter came with the meals. The side salad was actually pretty big and I would get it again minus the black olives. I love black olives but these were not good. The chicken Marsala paled compared to the chicken parm but I would give it a 4 out of 5. The chicken was tender and the sauce was good. I would really like to try the chicken piccata next time. Try this place...takeout was efficient and friendly. read more

Our favorite restaurant in Murphy. Even though the Perrone name is gone, the food is still consistent and the staff is the same friendly people. It is also not too large of a restaurant, which makes it quaint. They don't take reservations but do have call ahead seating. We love it! read more

The drinks, the food and the service are great! I had the ribeye with mushrooms, peppers and onions and my husband had the veal scallopini which he really enjoyed. Salads were large and very fresh. While vacationing in Murphy, NC we found this fantastic family-owned authentic Italian restaurant! At 5:30 on a week day it was packed with a wait list! We were lucky and got seated quickly. Our server was quick to take our drink orders and explain the daily specials. Their wine list was quite good and we made our selections which we enjoyed. Then came the food! Our table enjoyed homemade fettuccine Alfredo with blackened chicken, Chicken Parmesan, and Chicken Piccata long with Caesar salads and a house salad with homemade blue cheese dressing that was excellent! Do your self a favor: Use call ahead seating! This place is new and they have delicious fresh food. The word is out and everyone is trying them. The building is way too small for the amount of business which they do. If they keep it up, they will need to triple the size. You will not be dissapointed with your visit here.
