If you look up hidden gem in the dictionary, you'll find this place. I was impressed with the quality, the portion size, and the price. I'm actually amazed that the Ben & Jerry's around the corner is still in business. They're charging twice as much and you're getting half as much as you'd get at Yogurt Pump.

We went on a Friday night and honestly I guess that was the mistake. We waited in line for like 15 to 20minutes and honestly, it was pretty disappointed with the lack of variety of flavors. They had a grand total of like 6 that I could see on the machines. On top of that the smallest size was almost 5 dollars. Overall, the chocolate one was good, but it was just as good as chocolate ice cream you'd get at a tub at the store. Personally, I probably wouldn't be back just because there are so many other options for frozen treats without the wait and better quantity for price. They had a cute ambience and it was pretty clean- I think it's just a little bit overrated like most of the old places have become hallmarks of Chapel Hill Franklin st. Just because it's old doesn't mean it's that great in my opinion. I will say I do want to give them credit that they always have coupons and sales going on which I do think that that is a great way to bring in business.

First time trying this place! I loved my vanilla yogurt! And the toppings of gummy bears/worms were amazing! Will absolutely come back on my next trip to NC!

It's a small shop hidden in an alley, but with the number of people coming in and out of the store, it is not hard to spot. They had some 6 flavours, that I really liked, we could taste a few before making our decision. We chose to get two flavours - cheesecake and raspberry pomegranate. It was mix of sweet and tart and I really enjoyed the combination. The guy behind the counter was also sweet and helpful. In all, if you're in the area and craving some FroYo, this is a great spot to visit.

This is a one of a kind hole in a wall place for sure! I have never seen a place serve fro-yo the way these guys do. You get to pick a cup size, then pick how many flavors you want in it and then choose some toppings. The server fills the cup for you so you dont pay by weight, instead they habe fixed prizes by cup/flavours/toppings. We chose to get cheesecake and strawberry with no toppings and loved it. We got the medium and was sufficient to satiate our sweet tooth without being too heavy. The server was very kind and heled us in deciding what we wanted and narrow down our choices. It is a typical college restaurant with just food that matters!

Best dessert place on Franklin St! Each time I visit there's a new assortment of unique flavours, such as pumpkin pie, peanut butter, peach cobbler- as well as your classic flavors too. They'll also have special deals every Wednesday!

It was a nice frozen yogurt spot. I only wanted one topping but the price was the same for 1-3, so no thanks. Got the cookies and cream it was good. The server was nice. I like the decorations inside. Go try them.

This is when Yelp is a HUGE help while traveling out of town. Thanks to the Yelp community this gem was found as well as a multitude of places along the Franklin strip in ChapelHill. We stopped in here after a long day at soccer camp. They have plenty of flavors and gluten free options labeled. This is a must stop if you love ice cream!

This family owned business was such a sweet treat! It's very tucked away right off of the Main Street. I was so excited when they had one non-dairy vegan option Blueberry popsicle. And it was amazing! The flavors change often. The homemade waffle cone was equally impressive, delicious! The prices were inexpensive and staff was friendly! I would definitely recommend this place. I may go back before I leave.

Can't go wrong, I've come here once and got vanilla with chocolate sprinkles. Service is quick, and it's a cute joint with good frozen yogurt! Inside was clean, it's not large inside but there's no need for it to be. There's a couple places to sit outdoors as well.

Yogurt Pump (aka YoPo) is a Tar Heel tradition! This is not a self serve/pay by weight yogurt and toppings place, FYI. I chose the vanilla base and added strawberries and cheesecake bites. They had a solid selection of toppings, along with I believe 8 frozen yogurt base options. The guy taking orders was nice and friendly. My only complaint about YoPo.... I wish they would layer the toppings! I got a medium and the bottom 3/4 of my yogurt didn't have any toppings. Thankfully it was still delicious on its own, but I think layering the toppings would for sure take this to 5 stars!

Cheesecake cookie butter gelato with chocolate froyo

Yogurt Pump has made me realize that I probably won't be going to any other froyo place. Normally, I'd choose ice cream or gelato over froyo, because a lot of chain froyo places serve very icy, watery froyo. Not the case with Yogurt Pump. Their yogurt is so creamy, that it almost tastes like gelato. The servers are also super nice about letting you sample all the different flavors before ringing you up. I got the cheesecake flavor my first time coming here, and I was blown away with how light and flavorful it was. The small size was just enough to satisfy my sweet tooth without making me super groggy or heavy from all the sugar. I love/hate that it's local to North Carolina. The place has a cute hole-in-the-wall charm; unfortunately, that means I won't be able to get more froyo unless I'm visiting my friend in NC. Nevertheless, this is a place is a must-visit, especially if you're walking through UNC Chapel Hill's campus.

Yopo has been a constant in chapel hill for soooo many years now, and it's no wonder why. You should definitely stop in if your in the area.

If you're as indecisive as I am, they'll gladly let you sample a few before committing. The shop itself is bright, clean, and welcoming, with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. The colorful decor and festive atmosphere make it a fun place to sit and enjoy your ice cream rather than just grabbing it to go. The hardest part was choosing from all the unique flavors. Everything I sampled was delicious, and the scoop I ended up with was rich, creamy, and packed with flavor. You can tell they put a lot of thought into creating combinations that are both creative and genuinely tasty. Whether you're a local or just visiting Durham, Jeni's is absolutely worth a stop for a sweet treat. Great ice cream, great atmosphere, and even better customer service. Bonus points for making a birthday afternoon feel a little more special.

They accidentally gave me the milk chocolate ice cream (pictured here) and later swapped it out for darkest when I asked. The ice cream is mediocre in my opinion and leans on the sweeter side. The ambiance and seating in here is plentiful. I came here with 10+ colleagues and we ended up sitting at the high top bar, not pictured. My main qualm with Jeni's is the temperature inside the store; it was freezing inside even though I was fully dressed in business casual with a sweater.
