    Watermelon Froyo
    James W.

A lovely froyo shop with 8 different flavors and a wide range of toppings. Some of which are VERY fresh, since they're kept in a cooler with a lid. Although their pineapple is canned, they have fresh strawberries and kiwis! Prices can be a little higher than other places (I paid $12 for my cup), but the attendant was super friendly and attentive. After we put toppings on and paid, he went back to clean the area, which is such a good sign. They have nice indoor and outdoor dining areas and as mentioned before, the facilities appear clean and well-maintained.

We found this place on the way to visit the Sac Children's museum. The employees were very kind and my kids loved the selection of toppings! I would much rather go here because it's locally owned.

Excited to see it was under new management, but nothing really changed. Almost nothing in the interior has changed. It's the same flavors (chocolate, vanilla, coffee, peanut butter, strawberry, cotton candy (with a peach picture by it, so maybe peach flavored?), and tart) and all the same toppings (still great that's theres a lot of options). However, the decor and atmosphere was the same, if not worse. We came in at 4pm in the summer and it was so dark by the dispensers. It'd be something if there was more natural light, but it was kind of dreary. There was no music, only the sound of the fridges and yogurt machines. I got the cappuccino and belgium chocolate and both tasted fine, but it was super soft serve which caused it to already be half melted by the time we finished paying. This place feels like it's been here forever. I have fond memories coming here and it's definitely a highlight of the community. I wish they can bring a bit more to the table because they're beaten out by Menchie's or pinkberry easily.

the cashier insisted that is how froyo should look like. ice bits were in the choc froyo we threw

RUN. PS. Look at the picture, check out the consistency. I say run, right away. Not for your life but for another froyo at any given frozen yogurt joint. I'm not here to ever make a business feel bad, but if it need a smack on the back like this one for educating a customer that ate froyo since it first was introduce to earth, that's just not right. You can look at the picture and see that the consistency was not there. And, when we arrived at the door, the place was half lit. The chocolate ice cream we threw away had the consistency of poop. We were hoping it was just that particular flavor that's out of what but no, no, no, the berry froyo and another flavor (I don't even remember it, I'm too traumatized). They were just as bad. I had a bite but decided not to continue in case I get the runs. I went up to the cashier and let her know that the froyo doesn't look right, most probably it wasn't cold enough. I showed her my froyo and she said the consistency is normal. She insisted it was cold and frozen yogurt suppose to look like that. She could have offered kind words and say, let me check" or "the machine may be down, I sorry, don't worry, let me have them and you don't have to pay for that..." instead she said it again, it's cold. That's how froyo look like. Nano, Nano, nano, if I'm alien and have never ever tasted or seen a frozen yogurt before, then I'll buy her explanation. She charged us $5.29 for a 3 mere dollops of poops. We paid, threw away the froyo (don't want to get sick just for the 5.29) and went a few blocks down to Menchies right on Olson. Yum. That made our day. We should have just picked Menchies in the first place. Thinking that perhaps we go to our old froyo place... duh.

Nice little place with good selection. The guy who runs this store is super nice and makes you feel welcome right away. How doesn't love frozen yogurt! There are about 8 choices that you pick which and how much into your container. There are plenty of toppings to chose from. Great stop for a treat.

Not high quality yogurt or toppings and certainly not a good deal for what you pay. Watery, not creamy at all.

And I settled for Wabune Sushi in the Raleys Grocery Store plaza. So onto the review: I ordered a ton of food, and even wrote everything down on paper for the newbie server. Hamachi Kama: felt it wasnt Krispy or charred enough. 3.5/5 Volcano Mushrooms: wasn't what I was expecting, it was just a bunch of shrooms, battered up with some cream cheese 2.5/5 **would skip ordering this Douglas Roll: wasn't anything worth remembering, as in typing this an hour 1/2 later, I cannot recall what was in the Douglas Roll besides red sauce and spicy tuna, shrimp tempura....so it must have been a mediocre roll 3/5 Chirashi Bowl: was ok, sashimi was fresh, but nothing along the levels of Sushi Gen in Little Tokyo Los Angeles 4/5 Uni: I want to allege after finishing both Uni Nigiri that this wasn't the freshest, because of the complex after taste, it was somewhat bitter with a fishy aftertaste and the coloring was a bit dark. So unfortunately I have to give this order a 2.5/5 even though I finished it because the ponzu and chilli sauces they used really masked the natural tastes of the oyster. If you cannot resolve a problem, or if it is an ongoing issue, you should escalate it to someone with the expertise and authority to address consumer concerns. Do not wait for customers to approach you after the situation has already deteriorated, especially when a flippant response has shifted the tone of the interaction. Another option would have been to table the conversation for a later time or on a different day until more information was available. What began as a discussion about a product concern quickly became focused on a employee instead of the issue itself. The manager appeared to become frustrated, stated to understand the main concern, yet responded with an unnecessarily intense tone and level of defensiveness. There was considerable deflection, repetition, and what felt like half-truths rather than a sincere effort to work toward a mutual solution. The manager should remember that they represent the Root of Happiness brand. I have thought about trying it for sometime, and Sunday was the day. I got my person off of his computer game and we drove down to a decently busy drive through, so we decided to go inside as we wanted to review the menu anyways. The restaurant was clean and cute, almost set up like a little diner. THIS PLACE HAS EVERYTHING. or at least every fast food type item I wanted to see on the menu. We ordered chicken strip basket, a jalapeño burger, a chocolate shake and fried zucchini. There was at least 40 other things on the menu that I wanted to order, but figured this was a solid order for our first time. There was a little confusion with the cashier over the jalapeño burger, but I refuse to dock stars for a cashier who looked like they were still in training. The important part of the mix up, was the chef came out to clarify exactly what we wanted, so it was never really a problem to begin with. That chocolate shake has been living in my head rent free ever since, because it was perfect. The jalapeño burger (we ended up with 3 patties instead of two, per the menu confusion) basically brought tears to my partners eyes because it was so perfect. And they actually season their fries!!! They gave us our drinks right away and they have the nice crushed ice that's like tiny pebbles. It's always a treat when a spot has this ice because it's tiny and crunchy and not offered a lot. The food didn't take too long and came out on a tray for our dine in experience. There are plenty of booths here and during our visit there were a lot of other people enjoying meals in small groups and couples. The food was hot and fresh and the fries were nicely cooked crinkle cut fries. The fried okra as good, but needed a bit more seasoning or sauce to dip (we had ranch). The cheese curds were great, hot and the cheese was perfectly melty. My husband got the mushroom cheeseburger with just mushrooms, cheese, pickles and added bacon. He said it was a good burger and satisfied his craving, but isn't something he'd specifically seek out. I got the pastrami burger with everything on it and thought it was delicious, but the pastrami was a bit overcooked and dried out so the texture was a bit hard to bite through with the burger and I found myself eating the pastrami separately from the burger. There's plenty of parking here and they have a drive through. I heard the milkshakes are great, so if we stop by again we'll try one.
