Stopped by for lunch while out running errands! The place is small but quaint. The waitress who helped us was nice! Their price was a bit high but the food is decent.

Food was super good and service was also good. The ambience of the place isn't as great in my opinion. Very quiet inside and kind of awkward. I have only ordered Togo from this restaurant and it was my first time dining in. I would dine in again if it's busy inside or at least 7 tables filled. I was alone with my wife and it seemed a bit awkward because it was only us 2 inside the restaurant. But the thing I would recommend them doing is playing music. It's very quiet inside

I met up with someone special I haven't seen for years and they suggested Wabune Sushi because the food here was so tasty on their last visit. We got here right at opening time (12 p.m) and sat right away. There is a host stand at the front and a you get back further, you can choose to sit right up at the sushi bar or at a partial table/booth. We both started out with iced waters. After quite a bit of time and talking and admiring their fish lights and wall decor, we started with an appetizer- Wicked shrimp. It is tempura shrimp stuffed with crab mix, special sauce, green onions, and topped with sesame seeds. Those were creamy and delicious! For our sushi, our rolls looked similar. My friend ordered the Sunrise roll- shrimp tempura with crab mix with avocado, unagi sauce, cream sauce, green onion, and masago- but without the sauces. I ordered the Yon roll- shrimp tempura, crab mix, avocado, salmon, lemon, unagi sauce, creamy sauce, green onion, masago, and mg... idk what mg is. Mine was very tasty and instead of green onions, it had micro greens. I loved that super thin slice of lemon with each bite. The salmon tasted very fresh and the lemon gave it a superior taste! Our server was very patient with us as we sat for a long while and caught up. We both used the bathroom... which was only one of two negatives I saw while we were there. It was filthy. The baby changing table is definitely not safe unless you put down a protection sheet or blanket before you lay your child down... stains on the sink and a dirty trash can you have to push your use paper towels into... I know that is not what we were here for, but this review is based upon all aspects of my visit. Also, the water we ordered tasted like pond water. Thankfully, I travel with a case of water in my car. Our food and service was great. The interior designs on the walls and lighting was unique and fun to look at. I look forward to trying something different next time I come.

Came here because I saw a video on IG and it went hard, but it was very empty when we came for dinner. Overall experience was decent but I wouldn't go out of my way to eat here again. We got 2 sushi rolls & fried ika. Nothing too unique. Most of their rolls seemed to be very similar to each other so they all kind of tasted the same. The fried ika was nice, they had 2 type of calamari and we picked this one because it seemed a bit more traditional. It was fried very nicely. Interior is cute, very small.

Great place for Japanese food! We came in and were seated immediately. Our drink orders were taken while we looked at the menu. Once our food orders were taken, it didn't take long for them to arrive at our table. And the staff were always there for you, for additional orders or drink refills. The place was beautifully decorated! The decor was pleasing to the eyes, and the place was well lit. And most of all, the price was really affordable. Compared to our preferred Japanese place, Wabune runs circles around it - for the service, for the ambiance, the quality of the food and especially the price! If you're in the area and looking for Japanese, this is the place!

I love supporting local spots, but I was disappointed with my visit today. I've been here several times (dine-in, takeout, and DoorDash) and usually enjoy their rolls, selection of premium fish like toro and uni, and the customer service has always been good. However, the sashimi portion today was very small--especially for $45. The pieces looked like they were cut in half and the amount didn't feel worth the price. There was also a lot of lemon placed in the middle, which affected some of the fish. I'll still come back for rolls and nigiri, but I'll be skipping the sashimi and chirashi going forward.

First time customer and we will be back. My daughter wanted some sushi and she loved both rolls we ordered. We will be back for sure. The service was great also.

We absolutely love this sushi restaurant. Everyone has such a great attitude and are very nice. The chefs do ana amazing job. Splurge and get the chefs creation roll. We get it every time we go, and they always make it different than the time before. Perfection every time! We are excited to try their Omakase experience next!

Came in on a Monday night and it was pretty empty. Kind of a dimly lit restaurant. We ordered the ika geso and it was probably my favorite dish of the night. Also got the beef pan fried noodle. I wasn't really a fan of the noodle texture. It seemed too firm but the dish came with lots of beef. Also has veggies like carrot, broccoli, and zucchini. Got the rocky and dragon rolls and both were yummy!

A new neighborhood sushi joint ? Yes! It's exactly what we needed . When I had seen that soho express had went out of business and wabune took over , I was really happy ! The pictures of what wabune had to offer looked really good ! Eric is always so nice when seating people and both chef Mike and chef g do everything so well when it comes to preparing diand making sure customers satisfaction is a top priority . I'm here every week and recommend some of my favorites : hamachi carpaccio , albacore on fire , the Taj Mahal, yon , amazing torched , and the Chu toro . Everything from the ambiance , food, and customer service is top notch . I highly recommend !

    Veggie Udon

I recently had lunch here with my husband and another couple. Service was genuinely friendly. I had Tonkatsu Ramen. I realize this is first and mostly a sushi restaurant, not a Ramen restaurant. I felt my Ramen was underwhelming, with the broth lacking in depth of flavor. I also missed a few ingredients that are often (not always) used, such as Kikurage mushrooms and bamboo shoots. The chashu was tasty. My husband had Veggie Udon, which he liked quite a bit. It came with a few rectangular blocks of steamed tofu, and also had several pieces of broccoli, cabbage, mushrooms, and cucumber. He found the noodles cooked to his liking, and the broth tasty. The other couple in our party both enjoyed their selections. So, overall, a very good experience. For me, it was a 3 out of 5, but as the others all enjoyed their picks more, and for the friendly service, I'm going to bump it up to 4.

    Joey Y.

I've seen this restaurant post a lot in the community groups so I decided to try it. I would closer consider this a 3.5/5 however in comparison to other small sushi restaurants I can't bump it up to 4. I had 2 rolls. Appetizer and dessert Black widow roll - it needs more sauce. The outside has nice texture and flavor. But the crab mix and cream cheese on the inside is lacking sauce and flavor. Spicy tuna roll (I forget the name) - this was delicious. Had a light kick. Stuffed mushroom - this was really good. Ice cream - not my cup of tea. So the main reason why I say I can't give it a higher rating and bumped down to 3 is because they have a limited menu and their sushi is pricy. The average roll is $16-18. Most of the rolls are tuna, shrimp, salmon, crab. This compared to a similar restaurant like sushi hook. Their rolls are around $11-12 and a large variety of offerings. More variety and reduced pricing would definitely bump up the rating. $18 is almost mikunis and arigato level of pricing.

    Agedashi tofu & hamachi carpaccio

PSA: if you use a portable LED light at a restaurant to take food pics, be spatially aware and don't shine the light straight at another patron lol. I was being blinded by an Instagrammer while I was eating. Also seemed like she knew someone working there so she received extra care by the whole staff crew in terms of service..... Anyway, the food that I tried here was just alright. I enjoyed the crispiness of the agedashi tofu but very skimpy on the dashi broth. Also, too heavy-handed on the bonito flakes making the appetizer a bit salty. Not the most melt-in-your-mouth hamachi in the hamachi carpaccio and the fried leeks on top had a jarring charred taste. Delicious sauce for the hamachi though. Service: kinda alluded to it earlier but I left the place feeling cold-shouldered by the staff as more attention went towards the Instagrammer (she and I were the only ones dining at the time). Overall I've experienced better soft openings but this spot is still worth a shot if you live in the vicinity and have a general hankering for some Japanese grub.

We arrive and we walk in and I notice the restaurant is completely empty. I started to wonder if this place was good? But, I was like whatever I'll try it. We walk in and are immediately greeted and told we could sit anywhere we like. The waitress brings us water and menus. The waitress was friendly and gave us time to order. I ended up ordering a vegan roll and a Philly roll with hot tea and a Sopporo. My friend order edamame and a veggie roll as well. My tea comes first and then our beer and food. My goodness the Philly roll was so fresh and delicious the salmon was fresh and not the smoked stuff. The star however was the veggie roll the avocado and cucumber were so refreshing. At the end of our meal we were fine complimentary slices a watermelon it's was super sweet and tasty. I will definitely be back for sure. :)

This was easily the worst sushi I have ever been served…read more I previously worked as a sushi restaurant supervisor and have eaten sushi extensively, including in Tokyo, so I don't say this lightly. I visited on a weekend afternoon and was the only customer in the restaurant, with just one chef and one server present. I ordered a torched roll. I could hear the torch being applied for several seconds, and when the plate arrived the rice was literally blackened and crunchy from being burned. The albacore on top was stiff and overcooked, the sauce was excessive, and the shrimp tempura inside was soggy. Every component was mishandled -- from ingredient freshness to execution -- and after two bites I felt sick and could not continue eating it. I considered asking for a replacement, but the chef left the restaurant immediately after serving the dish. The server was polite and understanding when I explained I couldn't eat the food, and I left without ordering anything else. I have given this restaurant multiple chances and this was the final one. With several other sushi restaurants nearby, I strongly recommend choosing elsewhere.

Gamsahamnida! Back…read moreagain, and the food and service continue to be great! The chicken katsu is still one of the best I've had--light, crispy, and perfectly crunchy on the outside, with juicy, tender chicken inside. Every visit has been consistently delicious, and the staff are always friendly and welcoming. I also tried the spicy pork again. It's a bit different from the Korean spicy pork I'm used to. Instead of the pork being marinated so the flavor is deeply infused, it seems to be grilled first and then coated with the sauce. While it's not the traditional style I expected, it's still flavorful and worth trying if you're open to a different take on the dish. In addition the chicken gangjeong dish that requires it to be "deep fried chicken" needs additional time to get crunchy like you would expect. I think the sauce may have made the crunch disappear. The consistency in both the food and the service is what keeps bringing me back. I'm looking forward to working my way through the rest of the menu. Crispy, golden breading with a juicy pork cutlet underneath, smothered in a rich, savory Japanese-style curry that was comforting without being too heavy. The bibimbap was fresh and well balanced, with plenty of vegetables, tender beef, and a perfectly fried egg that tied everything together. Every bite had a great mix of textures and flavor. The vibe is casual and welcoming. This is the kind of neighborhood spot you'll want to come back to whenever you're craving Korean comfort food. The first time I ordered, I got a tempura udon, so it was an udon soup that should have came with mixed tempura. The box that should have been my tempura was SOMEONE'S LEFTOVERS. Half eaten rice and the lettuce that would usually be served under the meat. I called the store and the person who packed my order so happened to answer and apologized profusely explaining that some customers had set down their boxes where he was packing the food and must have grabbed the wrong box by mistake. Grubhub refunded that item for me. I decided to order from them again today because last time I also got sushi and I had to admit...the sushi I had is the best I've had in Rancho Cordova! So I wanted to try other rolls, so this time I got the Express Lane Roll and then the Northern Light Fish Wrap. The way the fish wrap was described, I was under the impression there was NO RICE. As the name suggests, the wrap is fish instead of rice, right? So consider my surprise when I open my box and I see TWO sushi rolls. I was so confused. One matched the description of the Express Lane Roll, but I had no idea what the other roll was. The inside had crab mix, salmon, and tuna like the fish wrap was supposed to have, but outside the roll was topped with jalapeno slices, unagi, and maybe more tuna? It's supposed to be topped with deep fried jalapeno and sweet potato. There wasn't mention of unagi being in this wrap. Again, I will give credit where credit is due...both rolls were very good! But I'm so frustrated that my only experiences with this restaurant were so bad. I did request a refund because I did not receive what I ordered; the fish wrap is more expensive than their fancier sushi rolls, but I also feel bad because I do want to support a restaurant I recognize has good food. Perhaps my experience would be better if I dine in, but my question right now is would it be worth spending more money at this place if my orders keep getting messed up?

They are located in a little strip mall off Folsom Blvd. right next to a laundry mat with a decent sized parking lot, with a little sign mentioning Mother's Day with pink balloons to commemorate the occasion. When we walked in we were immediately greeted and seated by a very sweet young lady named Violet who ended up also being our server. The inside was clean, with a wall of TVs that formed one large screen, lights on the walls, and they had pink heart balloons all throughout for the holiday. We had already picked the items we were interested in beforehand, and Violet let us immediately order. We got the Hamachi Kama, the Shrimp Daddy, The Northen Lights Wrap, 2 small bowls of miso soup, the BBQ Albacore, the House Wife Special Roll and the Philly Cheesesteak Roll. EVERYTHING tasted SUPER FRESH and incredibly delicious! We HIGHLY recommend the Shrimp Daddy and the Northern Lights Wrap, but honestly you can't go wrong with any of the items we selected. Violet was VERY professional, personable, and tentative and took great care of us. The other server, Gayane, was also very sweet and came over and gave my wife a miniature chocolate cake (made by a local bakery called Heavenly Pasteries) as a Mother's Day treat. Then at one point, Chef Maguro walked around and checked in with every customer and stopped at our table for a chat. Maguro was such an incredibly cool and talented guy. He told us he's been a sushi chef for about 28 years, and it shows. He's also responsible for all the delicious looking pictures on their website and in the restaurant. Not totally sure if Chef Maguro made ALL of our food, so we need to also shout out Chef Henry as well. This place is excellent! The food was super tasty, and the people working there really sold the experience. Thank you for being a wonderful server, Violet! Someone give this woman a raise! And thank you Chef Maguro for being a stand up, awesome guy! We will for sure be coming back again soon!!

The prices have definitely gone up in the 10ish years I've been coming, so it's probably more a rare treat than an occasional visit. Everything was super fresh and came out quick enough. The serving size for some of the dishes have diminished, for example, the Musolino Pasta. Considering the base is upon noodles, I'm surprised they're putting less into that rather than their fish. The large 15 pc sashimi bowl came with miso soup and salad, which were good. It would be better with a small bowl of rice. I also tried the deluxe bento with Korean BBQ ribs. I enjoyed the ribs and felt their cooked food might be better than raw. The staff were really nice and polite. They brought out items we requested, and never rushed us. Great customer service. The restaurant is large with plenty of seating for big and small groups. They had some weekly specials and a happy hour menu (4-6pm), but nothing on the happy hour menu appealed to me. There's also a sushi bar counter where you can sit and watch sports on the tv. Nice casual atmosphere. Soho Sushi is a Good Japanese restaurant in Rancho Cordova.

Smelly disgusting place…read more I live nearby and stopped by to get some nigiri and a roll. Paper thin fish of the lowest quality, poorly prepared, total garbage. Better sushi at whole foods. Plus it had a fish smell inside. Fish should never smell like fish unless its going bad ot the place is not cleaned. Disgusting low quality sh*t.
