Definitely a winner, salmon was very fresh and serving was very big. Also got an ochazuke which was refreshing and flavorful! Tasted kinda like a more savory genmaicha with salmon inside. This place delivers with good sushi and sashimi! We decided to check this place out this weekend based on the reviews and proximity to everyone. If you are close to Buford Hwy you should try this place. They have parking for a few cars right in front, a smallish restaurant inside with a full sushi bar. Their menu is pretty comprehensive and includes fried rice, noodles, sushi rolls, sashimi, soups etc. As we were a large group we ordered a bunch of things. Most of the entrees are served with a salad and soup making it quite the meal. We ordered the sashimi appetizer, the pork gyoza, shrimp shumai, omelette, combination fried rice, B-52 roll, sunrise roll, crunchy roll I think. Sashimi was fresh - yellowtail, tuna, salmon. The gyoza was delicious and table favorite Honestly, I even enjoyed the pork belly omelette. So flavorful... The fried rice was cooked well but was missing some seasoning/salt. Otherwise good. The rolls were great and we selected ones that had some spice. My favorite was the sunrise roll - a little crunchy inside yet with a slight kick. The staff felt a little overwhelmed with our group but they were polite and helpful. Food was prices reasonably and worth it (for the portion sizes). read more

I ordered a Bento lunch special which was okay, the sashimi came in a Styrofoam container and tasted like it had been sitting out for a while, not too fresh. I came in with my sister for a nice sit down meal but my bento lunch special came in a to-go take out container which felt like I was just eating takeout. It really took away from the experience of eating "out" and the rice was quite dry, again felt like I was eating a premade lunch that's been sitting out for a while. I could've have just picked up something similar at hmart for less. I did not know that it will come in a container and thought it was part of their regular lunch special on the menu. Overall, not a very good experience and in this day and economy would not return to this place. read more

My first time back since 2019 and my friends who came with me were impressed and loved it! I'm so glad I called ahead to make a reservation (13 of us) since they were packed on Saturday night. They called around 1 1/2 hrs before our reservation time to confirm we were still coming. FYI-I was told they will take reservations for parties of 6+ only and service charge of 18% is automatically added to the bill. We had our own private seating, which was nice. It was a packed house and it did take awhile for the servers to get our order. Once our order was in, it didn't take very long to get all of our food. I ordered a seaweed salad, spicy tuna roll (I ordered the spicy tuna hand roll but the server must have not heard me, but I didn't care that I got the roll instead) and spicy crunch roll. The curry katsu was below average, the cutlets are too thin, a little overcooked, average flavor. The Hamburg was another favorite. Very good skillet with a variety. Was looking forward to trying this spot based on the reviews but found the sushi to be ok and catered towards American style sushi. We ordered takeout and they seemed busy on a Friday lunch but food still came out at a reasonable time. We ordered 3 rolls: baked salmon, samurai, and salmon lovers. Lots of sauce all over the first too rolls so we preferred the last one which was not drowning in sauce lol. For the lunch combo we chose sashimi and karaage. The sashimi was fine but karaage a bit dry and not shaped like other karaage we have had. For the price we have another sushi spot we prefer to go to instead so likely won't return, but if you love sauce-y rolls this place is probably for you. read more

Certain items were okay while other choices were better. The ramen we chose (iekei ramen) was so so. We figured since the original recipe came from Yokohama, Japan that it would be interesting to try. It's a mixture of tonkotsu and shoyu soup which turned out to be a tad salty imo. It overall wasn't bad nor good. Just so so. White tiger roll: This spicy tuna and eel roll was pretty tasty. There definitely was a slight kick in spice. Overall a pleasant roll that's not too crazy in ingredients nor taste. On the bayou roll: This was really different and tasty. The deep fried crayfish was definitely interesting. The little crayfish provided a nice crunch in texture with the spicy tuna. Although this roll appears to be crazy, it was a rather mellow. You pretty much taste the crayfish in all its dough glory. I would definitely come to Yokohama sushi again and try their abundant menu. So I found this place randomly while searching on the area map. It wasn't super far from where I was at so I gave it a shot. I walked in and I was not upset at the vibes. The service was attentive And they approach you and greet you as soon as you walk in the door. They have a nice amount of seating, you can sit at the bar top area where the sushi is served or you can sit in a seat. They actually have some things close to outdoors as well So you have a lot of options. Crunchy chicken skin - come on a salad bed and come with a sauce that is sweet and just the right amount of tangy. Jumbo shrimp shumai - really good, it was only 4 of them, but they were tasty and seemed fresh. Came with a smear of some super flavorful wasabi. Not that green kind either, this was out of pocket that made me stare at it a little bit as I began to chew (but in a good way). California tempura roll was pretty good. And the Crunchy shrimp roll was also good. They were not write home about good, but still decent. Volcano roll Now this one was something else. It was a little bit of a mess but in a good way. The Teen Birthday Boy said to surprise him, and we landed at Yokohama Sushi. So glad we did. We started with some edamame and tempura shrimp & veggies. Both were fantastic! The teen ordered his fave sushi roll and tonkatsu ramen. He loved the roll and was a little critical of the ramen. The ramen has bean sprouts in it, he's not a fan. He's used to having the spice bomb being in the broth already. They provided a chili oil that we tried to create the flavor he was in search of. We made it work, The hubs ordered nigiri and was impressed with the freshness and quality. He was a big fan of the ramen in spite of the spice situation. The food was just ok. Traditionally crafted sushi rolls that did not steer out into the creative realm. Huge pieces of eel were slapped across the top of the sushi rolls like scattered tissue. They were thick as a fur coat. The filling inside the rolls that were chosen was cream based, bland and lacked variety. The service was a bit rushed. There were two servers trying to hold down the main floor level that was constantly in motion with new patrons coming in from the cold wanting a warm spot to dine. The ambiance was beautiful, tin later a hanging from the ceiling, metal art work framed and placed over the chefs sushi bar was more than traditional styles of the art. The miso soup was good, the saki was good - what we didn't eat we left with the server. That is quite unusual for me as a diner. I rarely leave crumbs on my plate. Enjoyed my Tuesday evening dinner with my best friend. Came here for ramen and while the broth was pretty plain, adding in the chili oil and some kimchi gave it nice flavor profile. We also tried the sweet potato tempura roll and it was pretty good, too. The bento box was very good value, but the one drawback was that it was packed in to go containers already when served, not pretty dishes. The roll was pretty good but I've also had better. My friend and I stumbled upon Yokohama a few weeks ago when looking for somewhere to eat after an event. I ordered the Habanero Karai Roll which is Spicy Crab, Avocado, Cooked Salmon, Habanero, Spicy Mayo, and Eel Sauce. WOW. I LOVE spice and this roll did not disappoint! It's actually topped with raw pieces of habanero and the flavor was delicious. The roll came out hot and quickly too! I am allergic to avocado and they were very conscious when prepping my food. I came back again yesterday, ordering the Habanero Karai Roll without avocado and another with avocado to-go for my sister. The sushi chef came over before making my roll and confirmed that I wanted the second roll to have avocado, since they remembered my allergy. The attention to detail was really appreciated and unmatched! I ordered my sister's roll at the end of our meal, remembering the allergy and going out of their way to confirm does not go unnoticed! I am certainly a fan of Yokohama Sushi! They have amazing food, service, and dedication that shines through in every part of their restaurant. The internal ambiance is also pretty cool! I've never seen a restaurant quite like it! It almost resembles decor I've seen in bars by beaches, complete with a picnic umbrella. Sometimes when you're in the mood for something going to a place you are already familiar with maybe the best choice. When me and my friends came in, we waited to be seated; which was not long. We wanted to somewhere that had sushi and cocktails, but they had no cocktails or drinks. The service here was definitely slow for no reason but we still wanted to see what they have to offer. Starting with the sushi they had a great variety and that was probably the best part of this experience. We tried three different rolls, and I think they were all pretty amazing. I don't feel like you can go wrong with any of the rolls. Then we proceeded to get some Ramen, this particular Ramen (Tonkotsu Black Ramen) was not particularly the best or what we had expected, and when, trying to get some help with removing it from our ticket, they were unwilling! It was truly upsetting, because the restaurant was not even above average, and they were unwilling to work with us, even though we had to spend a great deal of money already! Even at some of the most fine dining restaurants, the most expensive steak can be removed if it's not what the customer wants and/or has barely even touched. I've been here several times but this is my first time writing a review. The ambience is casual yet upbeat and light. The service here is quite fast and efficient. This time we ordered the takoyaki, the natto with quail egg, the georgia crunch roll, and chirashi. The takoyaki was hot, soft, and yummy. The natto wasn't really my thing but my friend who enjoys that kind of stuff really liked it. The georgia crunch roll was delish - though I do wish the shrimp tempura was more crisp and hotter in temperature. The real star of the show was the chirashi supreme I got that also had fatty tuna and uni. The bites together of sushi rice, roe, and delicate fresh fish were bites from heaven. Service here can be a bit rushed but very good! We ordered the Takoyaki and Deep Fried Squid Legs for our appetizer and 6 rolls to share between my friend and I.
