There was a time I hated this place. Idk if they changed ownership but it's gotten a lot better (I was dragged back to try their katsudon, only one I've seen OTP). It's still like eating in a walk-in freezer, and their water still tastes like pipe interior, but the food and service has been so much better. The rice is toothsome for what I'm used to, but I've been told the katsudon (so good) is the most authentic to what my friend used to get at a Japanese university. Their tonkotsu ramen broth is pretty great too! I always have a hard time choosing but wish I'd try more from the menu. I appreciate the house-made pickles (though a bit too sweet for me to eat the whole plate). Eaten here twice in the last month, and I feel my lunch experience is better than my dinner experience, mostly because the server at lunch was a bit more attentive and a wee bit nicer than the one at dinner. I haven't ordered the ramen for myself, but I've tried the ones my party ordered, and I feel the ramen here is okay. The broth simply isn't as good as Okiboru and other places I've been to. I do feel the katsu and chicken katsu don are a little bit better than others in the area, as the portion size of the protein seems a little more. Had the karaage and gyoza as appetizers. In Japanese mythology, Ebisu is one of the Seven Lucky Gods for prosperity of fishermen and good fortune. It is likely not the reason that patrons decide to visit Yebisuya for ramen, but that's where the name comes from in case someone is curious. This is a family run establishment in an extremely dense Doraville strip mall. The folks working here are wonderful. There was an odd option to set the ramen on fire, but the option to do so quickly backfired (yes, pun intended). Unfortunately, while it creates a fun presentation, it also burns all the toppings at the top of the ramen, sadly ruining it. Aside from that, the broths at Yebisuya are tasty and execution is solid. The spicy ones are extremely spicy. As someone who loves spicy food in general, this was a bit extreme for enjoyment. Thus, I would suggest that restaurant tones this down for its standard spicy variant, adding some additional options to choose "extra spicy." The staff are attentive. I had the pleasure of dining here last night. I took a trip to H mart and knew I would find a place to eat nearby. I ordered their oolong green tea bottle, black tonkotsu ramen, omurice, pan fried dumplings, and chicken skewers (Spicy, and original sauce). I would go back for the omurice (mix the BBQ sauce option and spicy chili paste together) and the chicken onion skewers in the original sauce. I also enjoyed the oolong tea, this is unsweetened so if you would like sugar they make a house iced green tea. They ran out of the house green tea by the time I dined there. The food will come out fresh when each dish is ready. I prefer this over my dish waiting at a window for the rest of my table's dishes to be done. But be careful because everything is piping hot. The service was great, there were waiters helping each other to check on tables and bring food. The ambience is not for a quiet date night. This is for long time friends/couples and families or single diners. Parking is easy and there is a karaoke bar and billiards hall for those who want to continue the night. Skip the overrated Shoya and give this place a try if you are craving ramen. They got the best ramen in Atlanta, at least their black garlic tonkatsu is the best. Omurice: although this wasn't the Omurice I was expecting this was definitely still a very delicious version. Underneath is a bed of fried rice that was just so good with an omelet layered on top of it. They give you 3 sauce choices Spicy Kewpie Mayo, Ketchup, and Tonkatsu sauce. I chose the spicy mayo which by the way wasn't spicy at all I could have ate a ton of that stuff with no problem and those that know me know I don't handle spice well lol. Yebisuya Bun: is basically a steamed bun with chicory, scallion, and I got it with Tonkatsu pork in it and yall when I tell yall I could have ate 10 of these bad boys. I ate here this past Friday evening with my sorority sisters. There were 8 of us in total and we reserved the private room in the back. All of the servers were super nice and accommodating with each of our orders and kept coming back to make sure we were full. I usually had gone to their next door neighbor but that place doesn't take reservations for larger groups. I ordered the chili shumai, spam musubi, omurice with spicy mayo, and the fried tempura matcha ice cream. Every dish was tasty and decent but nothing life changing. I wish the omurice had the traditional "reveal" but I liked that the fried rice itself wasn't too greasy. The shumai was good but kind of squishy textured. This was my first time visiting since they re-did the menu. I thoroughly enjoyed the experience. There was no wait. We were seated immediately and it didn't take long for someone to ask about our drink orders and answer some questions about the menu. The kitchen works fast. My Katsu curry hit the spot in all the right ways. And the serving was huge. This was one of those dishes where my desire to stop eating (because I was full) collided with my desire to keep eating because it tasted so good. My wife really enjoyed her Omurice. She didn't elaborate because her mouth was full. And the environs are still comfortable. The decorations haven't really changed. My friends and I stopped by for dinner after an event in the area. We were seated quickly and our waiter was pleasant. There are a lot of options on the menu which I'm usually not a fan of but in this case, I'm always hoping for more ramen options that don't have pork. Pretty much everything on the menu had pork in it. The good thing was the option for a chicken broth and you could request to remove the pork. I went with the soy ramen sans pork. It definitely could've used more flavor. It was just okay and a little bland. I also ordered a crunchy tuna roll. I didn't pay attention to the description because when the roll came, it was rice filled with tempura flakes and a tiny piece of tuna on top. It was a pretty plate but not what I was used to when it comes to a spicy tuna roll and all of the sushi (my friends' included) lacked structure so they kept falling apart when we picked up a piece. They also brought two people's sushi rolls on the same plate which was weird. We had to ask them to separate them. I was elated to see, that they offered sushi as well. Two days later, I went back to try their ramen. This restaurant is family oriented. Nice atmosphere, and very hip and young..... They have a good amount of options of ramen available. I ordered the Tonkatsu, and the Takoyaki. Oh me, oh my! You talk about something special. My Tonkatsu has to be creamy and rich. I can't stand a thin Tonkatsu. The broth has to coat the noodles, just right. This Tonkatsu, almost did that. It was rich, creamy, flavorful, and fragrant. The Takoyaki was amazing! So fresh yall, so fresh. It was melt in my mouth. I have been 4 times, since the first time I went. Unfortunately, they don't offer sushi anymore (as of May 2.) So, I did not get to try it. I went last night (May 17th.) I was kinda disappointed in the Tonkatsu, because it was a bit on the salty side. That says a lot, because I always have to add a razzle dazzle of salt to my ramen. The roll that was delivered was missing items... the toppings. Not sure how that happened. But I received the order with a smile. The banners and printed pictures by the foyer would suggest Yebisuya was known for its ramen, but don't stop there. There's plenty more on the multi-paged menu besides noodles, and I felt it a shame I couldn't try them all today. We shared a spider roll, which is a roll featuring deep-fried soft shelled crab. While the roll only came with six slices, each one was enormous and tasty. I ordered from the seasonal menu, which had a variety of cold soba dipping noodles. One of them came with a side of tempera vegetables (squash, sweet potato, shrimp) and I found the contrast of hot, crispy fritters with cold noodles a perfect fit for these twilight days of summer. My husband and I came for a weekend lunch and found the service excellent, even though there seemed to be a shortage of hands to bus plates. Our waiters and servers were on hand for anything we needed without any kind of awkward hovering. To note - food comes out as soon as the kitchen prepares them, which means entrees may arrive before shared appetizers. My own entree got to the table after my husband had already finished his meal. We visited on a Tuesday night for dinner. When we arrived around 7pm, there was only one other table occupied - we had our pick of the whole restaurant for seating basically. This drastically changed during the duration of our meal - by the time we left, it was packed in there! The "Powerful" Spicy Tonkatsu Ramen was enough to feed two adults! If you like it extra hot (like me), ask for chili sauce or add some chili oil for that special kick. The teriyaki chicken steamed bun was delicious, and the chicken was tender inside with a good and crispy crunch on the outside. Gyoza is always a consistent hit in my book and Yebisuya didn't disappoint. We also tried the tempura combination and it was tasty. One of the veggies included with the shrimp was sweet potato, which was a pleasant surprise! They also provide to-go containers, if you need them. Definitely have to mark this place as one of my favorite Ramen Spots in all of Atlanta, the Akuma Red here has to be the best ramen I've had in the state (No exaggeration). I started with the Edamame adding chili garlic to it which is a delicious option I feel like more places should have. Then shortly after came the ramen with the server putting on a little display by lighting the ramen on fire (which actually gives the meat and broth a good char flavor). The meat used like the pork rinds and ground pork are absolutely delicious with the rinds adding such a good crunch to the ramen. Only thing Id warn about is that it is pretty spicy even at a level one. I for one love spicy so it was no problem for me, but I know for others it could be overwhelming so just keep that in mind. I thought they only had ramen, but it turns out they do some pretty good sushi and sashimi as well as a bunch of delicious zensai (appetizers). We ordered the Takoyaki, Chicken Karaage, Pork Chashu, and Gyoza. The takoyaki was good! Whilst they did have a bit too many flakes on top for my preference, they didn't over-cook the tako (which seems to be most people's problem), so they were quite good! The gyoza was standard fare- nothing all that special there. The chicken karaage was standard as well. They did serve it with lemon. The pork chashu was delicious and was served with an over-easy fried egg on top, which made it extra savory. Legit, they were good enough to "steal" the last piece. My sister ordered the spicy Tonkatsu and my uncle had the miso Tonkatsu. My uncle literally groaned as he ate, saying that he was really craving ramen. The Tonkatsu broth did look proper. I ordered the sashimi: Tuna, Yellowtail, and Eel. All the fish was fresh and tasty. The yellowtail has a wonderfully buttery flavor and the elk melted in my mouth. The tuna wasn't "fishy" and had a pleasantly fresh flavor. Now... all this is good you might say, so why take off a star? Well, the bathroom was kind of gross and smelled as if someone had urinated on the floor and instead of actually cleaning it, they just pushed it around with a mop until it dried. I also ordered a glass of ice for my water (they brought the water with like 4 tiny, melting pieces of ice), but it took until after we got our meals to get it. Also, the waitstaff didn't check in with us, so we had to flag them down and it was rather difficult as they seemed to have other things in their minds. The barriers they used for the ends of tables doubled as giant hanging menus, so that was cool...BUT, the barrier was too long, so it made it difficult to enter/exit the benches and even the waitstaff had a hard time because they had to physically hold them out of the way to take our orders. Finally, the real reason I took off a star is that they actually forgot to serve one of the easiest meals- chicken curry rice. My mom waited and waited, but nothing ever came. Good thing we'd ordered appetizers! We finally got someone's attention by the time we were just about finished eating. He came back 4 minutes later to let us know it would be ready soon- we just asked them to drop that order and my mom ended up getting a burger on the way home. Food has gotten worse with different management and owners. They kept the look, but the flavor, quality, and everything has completely deteriorated. I have been a customer since 2018, and I have been disappointed over and over again. I had gotten an item that I really really disliked. I normally never sent food back, but I did for this and the server came back telling me tell me that I can't send it back because the manager said so. It was ridiculous, and inedible. I understand they would like to cut costs because the business does not seem busy, but if food is gross, the least you can do is take it off the check. A couple of my friends and I got to the shopping center where this restaurant is and everywhere had like 30-60 min waits except here and so we tried this place. Service was excellent! Onigiri and gyoza was also excellent. But the sushi was just ok. We got a sushi combo so we thought we were getting rolls but it came with nigiri. Usually that's ok I guess but we didn't enjoy our nigiri pieces. The spicy tuna that came with mine was excellent though so I would be interested in trying their specialty roll and their ramen. Yebisuya has decent food at good prices. This is a good, casual, mostly Japanese restaurant (they have Chinese items on the menu) to eat at when you're neither in a hurry nor trying to impress anyone. It is a nice place to meet with friends and have a social meal. Parking is getting harder to find in the huge parking lot, especially toward dinner time, because a lot more businesses are opening up and getting to be very popular at Peachtree Pavilion. My favorite dishes are the Premium Tonkotsu Ramen and the Katsu Curry Rice. The premium tonkotsu ramen is served in a bowl and comes with thin noodles in a creamy pork broth, pork chashu, bean sprouts, scallions and a medium (in between soft and hard) boiled egg. I usually spice it up by mixing in some sriracha sauce. Even though it doesn't look like it would, my stomach is usually satisfied at the end of the meal. The katsu curry rice is serve in a bowl and comes with rice and slices of breaded fried pork cutlet with a good amount of Japanese curry, a brown spicy gravy. This dish is very filling if you can manage to eat it all. I've ordered extra pickles to add some a little more crunch. The level of service is dependent on who your server is. Some of the servers are really good and attentive; some, not so much, although it seems that all of them are pretty good at keeping your water glasses filled. If there aren't people waiting in their waiting area, the servers don't seem to make it a high priority in getting your check to you at the end of your meal. I've had to flag down my servers the last 4 times I've been here so that I can pay my bill and leave. read more

The pork wasn't circular but more of a long slab of meat which was fine, it had a good flavor but the texture was a bit off but nothing too distracting. The noodles were my least favorite part, they taste fresh but were super thin and hard to break up in the broth. It made the soup hard to eat in my option. The ramen wasn't anything special and definitely doesn't top Okiboru but a little past decent Kimchi 4/5: Loved the spicy flavor but some parts were more coated than others. Taking off a point only because I've tried kimchi one other time and liked it a bit more. Chasu bun 5/5: Despite it being a smedium size piece of meat the bun was perfect, meat was well seasoned, & the spicy mayo added a great touch. If there is anything I'd go back for it would be these over the ramen. Overall, I wouldn't come back as the ramen is just normal nothing that really stands out about it.
