Very disappointed with today's order. I've been here other times as well and the customer service has always been great and today wasn't the exception. My disappointment was because of the overall taste of the food. I was craving enchiladas and my son sopes so I ordered 3 sopes and an order of enchiladas . Worst $26 spent! The taste was bland and the tortilla for the sopes was not cooked properly . The sauce for the enchiladas didn't taste good or fresh. My son and I didn't even eat our food. Well I chose this place because it is near my home and Yelp had a high rating for it. I looked at the photos and I went with the divorced Huevos Rancheros that were pretty bland. The sauces that they put were not well seasoned and they were just okay. My wife ordered the chilaqueles and they were okay also nothing to right about because the chips were not crunchy and sauce wasn't spicy or well-seasoned. Also this place was kind of on the pricey side compared to the quality of meal we received and the size of location. Got three soft tacos (carnitas, machaca and papas) and I can't believe how good these bad boys were. The papas taco was fresh and had a great burst of flavor in each bite, the machaca taco was savory and tender, but the carnitas... oh mah lerd, the carnitas was off the charts. My daughter and I tried Yoli's Mexican Kitchen for the first time this week. I was a little hesitant to go because I am usually disappointed by the outcome of Mexican food. I am extremely picky when it comes to Mexican food. Growing up with authentic Mexican cooking at home, I am usually leave the restaurant full but not completely satisfied with the less than authentic taste. If you are craving some authentic Mexican cooking than Yoli's Kitchen is for you. It is as good as you can get without making it at home. The food is so flavorful and fresh, you can't help but walk away with a smile on your face. The whole dining experience was great. I am not a fan of soda so I usually order water. To my surprise, I had fruit in my water, at no extra charge. The water was so refreshing on a hot day. Before our meal came out, we were served a small bowl of albondiga soup. It was just like home. We ate all of it. My daughter had the enchiladas w/red sauce. My picky, can find something wrong with just about every food, ate all the plate joyfully. I picked at it too and the red sauce was perfect. I had the grilled chicken with a salad and whole bean instead of veggies. The chicken was moist and flavorful. The salad had a wonderful simple dressing on it. The beans were like my mom's beans. At the end of the meal, we were served tradition buñuelo chips. All this food at a reasonable price. I was in heaven. It was a WONDERFUL experience on so many levels. As for the staff, truly pleasant, attentive but not over bearing. The only down side to all of this is the size of the restaurant. It is TINY. It is not a good place to go and sit and eat with a large crowd, which is basically how you can describe most Mexican families. My boyfriend picked up some take out from this restaurant yesterday. I got the taco and sope combo, which was delicious - not sure if they're tortillas are homemade but they tasted as if they were. Finally an place that serves fresh Mexican food. We tried this little place . . . it literally looks like a closet from the outside but I was surprised at how well they use their limited space. Its super clean and the service is good. I do think they need more waiters to provide better service. We had fried shrimp, tacos de papa, and menudo. Let me just say there was not one bite left! It was delish especially the menudo! I had lemonade and was shocked that it was fresh squeezed! So glad this place is near our house. Definately will be returning. Decided to try this place based on Yelp's reviews. I liked the cleanliness and the decor, a little small but that was ok. Prices were great. I ordered the enchiladas, chile relleno and sope with horchata and enjoyed them. Beans and rice tasted authentic, salas (they served 3 types of salas) were fresh and spicy. I would recommend this place to someone who has that mexi food craving. Wasn't too excited about the horchata. Tasted like the powered stuff. I gave it 3 stars not because of the food but because of the service. I went to eat lunch yesterday and I understand that it was pretty busy however the place is not that huge for the servers to not be able to see what their customers need. I felt I was not given the same treatment as they treat the other customers who came in a more presentable attire. I came to the restaurant after my massage which was just down the street. I was in my yoga clothes no make up and my hair was probably not well kept but I had a bun up. Anyway when I got in it took awhile for them to give me a table. The lady said that they were going to clean the table but it didn't happen until 20 minutes later. When I sat down I already knew what I wanted. So I ordered and was offered some chips with salsa. But no drinks were given to me. The man that came after me had his drinks first before mine. I had to ask for my drinks 15 mins later and again the place is not huge that they couldn't see what their customers need. The lady was very chatty with the other customers but me. When I got my food, there were no fork and knife. I had only served with a spoon. I had to ask for them again. Then I noticed that they gave a special salsa to this family that the lady was very chatty with. So I wondered how come they get the extra salsa but not me? Then I realized that I needed some napkins. That I had to ask for again. My question was why did I have to be always asking for things? I feel that I was that customer who was always asking for stuff when I didn't have to. Again the restaurant has about 10 tables, is it so hard to see that their customers were left out or is it because the servers were being choosy as to who they serve better. I plan on coming back dressed a lot more presentable with hair done and all and compare the treatment I experienced yesterday. I wanna see what happens then. Food was great on the other hand. I had the beef soup. But because I had a bad experience I didn't get to enjoy the food as much. A dining experience is wholistic. It's just not about food. The shrimp was still pink and purple.. still had the veins in it and was all slimy.. such a disappointment. I have been there 2x once for a take out order and the second time was a dine in. The place is small. I was unaware about the restroom situation because I did not need to use it while I was there. That doesn't seem right that you would have to go to the McDonald's to use the restroom. Good thing they don't serve beer because the lack of a restroom would be a real problem. The food is excellent and you get a good portion. It is a little on the pricey side especially for the size of it and not restroom. The servers are really nice. The only problem I had was having to tell them to refill my drink. Their salsa is spicy and you definitely need your beverage refilled. read more
