Very disappointing experience. I went in around 2pm and the place was completely empty, which should have been a sign. My order was wrong, I asked for flour tortillas and was given corn tortillas, and they even had ashes on them. That's completely unacceptable. I also ordered capirotada and it was served cold. On top of that, my utensils were left sitting on the counter and later just tossed into my bag, which felt unsanitary and careless. read more

From the moment I smelled the fresh red chile they gave with the perfectly toasted tortilla chips I knew this would be different. This has been one of my favorite stopping grounds for delicious home style Mexican food! It's a nice comforting restaurant setting set in a plaza where the Northgate market is located. The ceilings are filled with festive decorations (usually pinatas and bottle-shaped balloons!). Paintings on the wall are reminiscent of the works of Diego Rivera and other artists inspired by Mexican cultural traditions. The staff is incredibly welcoming. Candida and Joel are great servers and have known then for a long time. They make sure your drinks are never empty, especially with your coffee When I came in here this past Sunday for breakfast, I ordered the huevos rancheros. It was delicious. So I googled best place for albondigas , it lead me to Tina's so I went there for the very first time, but I've passed it many times the albondigas soup was delicious guys juice was so tasty they give you roughly 3 huge albondigas a huge carrot, a huge potato, and some celery, I think I paid $15 for a large one which you could easily share with someone it included chips and salsa. The salsa was so fresh I had to go there the next day just to get the rice and beans because the rice was the bomb if you're craving a albondigas go here it's delicious!!! OMG - I love this place! I ordered breakfast burritos to go - chorizo & egg and potato & egg. They were sooo big and delicious! The salsa was great - spicy but good. The lady who served me - I don't know if she was "Tina" but she was the sweetest lady! I was just visiting, but I took burritos to my kids who live here and told them they have to visit this place! We saw the high reviews and were wondering how we've lived in the area for so long and had never eaten here. We decided one night to give the restaurant a shot. We started with a Jamaica and horchata and both were delicious. Homemade and authentic. The chips and salsa were also delicious. We both had high hopes for our food but the luck ran out there. The shredded beef tacos were scarce of any beef. The beans and rice were bland. My husband's shrimp were dry and rubbery. The fries are pretty much pre-cooked potato wedges. I have no way to explain them other than to say they were not good. On the plus side the service was A+. The other down side was that it says they take credit cards but really don't. They have an ATM located in the restaurant that they have you use to get cash. Im not sure how or why this place has such high remarks but I personally won't be back. read more

Went there this morning around 8ish. Ordered the #4 (Cheese enchiladas with red sauce) and a shredded beef hard shell taco, it was mediocre at best. They do not fry their tortillas so the enchiladas got soggy in the sauce. The rice was bland but the beans were good. Chips were warm and the salsa was good. Meal was $40 for 2 people...Waaaay over priced for what you get. I was really disappointed, I read the good reviews on yelp and went out of my way to come here. read more
