Once she was done with her questions, she stood up and headed to the door immediately, so ready to leave. Had the rest of the conversation and inquiries with her standing between her desk and the door. She answered most but not all of my questions. But I didn't want to continue the inquiries anymore anyways, because her posture and responses made me feel like I was wasting her time. I'm not sure what to feel about her asking "Why would you?" several times to my conditions, to my past experience, even to just a piece of information about women's health practice that's not done in this clinic but commonly done elsewhere. Because I didn't feel much listened or attended to, I'm not sure whether I would feel safe to come back again if I have other women's health or sexual health related issues. FInding a family doctor is hard, so when I moved downtown 10 years ago, I discovered that I couldn't find a family doctor, but I could be assigned to a Nurse Practitioner at WCH Family Practice. For those reluctant to opt for a Nurse Practitioner, I can tell you from my experience, it is better than a family doctor. Anything they can handle on their own is done quickly because you can see them sooner than the overbooked doctors, and when there is something they can't handle, it is referred to a doctor in the clinic or a specialist, so it is the best of both worlds. My Nurse practitioner retired last year and I ended up becoming a patient of one of the doctors in the clinic, and while she is a great doctor, WCH is a teaching hospital, so she is only in the clinic twice a week, so appointments are hard to get. However, WCH family practice offers urgent care appointments in the evenings, so if a doctor can't see you that day, you can see one in the evening, instead of going to a walk in clinic or emergency. The clinic is very accessible, something I appreciated after my knee surgery.

My family doctor referred me to this clinic because of my chronic lower back pain. They have a chiropractic teaching clinic which I attend. There is a last-year chiropractor resident supervised by a supervising chiropractor. Supervision includes verbal review and video cameras in the treatment rooms. The charge is $100 for the initial assessment. A formal treatment plan is created. All treatments after that are free. You must be referred by a family doctor within the St. Michael's Hospital network.

I don't understand why people complain about the front desk staff not being friendly chatty etc... they are no there to be your BFFs, they are there to do their jobs... If you want to chit chat, go find yourself some friends! I think they are very efficient and they do their jobs well. Remember that along with checking you in, they are also answering the phone and email and a bunch of other things, so have some patience. For a downtown walk -in, the wait time to see a doctor is very fast. Doctors are great and will take time to listen to your issues. Now with COVID, you have the opportunity to send an email to have a doctor call you back and a doctor calls back within one hour! They can diagnose over the phone and even send emailed prescriptions to your local pharmacy. I really have nothing bad to say about this doctor's office and I truly think it's the best one in Toronto!!

Before anything, let me be fully clear, Doctors/ Physicians in the clinic are amazing, I am with my family doctor from a long time, however the admin team has been a nightmare. I underwent surgery in March 2026, which lead me to be bed ridden for recovery till May 2026. I lost my job, my OSAP went into overpayment, I am under extreme financial hardship and I was attacked racially on the streets of Toronto. I was recovering, hence could not make it to the appointments, when asked about it, I was told about "policies" and "fees" I must pay before I see my doctor. I gently asked to waive it OR allow me to delay the payment till I am capable of giving it / do it in instalments. It was relayed to my doctor as I am asking to waive fees and I was informed it cannot be done. The email had issues lines up, I was looking to get my doc to fill in some forms, insurance/ hardship related, I was told how much that would "COST". I had to leave it on the side. I received an email saying I am no more on ROSTER because I missed appointments! I was genuinely taken aback. My psychiatrist had stopped the practice, so my files was being transferred to family doctor. Admin team at UHN did it, honestly, multiple times. It never reached my doctor. During my current hard time, facing depression, anxiety, adhd and an attack because I am a different race, with no money, poor credit fighting to get a job, I started overcoming my issues. I asked again for an appointment, because UHN confirmed that I was still with this clinic, they replied with "policy rules", "admin fees"! I have an entire email chain! The admin from UHN helped me with getting the records, and I PERSONALLY SENT THEM! My doctor understandably could not read everything because there were more than 200 visits to be read! So from whatever time I was a patient of this clinic, UHN did send the records, and they NEVER reached my doctor, until I had to find a way to provide it to them! Finally after asking for an appointment I finally got one last week, I finally saw my doctor and we had a plan, from the conversation I noticed he was relayed with selective information, and when he said he supports the admin team, I reassured him I understand policies and why you are supporting them, however, my MAIN CONCERNS have not reached you! Me and my doctor had a plan, I requested for one of my forms to be signed on Friday, according to clinic "policy" I was late with the email so they were going to answer me next business day. Monday has passed by, Tuesday is almost coming to an end, and I am ghosted yet again! It is extremely hard not to take this personally, I have been clarifying asking giving feedbacks in a real positive light whenever possible. BUT THE ADMIN TEAM HAS ABSOLUTELY NO EMPATHY! WORST EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE DURING MY OWN ROCK BOTTOM! I have a steady rapport with my doctor, so I cannot even go anywhere else, but to get to him, THIS HUGE HURDLE is just an impossible task! And get it right, they are VERY RUDE with their responses too! I am extremely disappointed! Isnt this the care team I can rely on when I need support? Apparently not! Reagan - for a massage that is out of this world, especially if you like deep tissue vs "light and fluffy". Jumy - for TCM, helped me address some issues through acupuncture and other treatments, which I use as an integral part of my health care. Last but not least, Dr. Lee has been my chiropractor for over 15 years, and he is the reason I first came to the clinic. In that time I have sent my husband, my mother with spinal issues, my grandmother and several other family members to see him. Dr. Lee focuses on the root cause of the problem, never just an "adjustment and done". Over the years, he has helped me recover from a knee injury, repetitive strain in arms and shoulders, back pain. He has also helped me be more aware of my body alignment and areas to strengthen, which keeps me out of his office, rather than in! To support his patients, Dr. Lee is always striving to further his knowledge and techniques, to work in partnership with other health care providers even when they are outside of his clinic, and genuinely cares for his patients and their well being and experience. I find this is a really great practice to be part of because of the other resources they have available, if not at the clinic than at a participating hospital.

I was surprised as this was the first time that I don't have to wait for a long time so I was feeling kinda positive. Then the doctor assigned to me, Dr. Calvin Lei came into the room and this is where everything downhill. He checked me for a mere 5 mins and diagnosed it as a viral infection. I asked him what to do next as I'm taking OTC medicines and his reply was "to do whatever I want to do". When you come to see a professional you defer to their expertise and have high hopes that doctors will help you heal. Well not Dr. Lei. When you're at your vulnerable times and hurting he will definitely rushed you and your illness/symptoms dismissed. Most likely will not even provide you with the answers to your problem. This experience further inflamed my deep frustration and dissatisfaction with our health care system. Most medical professional nowadays lacks empathy and compassion and are mostly uncaring people who simply wants a pay check. So sad but true that Canada's health care is now at its melting point.

She once removed my stitches that were really difficult to deal with because I kept them too long. the wait time is quite short, especially when you book your appointment A.M.. it might get longer in the afternoon, but usually things are moving quite fast there. it is not a place where you will have a super long and heartfelt conversation with your doctor, but you will get a good service and won't be stuck in the waiting room like I witnessed in some other places. they are really good with keeping up with lab work and contacting people if results are bad. it is a very well organized place. One thing that I had noticed is quite a high turnover of the receptionists - or maybe there are many part timers? it seems that any time I go there I see new faces at the reception. Nonetheless, they are friendly and keep up with the fast pace, which is quite challenging in this kind of environment.
