At four years old he is a bit young for martial arts, but I have been amazed by how much he has already learned. The instructors are so knowledgable about what is age appropriate for him to be picking up, and the atmosphere of the classes is very positive. The older students are always so kind and willing to help work with him. I am excited to watch him grow and learn in such a great environment. I was so impressed by what I saw in his classes, I decided to take kickboxing myself. Like my son, I started at the "bottom" of the learning curve (but not the youngest, ha!). But just like with his class, I got such great instruction, and the support from the other ladies and guys in class was so positive, I didn't feel out of place. Instructors modified everything to my level as I was learning. I am now the most fit I have ever been in my life. And the stress relief from hitting the heavy bags if worth everything! If you are looking for Aiki or Kickboxing in an extremely family friendly environment in either Acworth or Smyrna, Atlanta Budokan is an excellent place.

Even the most advanced black belts take the time to make sure you feel comfortable with the movements and understand why you're doing what you're doing. The community is top notch and everyone supports each other both in and out of the gym. I'd highly recommend it to anyone looking to begin their BJJ journey. Also, their kids program is incredible. I had my Daughter enroll led in February of this year. Things seem to be going well the first few…read moremonths until summer break. I got new job which was outside of 25 mile radius in July. The section 9 of the contract gives client the ability to terminate the agreement with Tonchu if moving outside of 25 mile radius, which my offer letter outside of the state completely did. I took a copy of my offer letter to manager of Tonchu, this guy has the audacity to ask me for copy the school my daughter was last enrolled and enrollment information her current school. None of these request are part of the contract agreement. I filed a complaint with BBB this business is not BBB certified. Do yourself a favor stay away for this business, please!

We have done just that. My husband has a new job that require us to relocate and also to attend to family health issues in another state. We provided proof of this via offer letter and was told that we had to provide proof that our child completed a school program in the area and they that are enrolled in a new program in our new state. None of this is required from the contract nor outlined their. They intend to continue to charge us for services they are not providing. They are awful and I will discourage anyone I know in this area from using them.

From all my training, I have seen many kinds of teaching, but two systems have stood out; one is our system here and the other was a very traditional southern kung fu kwoon. For me, the traditional path is best. These systems of martial arts were developed over centuries. In a world of sports fighting, we often forget the "martial" aspect. These systems were developed by oppressed people for self defense from outsiders who had conquered their lands with large militaries, like Okinawa. The systems in the dojo blend beautifully together. Both systems extend from Okinawa over hundreds of years. These systems were developed from roots that existed before our country. The techniques have been tested across sundry generations. They work. The system is also developed to teach martial skills - the ability to defend yourself - without the need for you to hurt yourself sparring with lots of people. The systems work. Come try out the dojo. Moeller Sensei will introduce you to everyone. It's a welcoming environment for everyone, no judgment. If you're looking for a Cobra Kai kind of dojo (great series on Netflix) then this is NOT it. Many parents have said they see an incredible kindness in our dojo not found in others they've practiced at. I would say Sensei Moeller embodies what it truly means to be a martial artist.
