Through out the whole relaxing process she was combing the relaxer through my virgin hair to "Stretch it". I got home and realized my hair turned out dry and chopped looking in the back and sides. A week later I noticed my hair was shedding and breaking. She didnt apply the relaxer well, and that's the reason for the shedding and my hair falling out! I had mixed texture causing it to shed ALOT. I did a corrective relaxer at home and it turned out perfect. I give up on NJ stylist, I'm going to my salons in NYC for my cuts. The hair stylist completely ignored me. She didn't even glance at the pictures I was trying to show her. She said I was "clearly the type of client who didn't maintain my hair." She talked over me when I tried to explain what I wanted and said she would do something similar that was easier to style on a daily basis. She asked how I felt about the length and I said I wanted to keep it below my shoulders. She cut more than six inches off and gave me a "karen cut" telling me "hopefully you can maintain this." I feel so embarrassed, judged, and frustrated that it's going to take at least a year to get it back to the length I want. It's like going to a restaurant ordering a burger and being told "No you're fat. Eat this salad--except you can leave the restaurant and get the burger for your next meal and not wait a year.

I called on this past Saturday and was told to come in Tuesday or Saturday before 6:00 for a consultation. I decided to go yesterday (which was a Tuesday afternoon), so I left work early in order to get there no later than 5:30, as I commute and it required me taking 2 buses. When I got there, at 5:22, a young lady opened the door and told me they were closed, she was the only one there, and she would be unable to give me a consultation. I told her what I was told on Saturday and without apology, told me to come back tomorrow after 9:00 or Saturday at the same time. I was so disappointed that I just said thank you and left. Maybe I am just in my feelings, but I was really looking forward to my consultation and annoyed that I took 2 buses for nothing. The young lady was not unpleasant, however, she could have been a bit nicer and at least apologized for the inconvenience. Long story short, unsure about whether I will go back or not.
