This shop ruined my silk dress and didn't compensate me. All the other cleaner shops did work perfectly on this dress before. On the other hand, this shop had no skill on dry cleaning. They are not professional at all and the owner of this shop has no conscience, scruples nor shame. I dropped off my dress on 'early August 2018' and they ruined it as attached picture.(It had no stain when I dropped it off.) I waited and waited and waited for 3 months to hear from the owner of the shop about the solution. The owner finally told me that she will solve the problem so I waited again but... she didn't! this is my go-to cleaner and i'm really happy with the quality of their work. they use organic solvents in their dry cleaning so that it's environment and people friendly. AND it's also affordable. pretty much everything costs under $10 to clean unless it's a particularly heavy duty item. that's a far cry from most other cleaners in the rittenhouse square area. it also helps that they're only a hop skip and a jump away from where i live. i'm a bulk cleaner, so i average 5-10 items every time i head to the dry cleaners (more efficient use of my time). this type of load used to cost me almost $100 elsewhere in the area, but here would cost me about half that amount. it also helps that they have running discounts every wednesday on top of their everyday low prices. and i believe if you spend over $50, they give you a 25% discount. all the more reason to clean in bulk :) the owner and girls working here are all very nice and friendly. and they remember you by name after only a couple visits, even though they have a bunch of customers coming in and out all the time. i love that feeling of familiarity. they also have a whole bunch of other services like alterations, special items cleaning, free pickup/delivery, etc. i haven't used any of these yet, but based off my dry cleaning experiences here, if i ever needed something special, this is where i'd go. read more

The store was closed unexpectedly on a Friday due to sidewalk construction, which I understand is out of their control; however, I needed dresses for a wedding that day (which is what I told the store when I dropped of the dresses a week before), and I wasn't able to get in contact with the store. Additionally, I wasn't able to come any other day that week because my work day schedule coincides with the store's hours. When I went to pick up the dresses again on my next day off after the wedding, the store said that I should have come earlier and that was it. I paid full price for the dresses (it was expensive). I'm disappointed in their costumer service. read more

I sent my white down jacket for professional dry cleaning which will take 3 weeks and 60 dollars, however it came back with some stains remained. They promised to send it for redo, I waited for another 3 weeks and went back to find out they didn't redo it. They said they have called me but I never got that, meanwhile I tried to call and they never answer the phone. read more

I just started going here after a very unfortunate incident with Youngs Custom Tailor and Cleaners. Read my other review for details. But this place is definitely better than my old place. I've interacted with 2 women here and both have been friendly and knowledgeable about dry cleaning best practices. I brought my new suit in here to get tailored because I have another business trip and have a short turnaround time to get it tailored, since the other place lost my suit. The seamstress is there on Saturday's so that's the best time to meet with her and get her expert opinion about your clothing. I thought I just needed my sleeves hemmed but she informed me that it would look a lot better if she shorted the sleeves by taking them up from the shoulder. Good tip, I didn't realize this, but it makes sense. I guess I've had other people do it the quick and easy way, but then your jacket looks hemmed. I appreciate the guidance and excellent service. I will walk the extra 3 blocks to go here even though I have a crappy dry cleaner in my building. read more

My new found favourite dry cleaner! Absolutely recommend it. Price: CHEAP! The service pricing for dry cleaning is very reasonable. I sent in two heavy down jackets, one woolen trench coat and two skirts after winter and only spent less than $40. This place offers 25% off for $50 and above orders and more if you go in on Wednesday. I would have paid probably twice as much in my old dry cleaner. Service: The store conveniently accepts all major credit cards. Love that! Also, the store person I met was one of the most friendly ever! [My old cleaner does cash only. I used Chestnut Organic Cleaner's dry cleaning services and I must say I'm very pleased. I got 12 clothing items dry cleaned for around $50. The staff called me when the dry cleaned clothes were ready. I, however, forgot to picked them up! I picked my clothing items after almost 2 months and I was unsure if they still had them. I was surprised to find that not only they had the clothes but the staff remembered me! Also, they did a really nice job with my clothes. My jacket looks sparkly new! I really hate leaving bad reviews to businesses on Yelp, but Lidya the owner of this dry cleaner left me no other choice. I've used this dry cleaner for a while and was generally happy from their services. However, not anymore... I gave a very expensive Rag and Bone silk blouse for dry cleaning, and when I got it back the ticket was stapled to the sleeve. I complained about that and spoke to Lidya the owner several times, until she agreed to apply her insurance. Unfortunately, since then two months have passed and I still didn't get any reimbursement. Not only that, Lidya is not returning my calls although I left her numerous messages. If you care about your clothes - take them somewhere else! read more

Will NEVER use these dry cleaners. Dropped off a dress for cleaning and picked it up today. Got home only to find out that ALL of my dress OUTSIDE and INSIDE is full of someone's hair!!!! I could understand if there was one piece of hair ..I could rationalize it to myself that a person who was placing a bag over the dress accidentally lost one strand of hair and it ended up on my dress. I could even blame it on myself. BUT. This is someone else's blond short hair (I am a brunette). I am absolutely disgusted. I need to dry clean it again (obviously not here). I cannot comprehend what happened to it, if someone wore it, how hair may be on the lining....how is this even possible. WILL NEVER step a foot in that place. I bought an adorable pair of capri tan pants for work and on my first time wearing them splashed something on them. There were two very faint tiny stains but since they were for work, I opted to have them cleaned rather than accidentally set the stain myself (which I've done before). They told me it was not a problem, it would come out without an issue. Upon picking them up I saw they used something that BLEACHED the spots and they were basically white!! When I brought this to their attention they argued with me saying "it's not that bad" and "you still can wear it". I was like um, "no, I can't..." I asked if this process could be reversed and they said no. Why on earth did they use something that would change the color? They said that sometimes happens when they try to take stains out. (You mean you sometimes, oops accidentally pour bleach on something when you're trying to get a stain out!!?) Honestly, I would have kept the stains rather than two big white spots on the crotch of my pants! If that was the case, I told them they needed to replace my pants and that they were ruined and un-wearable. I left them there for the owner to look at. When they called me, I came in to talk to them/pick up my pants and they said they would not be replacing them and they couldn't even see the stains. I agreed, in their store the lighting was such that the white spots were much more faint but the second you took it outside and looked at it in natural light (or fluorescent lighting) it looked like two big marshmallows stuck to my crotch. Could be fun...but NO. I was not about to wear those to work!! OMG. I was very nice up until this point but why not just replace my pants after they completely RUINED them.-and for what? I paid around $5 to have them dry cleaned. They wouldn't even reimburse my FIVE DOLLARS. How cheap. As I was leaving, a woman was there to pick up her bag of laundry which they apparently lost and she was beginning to argue with them. Anyone who treats their customers and their customers belongings without respect doesn't deserve my business. read more

I went here to get my seriously high maintenance prom dress altered. Let's just say they did an AMAZING job. I was so scared to get my dress altered because I went in last minute, and if they made a mistake there wouldn't be enough time to fix it. The seamstress and the woman at the front desk are both SO nice. They wouldn't stop praising my prom dress and it made me feel so nice :) They called me a couple times while the dress was being worked on to give me updates, which made me feel so comfortable with their work. The dress fit perfectly when I got it back and I couldn't be happier. You seriously couldn't even tell it had ever been altered- and there was a lot of work that was done. I had the top taken in (which cost me extra because there was a lot of beading that had to be worked with) and also hemmed a significant amount. After all the work the total was $115. I think this is a fair price for being in center city and doing such a great job. read more

I was very disappointed in customer service I experienced when getting a dress altered here. When I was brought the dress in to be fitted the seamstress got into an argument with the woman ahead of me over the price. Apparently she had been quoted a lower price and when she tried to point that out, the seamstress got very defensive and refused to acknowledge even having met her before. I should have left then. The dress I brought in needed to be hemmed and taken in around the bust/waist. It was brand new and for an upcoming friend's wedding. When I returned to pick my dress up, there were a few small dark stains on the back around the zipper that had not been there before. When I brought it to their attention, all I got was the seamstress insisting they had been there when I dropped the dress off, which to my knowledge, they hadn't been. If they had been, I'd like to think she would have pointed them out so avoid the later problem. After almost 30 minutes of no apology and simply being told I was wrong repeatedly and that I had already argued over the price and had caused problems (the woman ahead of me when I brought it in, not me) the seamstress started making up further lies and telling me I had told her not to clean/steam the dress after she was done. I was offered $4 for the $300 dress that was now stained and wrinkled. Needless to say, I was not happy. When I got the dress home to try it on, I also found that she had changed how she had planned to alter the bust/waist and because she took it in not where she had pinned, she in fact took it in too much. The dress was originally about 1.5 sizes too big and is now .5 size too small. Bottom line: The prices are high and the customer service is terrible. Go somewhere else. I know I will be. read more

I have been taking my dress shirts and dress pants for work here for at least a year. They always come out perfectly clean and pressed. If you point out a specific spot on your clothing they will mark it with tape for special attention. The woman who works the front desk is always friendly and will remember you if you are a returning customer. Overall, a great experience and great dry cleaners. read more

I've been coming here for two years now, never had a problem. I usually drop off a big bag of clothes and then they delivery to my apt...
