The peanut butter latte was amazing and well made. The blueberry muffin however was tasteless and a little burnt. The coffee cake tasted store bought. Hubby and I came here on an early Tuesday morning for a quick bite and some coffee. The gentleman behind the counter was super friendly and quickly made me an almond coconut latte. It was good. What I must say about this place the options that they provide are out of this world! They offer pastries, dessert sandwiches, chips... literally all of the things! There's coffee, seasonal and traditional - tea, hot chocolate! I came on a Saturday afternoon and I must say they were extremely busy . This is our second time visiting, and we are definitely I'm impressed with the food and the smoothies. The staff is always very friendly, even the cooks in the back as well! I forgot to take a picture of my husband, chicken wrap, but he really enjoyed it. The bread and the cheese, the meats, everything in between is always very fresh. The smoothies are also very fresh, decent size for the price. You can also get chips and a drink. We want to come back for breakfast sometime too! The bathrooms are clean, and for the most part tables in the area to eat is also clean. They have a few tables outside as well to eat. Every time we are inside, there's always tons of people. We have patronized this restaurant for years. New owners and there is a different feel for sure. We waited a few minutes to order because the guy wearing a Jimmy John's uniform shirt (nice branding) was chatting with another employee in the back. We tried to order a breakfast bowl (scrambled eggs, sausage & cheese) around 1pm. We were told it was after breakfast and it was not available. We also ordered a BLT. Thankfully the bacon was still available after breakfast...Eggs and precooked sausage crumbles do not care if it is 7am or 7pm. If it is a reasonable request, a business, and especially a new owner, should try to accommodate the request. If the business is out of an ingredient, say you are out of the ingredient. Lastly, unless Alan is making your coffee (worked with the previous owner as well) consider not purchasing it. The coffee is weaker and tastes different. read more

Came here for a quick breakfast and caffeine fix prior to driving back to Alexandria. Their coffee was superb! I got one of their specials - an almond coconut chocolate iced latte. I was a little scared it would be overwhelmingly sweet, but it was perfect. Tasted like a toned down almond joy with coffee! Indoor decor was so fun. I took some time to look at the local art on the walls, love the support for local artists. The barista was so helpful in recommending breakfast items and the service was fast. This place is a gem! I'm not just saying this because I live 2 minutes away from it either! When you enter, you will be warmly greeted by staff and when you leave they will refer to you as "friend". However, there a hair all up in my sand which, which happens I get it, but just wanted to post about it to hopefully serve as a reminder that having your hair pulled up/back is so important that hair and the egg were making sweet love! I still ate the other half of the sandwich and it was bomb tho! I stopped here a handful of times as the Renaissance hotel didn't have their breakfast situation together properly. Quirky little corner coffee shop, 2 men sitting outside smoking, inside smelled of smoke even when I was wearing my mask. Locals stopped by, a handful of tables, 3-4 outdoor tables and some local history & local art on the walls. Staff was nice, coffee was great, they had almond milk and many other healthy wraps. We used to live within walking distance of here, so we frequented often on weekends. Now that we move about 10 minutes away, we go once in a while. We have been really disappointed the last few months that we've gone. It's always little stuff, but we have decided today that we are done going to this place for everything. My significant other initially said that we should only go for coffee, but then we decided together that if we only want coffee, we will go around the corner to Starbucks (who I don't normally support- #shopsmall). I'm at the point that I am so disappointed with The Coffee Shop that I won't even support them with a $2 coffee. So, for our latest issue today- my significant other went and ordered an egg & cheese sandwich on a croissant without their bistro sauce (this sauce literally makes me sick after I have it), a blueberry muffin, and an iced cinnamon roll (all to go). First of all, they forgot to get him his cinnamon roll, and he was halfway out the door before they called for him (they had already told him to have a nice day and whatnot- so it's not like he was rushing out to leave and forgot it on his own). Anyways, then when he brings me my egg & cheese croissant, it seems perfect, but there was something on the inside corner that wasn't quite right that I tasted- I figured too much cheese, so I opened it to move things around, and guess what was clearly scraped off the sandwich except in the corners- that nasty "bistro sauce." I was so disappointed. I wish we lived closer so I could go talk to them in person about it, but since it has been a regular thing of them messing something up every single time, we are just completely done. It really stinks that whoever is working there has either decided to stop caring about their customers' needs, or they are new people who give no care in the first place. What a total disappointment, and so much money wasted for a bad product. If you do decide to give this place a go, check your food in detail if you are not eating it there. read more
