    Fulton box
    Jihye B.

I was so lucky to stumble upon Yori Box in search of a decent dinner after a disappointing Friday running around all day. The set up almost looks like Chipotle, but they have preset menu you choose from with your choice of two base. I went in because I saw the sign for the "Oxford box" which is beef bulgogi bowl with an addition of soy marinated eggs, which should be a really hefty meal. But upon looking at the menu inside, I chose the "Fulton box" which was a spicy pork bulgogi box. The service was absolutely top notch, shoutout to the cashier who greeted me with the menu, brought out my food, and also helped an elderly patron clean up even though this obviously seems like a self-service establishment. I had forgotten to get the sauce on the side and was surprised to receive the "box" (a square bowl) full of pork bulgogi and greens smothered in their maeshil chojang (plum gochujang vinegarette, if you will). I grew up dipping my raw fish in chojang (iykyk) and was pleased with the balance of this one. It made me regret not getting the raw tuna or raw salmon bowls because I know those would taste amazing in this sauce. The spicy pork bulgogi was not overcooked as I feared & nice and saucy but with a bit of charred flavor thrown in. I imagine the pork was cooked simmering in the sauce and torched at the end to prevent it from drying out but also adding that nice char flavor to cut the grease, a move that I will be copying. I hate beets, and I loved the way they work in this dish, it was the perfect size and crunch that added a bit of earthiness without making me feel like I am eating dirt. Overall, Yori Box might be my favorite new find this year. I normally don't go for these salad-grain-bowl type thing and had a whole day being disappointed in Korean fusion food because I'm super critical, but I'm glad I saw all the five star reviews and took a chance. I don't know who's behind this little place, but they deserve more recognition and flowers.

Yori Box is a very welcome addition to the neighborhood as a small business and they have the best Korean fried chicken that I've had all year! You can get one of their boxes or fried chicken (hell, you can even do both if you're up for it). For the boxes, they have around six options on the menu and they are Korean inspired. The boxes are great as a fast option, reminds of grabbing something quick rom Cava or Just Salad. Now, the fried chicken makes for a compelling draw to Yori Box. The crispiness is on another level and the chicken still retains its moisture and tenderness. It wasn't too oily either. The restaurant is spacious and you can casually dine inside if you want. I'm glad they've opened up shop and I'll continue showing up here as a regular.

Hanson Box Grilled Chicken with sweet potato glass noodles

Excellent!! It's not a fancy sit down place- more of a quick stop for lunch or cheaper dinner option compared to some of the surrounding places. The grilled Hanson box was excellent. The sweet potato glass noodles were amazing. Staff are SO nice. Would I travel for it? No. Should you go if you're in the area and want something low-key? YES!

I love Yori Box's boneless chicken--fresh, crispy, and odor-free. Always high quality, and I'm grateful for it. Large Boneless Chicken

We have tried this newish local spot 4 times now and each and every time it's been amazing. The combinations in the boxes are delightful and the vegetables and meats are cooked to perfection and the portions are generous. We tried two of the sauces on the Korean Chopped Chicken and both were great. This place is great for a special occasion but also for a nice healthy lunch or dinner. Also the environment is calm and everyone is very friendly and welcoming. Loved it!

However when we got here it was rather empty and there were maybe 4-5 parties. I think the lack of people only added to the ambiance as it felt quite relaxing and calming in the restaurant. I absolutely love how the restaurant is decorated. There's so much sunlight that pours in from the ceiling windows and it looks like the most cozy Japanese store. It genuinely feels like a dream inside compared to the outside bustling streets of NYC. For small bites we tried the honkuzu soba neri tofu ($17.00) which I believe they make in house. It is so unique from the slight sweetness and the way it almost melts like mochi. The fresh wasabi on top and the dashi complement the tofu wonderfully. My sister and I got two completely different dishes: salmon ikura soba ($45.00) and black truffle yakuzen curry soba (sub udon noodles) ($58.00 + $3.00). The salmon ikura soba was cold and refreshing on a hot day. While the black truffle yakuzen curry soba was perfect comfort food for a bad day. The waitress suggested I substitute the soba for the udon noodles and it was definitely a great decision. The udon noodles were so chewy and paired perfect with the curry flavors. For dessert we opted for the shiso sorbet ($10.00) and soba ice cream ($10.00). I think the shiso sorbet is definitely an interesting taste, it's tart and definitely a palate cleanser. However I think the star was the soba ice cream as it was so creamy and buttery. To top it off all the plates they use are apparently made by the chef which I feel makes you appreciate the meal even more as a whole. I would definitely make another stop when I'm back in town. :)

We came here after a World Cup match between England and Norway. Of course, England won, and we were festive. We were slightly late to our reservation without any problem. We started with fried calamari and shrimp with marinara sauce and a nice bottle of Sauvignon Blanc. It was a warm day in the city so we opted to sit inside. Because it was my friend's birthday, we were given a little card and they gave us a candle alongside the pancakes! The server was nice and answered all our questions. We of course, got the hazelnut pancakes! We also tried to oat milk mocha, s'mores espresso, breakfast sandwich with avocado, and the cheddar biscuit. The food looked wonderful and tasted even better. As a southern gal, I was skeptical about the biscuits, but they were buttery and savory and fluffy. They were definitely more of a bready biscuit than a flaky one, but delightful nonetheless. The breakfast sandwich had a great flavor and I liked the option to add avocado to keep it vegetarian. I just wish there were more slices of avocado on it. The espresso was good but nothing too special. The star of the brunch would have to undoubtably be the pancakes. The hazelnut flavor was divine and coupled with a fluffy, cake like pancakes!! And sadly, this is one. Sustainable packaging is great until it's not. Sub the scrambled eggs were melting into the box when they arrived. And had they arrived a moment later, they would have seeped through the box. Fine. I'll just get them out of the box, onto a real play. Ha. They must have been added to the box while they were fresh off a hot pan. A good amount was welded to the box. Annoying, but fine. And then the brew arrived without sugar or (paid for) oat milk. They hate me. It's ok, I'll just drink it black. And that's where 2 stars get knocked off. Worst tasting coffee ever. Cold brew is supposed to be smooth, with very little acid. This was extremely sour! As if it was made previously and had been sitting around for a couple of days. It took me a minute to realize how bad it was. And suffering as a result.
