Last night was my first dining experience at Chicken Stop. There's a large, black grill at the front with whole chicken parts cooking on it. Orders are made at the register as soon as you walk in, even for dine-in orders. I ordered grilled chicken with yellow rice and red beans and a side of sweet plaintains. The chicken was those flat, paper thin strips with grill marks all over. It was tender but not very flavorful. The yellow rice was good and the beans were fine. The sweet plaintains were the best part of my meal. They were cooked nice and brown and they weren't mushy at all. I asked for hot sauce. I was given a cold bottle of hot sauce from the fridge. The dipping sauce helped to give the chicken a little zing. Chicken Stop is a narrowly built restaurant with decent seating, dim lighting and fake grass walls. There was a large, flat-screen TV hanging from the fake grass wall, showing the news. The satellite music was an awful mix of soft rock and country/western. Menu prices are reasonable. I have business in that area now. I'll be dining at Chicken Stop again. read more

Omg. I've been living in a hotel for a few weeks as my place is being repaired after a flood. As a result, I have to eat out. After weeks of searching for a decent meal, I've found a spot. The price is a bit unreasonable, the ribs are basic and still very tough. Mine weren't tender at all and it's not smoked ribs like you'll get at a BBQ joint. Nonetheless it's still good just hard to eat and gets stuck in the teeth. The rice and beans were very good, subtle flavor but good. The lemonade was also very good, it reminds me of a summer afternoon at a state fair. The Stop sauce of cilantro and spices is perfect for the chicken. Love it! Chicken is moist inside and perfectly crispy outside. I think they must brine it to get it this good. Watched them cook... they butterfly it and grill both sides on open flame. Ribs are not in the same class as the chicken but still really good. The meat texture is perfect, and they're not too fatty or too lean, but the sauce is a little too sweet. I must say both the chicken and ribs were falling off the bone. Very juicy and tender and well seasoned also came with 3 pieces of pita bread which was also good. It is an absolutely delicious cilantro based sauce to accompany the chicken. My selection was the 1/2 chicken and baked potato (without cheese). The chicken was cooked just right--moist with a slightly charred skin. Baked potato was delicious and huge. Four small triangle pita and the green sauce complemented the meal. As another review mentioned, make sure to order an extra sauce. It looks like I'll be keeping Chicken Stop on my return list. If you enjoy delicious broiled chicken meal--consider Chicken Stop.
