I thought I'd try the Greek Chicken to compare to Squab's Gyros on Mannheim. At Yorky's, they serve a 1/4 chicken on a bigger platter to include their roasted potatoes in addition to the usual yellow rice and side salad. Actually, they give you two chicken quarters (2 leg-thigh combos) which was good but I prefer Squab 1/2 chicken for the breast and wing. Yorky's was tasty but a little dry. My dad and I were picking something up in the area and very hungry. We decided to check out Yorky's. The building is on the corner of 83 and St. Charles Road and very hard to miss. Upon entering, you are welcomed with a very clean set up and nice, cool air (it was 90 degrees that day). You place your order at the counter and then wait for your number to be called. My dad ordered the jumbo shrimp dinner. Deep breaded shrimp served with greek potatoes, rice, salad, and garlic bread. The platter so much larger than we had anticipated. It could feed two to three people! The greek potatoes were very tasty, but we felt the rest of the food fell short of flavor. I ordered a chicken caesar salad. The amount of chicken in the salad was very generous, but again, the salad itself lacked flavor - and I feel it is hard to mess up a pretty "basic" salad. I grew up eating Gyro's when I lived in Chicago. I'm currently living in Florida, but I came up to visit. I normally don't stay in this side of the town, so I didn't know any of the places here. I tried this restaurant. I had to order the bureau with everything on it. And it was by far the best tasting gyro I've ever had. Stopped in at 8:56 and the first thing the cashier said to us was we're closing in 4 minutes NOT what would you like to order (Front door said 10pm) Definitely rude and not nice. The worst part is food was awful. The ceasar salad we ordered was put in the same bag as the hot items. The chicken sandwich was put together with small chunks of meat. I used to LOVE Yorkys, but unfortunately they have went downhill in my opinion. They have cut some things from the menu and raised prices (sad sign of the times). Still can get a good deal there, and they are always busy (which is good and bad). I heard rumors they are opening up another location on the villapark/elmhurst border on St. Charles Rd. which would be good. Worth a try to see if its your cup of tea. read more

We found our way to Yorky's Fast Food for dinner after trying to see the CP Holiday Train in Bensenville. We were disappointed to not get to see the train but Yorky's did not disappoint! Yorky's is a Greek fast food restaurant. They offer what you'd expect...gyros, broasted chicken, hot dogs, salads, etc. I ordered the gyros meal which included a sandwich, fries and drink. My husband ordered the broasted chicken dinner which came with coleslaw, garlic bread and fries. The gyros meat was some of the best I've had. The only thing that would have made the sandwich better would have been more liquid tzatziki sauce. The sauce is provided on the side and the sauce was very thick making it hard to add to the sandwich. My husband enjoyed his chicken dinner. If you are in the area, give Yorky's a try! read more

Having been long time Elmhurst residents and customers, I felt I had to say something. Lately the quality of the broasted chicken has declined dramatically. Multiple times in a row, the chicken has been very overcooked and the pieces are way smaller (maybe they shrank from being overcooked so much). I'm hoping they can fix this as this was always a staple for us. read more

The food is very good. Always top notch nothing bad there. With that being said the drive through service is TERRIBLE. After ordering online they never have the drink ready and when you ask they roll eyes at you. Then no napkins and if you ask, they get upset. Hire some friendly people not some BRAT that doesn't want to work. This place is amazing. I couldn't ask for better service and for quality and quantity of food. I got the skirt steak dinner which included rice and potatoes. They gave me a whole Togo box of food that was filled to the top. All great. Just call ahead and place order. They don't really have a drive through but they do have a pickup window. Ok, been craving for broasted chicken for a while and i came upon Yorkys. No fuss kind of chicken which i like. The restaurant is clean and there were diners when we picked up our food. I like Yorky's broasted chicken more than I ought to and their drive through option during Covid19 was, at times rather hard to resist. Portions are HUGE so plan to have leftovers if you aren't sharing. What happened to Yorky's? I am so disappointed with the 2 pc broasted chicken dinner I just got door dashed. The chicken is super dry and over cooked. I received what looks to be a dwarf chicken wing and breast that are just not up to par at all. This meal description states "served with rice and Greek potatoeS." While there is probably a pound of rice, I got one lonely, skinny cold potato wedge swimming in a small pool of grease. WTH? The salad looks good, but I ordered the chicken meal because I wanted chicken, rice and potatoes. Are there new owners here? What's going on? I may have to rethink ordering again. Large menu, fast food style order, and pick up at counter. Friendly and efficient. Menu is large and wide variety with good portions. Pastas and burgers were good. Can't believe we've lived in the area for over 30 years and never tried this place! The inside is updated, nicely decorated and clean. It is counter service, so you pay and then go pick up your order when your number is called. You seat yourself and dispose of your tableware and garbage on the way out. The food was very good and was in substantial portions. I had the chicken kabob dinner and had a hard time eating half of it, which was okay because I had another meal to take for lunch. There are many options to choose from, from beef sandwiches to a fish dinner. Service was quick and efficient and staff were pleasant. Went here recently after a long while and I got to say they have stepped their game up. The food was much better than the last time I was there. I always liked their daily specials.
