Decided to try the restaurant in Lombard as we've been to the one in Chicago. The restaurant is large and seats are spread out which was nice. The saganaki was good. The grilled calamari was soft and not rubbery. The lamb loins were tender and nicely portioned. Service was a slight bit slow but the waiter was nice.

We were a little worried because the people at the front desk were not very friendly or welcoming when we arrived. We went on Halloween around 6:30pm. It wasn't very busy, it just seemed as if they didn't want to be bothered. We almost walked out. Thankfully, we decided to stay and try it out. Our waiter was a different story. He was friendly and warm. We're pretty picky when it comes to Greek food, we grew up with Greek family members, so we're pretty familiar with the cuisine. Everything we had was great! We would definitely be back for the food. We still have our favorite in the city, but it's nice to have a spot close to home to get taramousalata from when we've got a craving.

Amazingggg Spot for Greek food!!!!! We usually order the saganaki for appetizers and chicken kebab with veggies/rice for main course. So flavorful and yum! Wonderful service by the waiter!! Ambience reminds me of my visit to Greece :)

I came here for my work friend's birthday lunch. We were a big group and we got seated on a nice table. It felt quite busy as lots of people were visiting this place after their church service. Our food was very good - great selection of drinks as well.

Number one attraction: the tableside flaming saganaki cheese! Very rarely do you get to see this down tableside anymore, but it is so fun and truly adds to the flavor and texture when it's freshly flamed. You can tell that our server had a blast with this as well haha! Overall we love the food here, my parents and I often went to location in Greek Town while I was a student at UIC, so it's nice to have a more accessible location to us out here in the suburbs. The food is just as good as the Greek Town location! I love the gyros here, one of my favorites of the main Greek restaurants in the city. We also enjoyed the spanikopita, hummus, and chicken souvlaki (skewers). It's a true homey Greek restaurant with the expected decor and style, but I wouldn't have it any other way!

Amazing. Absolutely amazing. I've been wanting to try this place for a while and was in the area on a Saturday night when the time finally came. When we pulled into the parking lot, the place was packed. We parked pretty far away and when we walked inside there were people everywhere, but somehow when we reached the hostess there was only a 5-15 minute wait. There is a lot of space inside and it seemed like the perfect fit for everyone - families with young kids, older couples, larger get together, etc. The menu is huge and was a bit intimidating to decide. We started with the flaming saganaki cheese and hot lima beans appetizers which were both so good! The flaming saganaki was definitely a crowd favorite with the presentation. Those two appetizers (along with the complimentary bread) actually filled us up pretty well so we split an entree. We chose something of the special menu which was chunks of lamb mixed with orzo inside a clay pot. It was so good and the lamb was the most tender thing I've ever had. Lots of delicious food. Great staff. Very decent prices. Highly recommend!

I have been to the city location but why have I not been to this one that's closer to home?! So glad I was finally able to check out this location! It was what seemed like a pretty busy Saturday night. They do not take reservations and it is first come first serve basis. We didn't wait long, we were told 30 minute wait for 3 people. Everyone seemed to enjoy themselves at their table. Everyone was chill, no one seemed like they were in a rush. My friends and I all shared everything. I ordered a avgolemono soup because I'm notorious for ordering soup everywhere. We got grilled octopus, spinach cheese pie, Mediterranean chicken breast, beef tenderloin shishkabob. It came with rice, potato, and vegetables. Everything was delicious! We were so full, but of course, there's always room for dessert. We decided on tiramisu.... And finished it. Guess the only complaint that we had was that our drink was way too sweet. We had to keep adding water to it. Although, I'm already looking forward to my next visit!!

Ask the Community - Greek Islands

Do they take reservations for a Sunday night or in general?

Only for "larger" parties. Phone first to clarify.

Anyone know if restaurant is still open? Have been calling repeatedly Sunday evening 5/17, but no answer, no recording. Hmmm.

Yes they are open. Patio seating $ carryout only due to Covid 19.

The only thing I had against this place was that they were playing loud rock music that was not very family-friendly for one of the times we were there, but it didn't take away much from the experience. I also wanted to add that we went here for my sisters birthday and when we mentioned it, the lady serving us came with a big slice of a really fancy cake with a decorated plate and ice cream. To make it even better, she even gave her a hand signed card with a 10 dollar gift card inside!! Thank you so much to everyone at Yard House, you really impressed us!

I've tried the food and not blown away but for having the option while you're there... not bad. As far as golfing, I think the simulator is great. The leveling platform is a fun element. It's fairly intuitive as far as tee height, changing your putt lineup, etc. I'm a beginner and have felt comfortable golfing horribly here. The putting green is a nice way to end the day on the way out or if you're not able to be seated immediately- take the chance to practice! Their staff is often busy but I would say reasonably so considering they're serving and helping with the simulators. Super kind and have seem them go the extra mile a few times now. We ate at one of the booths in the bar and the bar itself is huge - and looks like a great casual place to grab a drink with someone. For drinks - we got the Signature Doli. While we still preferred Sullivan's rendition of the drink - this one was tasty. For appetizer - we got the Jerk Chicken Fondue. I would recommend this. The jerk chicken was quite good and I would love that as just an entree or in a salad. The fondue came with variety of veggies, and croutons and fruit. It was a great starter to share. For entrees - we got the Filet Mignon Cobb Salad and the Chicken Rotisseiere Salad. I loved my chicken salad and the honey lime dressing was delicious - especially paired with the bacon and corn bread croutons. It was delicious and my husband really enjoyed his steak salad. When we pulled…read moreup, the aroma coming from the restaurant was smelling good, but that turned out to be a whole lie. Everything was ok until we got seated. The server's name was Taisha M. The service was slow and she knew it. She kept apologizing, saying that there was a birthday party she was serving even though we didn't see it for ourselves. When I went to the bathroom, I observed Taisha leaned back with her elbow on the counter having a convo with her coworkers. She had time to talk and hold entire conversations, but not enough time to give us better service. The drinks took forever. My husband's rose margarita was good. My sunset lemonade tasted like regular juice. I didn't like it but I drunk it anyway. About 15 minutes later, Taisha slammed the soup on the table. The Redstone chicken soup tasted like it came out of a can. It was more veggies than anything else. Very little noodles. Very stingy on the broth. Very disappointed. So here we are almost 1 hour later and still munching on this canned soup. No main dishes yet. I mentioned the slow as a snail service and my husband agreed. So we finally get our pasta dishes. He ordered the Chicken Pesto Bellagio. The chicken was paper thin and dry. I ordered the Shrimp Scampi that turned out to be a disaster. The shrimp in my scampi wasn't deveined as you can see in the picture. The pasta sauce was thin and lacked flavor. He asked for Tabasco sauce so he can eat the dry chicken in his pasta dish. I asked for Parmesan cheese so my sauce can have some sort of flavor. Even that was a fail! We didn't get the sauce and cheese until 20 minutes later (in my Spongebob voice). The cheese was obviously old. You can see the old and dry chunks in the bowl in the picture. Everything was bad all around except for the margarita. We wasted $97 and some change for mediocre food and service. I'm mad because it was my idea and ended up wasting our hard earned money. We always ask the million dollar question after every new dining experience: Will we return for more? The answer is an unanimous NO. Zero out of five stars. Will not recommend.
