I had a nice stay here when I had my trip to Yosemite National Park. It's not too far from the park entrance. When I got here too early for check in, I was able to wait in their lobby on the sofa. However, when I asked the one of the receptionists for the WiFi, she gave me the broken one so I wasn't able to access the WiFi. If they didn't want to give it out to people who hadn't checked in, they should have just said so. Their restaurant doesn't open until 5 pm, but they do have a little souvenir/food store inside the lobby area if you need something to eat...better than nothing. (The restaurant was nice. The waiters were very attentive and the food was good) Across from the property, within a walking distance, there is a park to see the Merced River. It was a nice short walk, and there were plenty of birds taking splashes. The room was great! It was very spacious and comfortable! It was mentioned that the WiFi would be bad when everybody comes back from Yosemite, but it worked very well for us. There is also a pool and fitness room available.

Extra crispy BLT with the day's bacon scraps.

I booked a one night stay at Cedar Lodge and was not notified about a road closure on HW 140 that caused me to go back to HW 49 to HW 41 to HW 140 to the lodge adding almost two hours of travel. I arrived a little before 8 and the restaurant was closing so the front desk suggested I go there first then check in After eating There was only one person working the bar and restaurant. I had the worst BLT ever, if they are always made that way then they need a new cook. Hard bread and broken crispy bacon with one slice of tomatoe and one leaf of lettuce. I guess the kitchen was mad because I ordered late due to the extra travel time. Several other people were inside and on the outside window was a flashing neon sign that read, Open. The grounds and hotel room was nice. The communication and food needs improvement.

Great location, approximately 10 mins away from the entrance of Yosemite National Park. Has room for a big group. Hotel has an in-house restaurant which is a plus. It's quite a drive to go out and dine. Ordered grilled cheese, burgers with fries, and wings. Recommending wings. So delicious. Two outdoor pools. S'mores night by a camp fire is a nice touch. Just buy 1 bag of s'mores ($20), enough for a family. Housekeeping definitely needs improvement. Hotel may benefit from some upgrades.

This review is based on our recent stay on August 1-3, 2023. The Room: The room we got was one of the recently updated ones. Furniture and carpet were newish, and the room was decently clean. The Bathroom: Instead of replacing the sink and tub, they used some type of wall paint to coat the sink in matte white to hide blemishes. This place provides the bare minimum. There are only 8-10 channels and no kids channel. Beds: I slept fine on the full size bed. Mattress might have been new(er). The mattress on the pull-out bed needs to be replaced. I could feel the springs on my back when I laid down next to my daughter to help her go to sleep. There's a mini-fridge, but no microwave. Front desk employees were sometimes helpful, but not the best at being attentive. Cedar Cafe: On the day of our departure, we decided to eat at the Cedar café for breakfast. The only option was a breakfast buffet. We had a 6 Hour drive ahead of us and hoped to make it through without stopping, so we decided to go ahead and eat there. We really didn't know what to expect in terms of food quality but thought that for the price they were charging for this buffet, the food would be decent. The free breakfast buffet at the Holiday Inn is much better than what we got here. They charged $21.95 for adults and $16.95 for children (11 years and under). My 6 year old had a bowl of Fruit Loops. Also, you have to pay for WiFi.

First time here! Boy did the Forestry Dept. have the weather wrong! Packed for 59-63 F temperature but when we arrive at lodge it got 90 degrees! Pack for all seasons. At first the place looked ok, but once inside room, it smelled moldy like it had to closed for a whole. I did see a day to into rooms that were empty and spray the room maybe change the fragrance? They advertise restaurant but it was not in service for dinner or breakfast!! Tje had a "bar & grill" that reminded me more of a truck stop bar and the bartender lacked personality!! Breakfast was your typical McDonald's breakfast: coffee and English muffins breakfast sandwiches! They owned other properties and even recommended the other place called " The River" restaurant & lounge. We had breakfast buffet there instead. On our second day, with no warning we came back after visiting Yosemite to a construction crews demolishing the pavement in front of our room! Awful! The only good was they gave us a 50% discount for the trouble.

Yikes! They didn't change the sheets.
    Irene B.

The sheets were not clean and apparently have not been changed after the previous guests. The tv was not working and they had to send someone in to take it out and bring one that works. There was no cable and only about 10 channels you can watch and some were blurry, one channel had a frozen image. WiFi is $10/day and two devices can use it. There are coffee, sugar cream in the room but no coffee maker. The tv guy brought in a coffee maker and new beddings after I called. If he was exposed to covid, then that would be our tough luck because the sheets he carried were not wrapped. He was admirably quick and efficient. They do not have microwave in the room. You have to go to the lounge and use the microwave along with all the other guests. Touch, touch, touch with no alcohol or spray to clean the microwave door is a very active invitation to kiss covid hello. In retrospect, it was interesting that the front desk took my word instantly that the sheets were dirty. He didn't give an excuse, explain, or ask questions. He said he will send new beddings right away. The lure of this motel was the price of $89 before ++. I could kick myself for endangering myself because it was not worth it. There's no next time for me. The room did not smell fresh, clean, and disinfected.

Cleanliness: 4/5 Service: 4/5 Comfort: 4/5 Noise: 4/5 Overall: Great place to stay right outside of Yosemite (45 minutes). And yes you have to pay for the internet but only $10 a day which isn't horrible. The extended review... Cleanliness: 4/5 - The linens and towels were clean. I was better than I expected. Service: 4/5 - Front desk was friendly and helpful. Comfort: 4/5 - The size of the room was much bigger than I expected and was quite spacious. There was a couch and a little coffee table to lounge on before hitting the hay after a long day of hiking. Noise: 4/5 - Thankfully not that noisy.

Absolutely the worst hotel ever! And it's super expensive. For $200/night. You can get bed bugs, rashes , smelly stained carpet, dirty bathrooms and bad attitudes. No cell phone reception at all, and they charge you $10 extra/night for WIFI. Deadzone and they know it and will charge you for it. Stayed here for 2 nights on a recent trip and it was an absolute nightmare. The hotel looks like something out of a horror film, the carpet looks like a murder scene, or have been pooped on by a million animals. The sheets are paper thin and see through. The blanket has not been washed for a thousand years. Everything stinks badly in the room. Bathroom is so old, that things are cracking and chipping away. AVOID! Absolutely terrible!

Our hosts were fantastic, the room (top floor) was HUGE & definitely cool- even on a 95 degree day (those other reviews are ridiculous- Liz had no issues keeping us comfortable- in both AC use & shade for breakfast). On the last day of our trip the YART busses didn't show up for our trip back & Ron rescued us from the park late at night (we were literally stranded in Yosemite). I will say If you are in your 20s, looking to party this isn't the place for you. If you are a recluse not wanting to socialize, this isn't the place for you. But If you have 4 kids & plan on leaving them at home- this is totally worth it. In every aspect. My husband & I played scrabble at night with white claws & listened to the river... we slept in... someone else cooked for us...we hiked all day & came home to a cozy bed & friendly faces. Ron & Liz are definitely "chatty" as some have mentioned in other reviews, but you're staying in their home- so we felt it was all apart of the B&B adventure/experience. We will 100% stay here again and recommend it to all of our friends.

I explained my frustration and asked whether she could assist me or connect me with the restaurant manager. I also explained that one of the reasons we chose this lodge was because it could accommodate our group and had an on-site restaurant, which is especially convenient when traveling with multiple families and children. Sarah's response was shockingly rude and unprofessional. She laughed aloud and said, "You booked here for this restaurant, not to see Yosemite?" We wanted the camping experience. But Yosemite is difficult for camping reservations so we went this route. And I have to say it added to the entire Yosemite trip. A couple downsides. One, is that it's an hour from the central hub of Yosemite. And when you consider how crazy finding parking can be in Yosemite right now that is a pretty serious negative if I'm honest. But. It's a gorgeous drive. Two, you have to use wagons to haul your gear to your space. We luckily were not very far, but it did take us several trips. And lastly, I really wish that the bathrooms for the tents was separate from the clubhouse. Basically the bathrooms for the pool and the clubhouse and the adventure tents are all one and the same. Would've liked the adventure tents to have their own bathroom, giving a little more privacy. There were several events while we stayed there (I do think it's a cool place to have an event or even a wedding), but the people from the events were constantly coming in and out of the bathrooms. Shared bathrooms aren't my favorite to begin with. Trying to take a shower while event goers are popping in and out... Not my fave. All that said, I really enjoyed the vibe of the place overall. Some of the air streams and cabins are situated on a cute little pond.. Aaaaand. The pool made us all happy at the end of the day. The entire staff here is so dog friendly. The clubhouse had really cool little areas. And was very clean. The entire staff was friendly and helpful. The clubhouse has a tiny kitchen with a few nibbles. As well as a bar. Highly recommend the margaritas! Pizza was solid as well. Cute little gift shop with some snacks and essentials and souvenirs. I haven't stayed in Curry Village, but we saw it when we did the mist trail and yikes. This place is so much nicer than the tents, the pool, or the facilities there. If you're looking for a glamping/adventure tent situation I would recommend auto camp. We want to check out their location in Sequoia next!

Even the pathways with numbers for the rooms were lit up so to be found easier. Ordered a pizza set (includes 2 pizzas) and it was tasty, with an over offered to us. Each AutoCamp car/bus has an outside area with a table, chairs, and a bench. The atmosphere was so serene, truly a great place. Also pet friendly! Location: 1 hour away from the Yosemite National Park but pretty okay distance considering the other options. Loved it so much that will visit other AutoCamp locations.

The elevator was broken with no near term repair.. in the grand lodge room walls and ceiling art are decayed, with exposed rotting wood and cracks and drips of plaster. Our room had non functional electrical outlets, mold I the bathroom tiles and a very slippery tub, no floor mat or grab bars. The bathroom vanity glass has large cracks. The door to out balcony would not shut, with a large hook latch needed to close it, still with a waving , gaping door seam hole that we had to throw a towel it to keep it from banging back and forth in the wind. The pipes in the wall all night bang --at first I thought it was our next door neighbors! Bed is ok but the springs squeak loudly as does the bathroom door. The view from the balcony is truly remarkable. The staff is friendly and nice. If you use the room phone to call for something, no one ever answers the phone for room service, concierge, front desk, no matter how many time you call. It always goes to voicemail and they must never retrieve the messages. In the remarkable and very grand dinning hall they have beautiful candlelight and a lovey pianist. The food is expensive. The Caesar salad was limp with cheap box croutons. The French onion soup had a vegetable base and so missed the mark. The single deviled egg, $10 was outstanding, the filet and crab was perfectly done and I would do again. The prime rib was generous, the Yorkshire pudding bowl Dubois, but the gravy and vegetables were good. My husband's salad was excellent--crab and butter leaf with a perfect light dressing. My martini was horrendous- all vermouth. But the one we got at the bar at the hotel entrance was great. I enjoyed the Awhanee manhattan. Service was very good. Such a remarkable property. So sad to see its decline. Outstanding trails that lead from the hotel. We have been coming here for 40 years. Yosemite is truly a gift that we are grateful for for

Went to the dining room (5 tables were occupied) to get a burger and a salad... after over an hour waiting, we walked out. Against the odds, in spite of the best site location in the world and our staggeringly low expectations, the management keeps finding new and exciting ways to disappoint guests.

You get absolutely no cell reception, the WiFi is not that great either. No where in cyber space for you to run to. The place forces you to pay attention to it as well as whoever you are there with. I spent 6 nights here, and it felt almost like a lifetime. I laughed, cried, cooked, bathed, relaxed. I got accustomed to the cursed noises that the radiator makes. Got used to the dull knives and the many light switches around the house. I went to bed after a long relaxing bath, and woke up to the trees as my first view. Get dressed, put on my boots, got firewood, and put on a crappy pot of coffee so that I'm prepared to do nothing for the day. Point is, this place has personality; however, you feel free to be yourself. This place is not perfect, but it is great! It sleeps 6 people. Only 2 miles away from the southern entrance of Yosemite. Perfect for family & friends to disconnect from the busy life of the Silicon Valley and go out into the woods. You'll have to bring your own food and drinks, but the kitchen is fully stocked with all kinds of equipments - an amateur home cook's dream! I had absolutely the best time here and definitely recommend this place to anyone who needs to disconnect from the world for a brief moment and just breathe in some fresh air.
