Tastier and better than ever! I came back to Yoshi Sushi to give it another try, and I'm so happy I did. I enjoyed a delicious variety of sushi, from the lobster salad to the seared salmon. Everything tasted amazing, and the sauces were the perfect complement. I will definitely be making another trip back. Thank you to the management for a great experience!

I ordered take out and loved every bite. I ordered the tiger roll and spicy lover roll. Both were fresh and delicious. This is my new year's eve tradition and I'm glad I ordered from this restaurant.

Haven't been to Yoshi since the pandemic which our last experience wasn't so kine. My daughter and I decided to go anyway because we wanted sushi rolls for lunch. Even though the last experience wasn't so good we decided to go because the food is normally fresh. . The owner is personable and always makes us feel welcome. I had the Shrimp Teriyaki lunch special and we had two rolls of Shrimp Tempura and spicy tuna. The food was good the customer service was good and the owner remembered us. I would recommend them without reserve.

Picked up sushi to go here. There is abit of a language barrier cos when we first walked in the door was slightly opened and 2 male staff saw us but didnt tell us to either wait or not come in to order until we went past the door. Then a lady ran up to the door, closed it and spoke to us thru the door. The menu was not explanatory cos there were two specific trays that has no cost on it. When we did ask her she told us the price but price difference was so far from the love boats. We ended up ordering a bunch of reg sushi rolls. I would say they dont OD on rice and are generous with the fish. Aside from the menu and in person contact, their sushi is okay. The miso soup was also pretty good.

Last night my husband and I went into the restaurant( we normally do take out)) They're so attentive and friendly. The food is delicious! You HAVE to order the sushi pizza with spicy tuna. It's beyond anything I've ever ordered. My other favorite is the yoshi roll. You also cannot go wrong with their spicy tuna or spicy yellow tail either. They have so many other yummy foods like the lobster balls or the wasabi crackers. They're super accommodating. I have massive food allergies. You cannot go wrong ordering takeout from here or even better going in person. My absolute favorite neighborhood sushi spot! I never write reviews, but i feel like I had to come on and this after our experience last night. We left super happy and satisfied.

If you're looking for an intimate cozy place in your neighborhood, this would be the spot. I read the reviews on Yelp and decided to give it a try based on the reviews I read. I am happy to say that I was impressed & pleased with the accuracy. The customer service is exceptionally warming. The owner( Harry) is so friendly and caring we decided that we will come back again not only for the food but the enjoyment of his presence. Thank you for the saké ( which was on the house by the way) you made the experience great. Follow our Instagram page @foodcritters to see more of our reviews!

Updating my review from before I've been a great customer for a while now and tonight after a hard long work day I ordered sushi through Uber eats (huge mistake), the app said my food arrived almost an hour and a half later (the place is literally a few blocks away) and then I spent a good 30 min trying to locate it...which I did not !!! I called the delivery guy multiple times with Zero success. I then searched for the number to Yoshi saw they close in 45 min and gave them a call, telling them the situation they brushed me off like Yea I dunno call uber not our problem .. I said ok can I place a new order and I'll deal with uber after,he said no I'm about to close (meanwhile I saw i still had 45 min to order) i wasn't going to argue but I know for sure I will NEVER order from a place that sees their customer was screwed over and doesn't care to even help out I was going to pay again no argument plus i ordered Cucumber and Avacado rolls would have literally took then 7 min to make, but it sucks when places just could not care less about their client.... Ps I have a Huge Facebook dining group and I will post their as well

Came here with a restaurant.com coupon with my dad. Complimentary sake! either with the yelp checkin offer or they just give it to you. There was enough sake for 3 shots. 4/5 sashimi deluxe 18 pieces of sashimi that were pretty fresh and also came with a different tangy wasabi sauce. $16 for a decent value with 6 varieties of fish. 4/5 manhattan roll a cooked roll with tampura in the center and eel and avocado on top. Very similar to a dragon roll. 3.5/5 Overall a very small restaurant that has less than 25 seats but they have friendly service. Without the restaurant.com coupon (dinner only) this place would be average but with the coupon its a decent deal. Very modern and clean decor. Meters are in effect until 7pm on that street so maybe come at that time to avoid paying.

Clearly a squished spicy salmon roll, The cali rolls broke open and the salmon wasn't fresh.

Honestly I enjoyed going here yet the past three times I picked up, the food has gotten worse and worse. From the rubbery chicken to the unprofessional sushi making, I spent $35 on 3 rolls and a salmon teriyaki and this will be the last time. It's not ok to stuff 3 roles into one tiny container. The rolls are now $4-$4.50 and the quality has gotten cheaper.

Soft Japanese music played in the background, creating a calm, relaxing setting. They started us off with hot tea while we looked over the morning menu. Breakfast keeps things simple with a single set meal where you choose your fish, select how many vegetable sides you want, and add optional extras. Our cook was friendly and skilled at the counter. Our set included roasted cod, white rice, miso soup, tamagoyaki, tsukemono, and seasoned vegetables. Every single item tasted fresh and well-balanced. It's nonfussy, and although not the cheapest sushi, it's definitely not super expensive/omakase level. It's a small space with a giant bar for seating and maybe a few tables - the owners are definitely passionate about Japanese cuisine and you can definitely feel that as you chat with them a bit. The menu is small, but dedicated to quality, and you will make your choice quite quickly. All the fish was fresh, large pieces, and really really clean tasting. The soup was delightful and paired wonderfully and everything was presented quite nicely. The grilled fish was also tasty and really tender.

The fish was very fresh and good quality. We tried the fried purple yams, fried chicken, stir fried udon, yakisoba, and a variety of sushi platters. I would highly recommend the Tokyo Don which was a variety of fish and seafood on a bed of rice. The Salmon Lover's was also excellent, and slices of fish were nice and thick. Service: Service was wonderful! Our waiter was attentive and came back to check on us throughout the meal. There's a button to press when you need service, and our waiter was always quick to come after we pressed it. Ambiance: The restaurant is a good size with tables sectioned off into small "rooms". There are two private rooms downstairs that fit about 6-7 people each. The rooms are adjoining and good for large groups. Seating downstairs is the Japanese-style tables where you put your legs into a pit under the table. Decor and ambiance is very nice, and seating is comfortable. It was an absolute lifesaver that kept the girls happily entertained. And the food was absolutely worth savoring. We kicked things off with a round of handrolls--salmon avocado, spicy salmon, and yellowtail--which were perfectly crisp and packed with fresh fish. I went all in on the Salmon Lovers set, and it was an absolute dream. It came with a massive, beautiful spread of salmon sushi, seven thick pieces of melt-in-your-mouth sashimi, a salmon avocado roll, a bright kani salad, and a really savory piece of grilled salmon. We also shared the Ysukiji sushi platter, which featured a gorgeous, high-quality assortment of cuts, while the Smoked Chicken bento box was a huge hit, offering fantastic cooked flavors and generous portions. The room we were in mimicked a traditional Japanese room where everyone had to sit on the floor and put their legs under the table. It was fun for the younger people but it was difficult for the elders to sit down and get back up. Between the incredibly fresh sushi and the warm hospitality that kept the whole family smiling the entire time, this spot easily earned five stars. We can't wait to come back!

Rule of Neglecting the Thirds…read more The space is truly iconic. Rule of Thirds occupies a fantastic warehouse in Greenpoint, and the architecture is a major part of the experience. N Architects worked with the industrial character of the building rather than against it: huge volume, high ceilings, long views across the room, and a controlled roughness that makes the place feel very Brooklyn. The food is more irregular. Everything is designed to be shared family-style, which makes dinner fun, particularly with a group. The Fish Sando is extraordinary: hake, butter roll, salsa verde, and somehow exactly the right proportions. The shishitos are excellent too. The Yaki Onigiri, on the other hand, were surprisingly dry and heavy. Not terrible, but not something I would order again. The sake selection is impressive. One of the pleasures here is asking the staff to bring a few different bottles to taste before choosing one. They have happily done this for us, and it can turn ordering sake into a great part of the dinner. What is strange is how inconsistent this experience can be. On different visits, with similarly sized groups and substantial bills, the range of sake offered for tasting has varied enormously. On our last visit, for reasons we never understood, someone apparently decided that we were on a budget and offered us only the least expensive options. We eventually found one we liked, so no harm done, but it was a peculiar assumption to make. Then there is the Rule of Thirds problem. We were a party of three, but throughout the meal the service repeatedly behaved as though we were a party of two. For the sake tasting, two glasses arrived. Dessert was shared, but only two spoons appeared. We pointed it out several times, yet somehow it kept happening. It was annoying for all of us and particularly uncomfortable for the third person, who understandably began to feel singled out. Perhaps it was an unusually off night. But after our last dinner, it has been renamed as the Rule of Neglecting the Third, and honestly this might be the reason to not coming back.
