It tasted fresh. The dish quality is higher than in other places I order from. The menu variety had exceeded my expectations. The food quality exceeded my expectations and was well worth the delivery wait time! Next time I might pick up, as they are only a 5-minute drive away from my house. Haven't been to Yoshi since the pandemic which our last experience wasn't so kine. My daughter and I decided to go anyway because we wanted sushi rolls for lunch. Even though the last experience wasn't so good we decided to go because the food is normally fresh. . The owner is personable and always makes us feel welcome. I had the Shrimp Teriyaki lunch special and we had two rolls of Shrimp Tempura and spicy tuna. The food was good the customer service was good and the owner remembered us. Last night my husband and I went into the restaurant( we normally do take out)) They're so attentive and friendly. The food is delicious! You HAVE to order the sushi pizza with spicy tuna. It's beyond anything I've ever ordered. My other favorite is the yoshi roll. You also cannot go wrong with their spicy tuna or spicy yellow tail either. They have so many other yummy foods like the lobster balls or the wasabi crackers. They're super accommodating. I have massive food allergies. You cannot go wrong ordering takeout from here or even better going in person. My absolute favorite neighborhood sushi spot! Picked up sushi to go here. There is abit of a language barrier cos when we first walked in the door was slightly opened and 2 male staff saw us but didnt tell us to either wait or not come in to order until we went past the door. Then a lady ran up to the door, closed it and spoke to us thru the door. The menu was not explanatory cos there were two specific trays that has no cost on it. When we did ask her she told us the price but price difference was so far from the love boats. We ended up ordering a bunch of reg sushi rolls. Updating my review from before I've been a great customer for a while now and tonight after a hard long work day I ordered sushi through Uber eats (huge mistake), the app said my food arrived almost an hour and a half later (the place is literally a few blocks away) and then I spent a good 30 min trying to locate it...which I did not !!! I called the delivery guy multiple times with Zero success. I then searched for the number to Yoshi saw they close in 45 min and gave them a call, telling them the situation they brushed me off like Yea I dunno call uber not our problem .. I said ok can I place a new order and I'll deal with uber after,he said no I'm about to close (meanwhile I saw i still had 45 min to order) i wasn't going to argue but I know for sure I will NEVER order from a place that sees their customer was screwed over and doesn't care to even help out I was going to pay again no argument plus i ordered Cucumber and Avacado rolls would have literally took then 7 min to make, but it sucks when places just could not care less about their client.... I randomly yelped sushi around the area I was in and came across this place. I ordered the lobster naturo, eel tempura & 3 spicy maki rolls (tuna, salmon & yellowtail). Honestly I enjoyed going here yet the past three times I picked up, the food has gotten worse and worse. From the rubbery chicken to the unprofessional sushi making, I spent $35 on 3 rolls and a salmon teriyaki and this will be the last time. It's not ok to stuff 3 roles into one tiny container. There was enough sake for 3 shots. 4/5 sashimi deluxe 18 pieces of sashimi that were pretty fresh and also came with a different tangy wasabi sauce. $16 for a decent value with 6 varieties of fish. 4/5 manhattan roll a cooked roll with tampura in the center and eel and avocado on top. Very similar to a dragon roll. 3.5/5 Overall a very small restaurant that has less than 25 seats but they have friendly service. Without the restaurant.com coupon (dinner only) this place would be average but with the coupon its a decent deal. Very modern and clean decor. My fiancée and I came here for dinner. We shared the deluxe sushi platter. It came with 10 pieces of sushi and they allowed us to swap in a salmon roll for the tuna roll which is typically included. They included cuts of salmon, tuna, and yellowtail which are commonly included in these types of platters; however, I was extremely delighted that they included cuts of toro with the platter which made it a great deal. This place has been in the neighborhood for a while and we somehow (I believe my fault) never checked it out. I'm so sad about what we've been missing! The manager (?) was so friendly. He saw that my husband and I ordered one of the sushi tray specials, so, he had a new type of sushi they were trying and had the sushi chef make two pieces for us. It wasn't my thing but hubby liked it. The fish was very fresh and tasted great. It was pretty quiet, but we were in there on a Saturday afternoon so not really a shock that it's quiet then. After we finished, the wonderful manager came over again with some hot sake and gives it to us "for the holidays!" Im not generally a sake lover but it wasn't bad. The prices were definitely reasonable. We had a sushi deluxe special plus two beers plus a roll and an extra couple of pieces of sushi and it was about $50. I'll definitely be back! read more

I had low expectations because there just isn't good sushi anywhere near marine park unless you go to bay ridge and they don't deliver. Ordered pork gyoza, edamame, yoshi roll and Sakura roll. Gyoza had flavor in filling but it arrived soggy so I had to warm it up, the edamame was too hard and lukewarm had to warm it up and it just needed to steam longer. The Sakura roll- the shrimp tempura in it was terrible, old star tasting no crunch. The spicy tuna on top was not good, it was like dry not like how other places make spicy tuna. The yoshi was edible but the tuna and salmon on top did not look right not like how every other restaurant serves it, was unusually dark. We threw most of it out. Will not order it again. read more

Every roll is expertly prepared and served on a fun and visually pleasing plate that makes this restaurant a MUST VISIT. I personally recommend the tiger and ocean rolls! Went here with my boyfriend earlier today. We asked for separate checks but they put everything on one check -- no biggie. But then they packaged all the rolls together, cross contaminating everything. We ended up having to pull over and shift everything around since we were going to different locations. Okay sushi place in a quite neighborhood. This place is really small and looks like a takeout place. I decided to dine in and get my usual sashimi and tea. The tea was okay, my sashimi on the other hand was not that great. There was nothing extraordinary about it and you can tell that the fish is not that fresh. I order saba (mackerel) and it looked beat up and perhaps frozen. Service was okay, there was only one waitress and she was also there attending to her kids, who I must say were well behaved but just a little strange to have when you are running a business. But that is where my positive review ends...ordered a bento box, my sushi was drowned in the sauce the chicken was in, it was all mush. Ordered a kani salad which came on a bed of half a head of lettuce so before opening the container I was under the impression I hit the lotto with a heap of kani salad..but no, all lettuce. This guys is a joke. Ordered on Uber eats, been waiting for 1.5h with my food keep being on preparing phase just to find out they never confirmed the order (Uber said they did). Tried to call them multiple times and nobody picked up the phone. Delivery person ended up calling me herself saying they never saw my order and never started to prepare, she said that their phone been ringing this entire time and they just ignored it. A rare chance for me to actually be in the mood to write reviews. I think the only reason I don't like writing reviews is because when I write them, they tend to be crazy long. I end up being way too detailed. Anyway, I've been to Yoshi about three times and each time was as awesome as the last. The food quality and customer service is always consistently good. When I walk in, Shirley greets me with a warm smile. This place has some of the best memory I've encountered. I don't understand how they remember all their customers but by the third time, Shirley already knows my name. This touch of personalization is extremely valuable to me. There's almost a touch of home there. Immediately, Shirley pours me a glass of tea and hands me the menu. The menu are always spotless by the way. I'm very picky about greasy menus and this is something I take note of. This place has some clean and nice looking menus. I order my usual which are a few special rolls and some sashimi. Then I tell Henry to just fix me something special (but with some specifications because I'm just really picky). Henry has done this for me twice already and the third time did not disappoint. I have no idea what it was called and I don't think it had a name in all honesty. I highly recommend just telling Henry to fix you up something special and give him some specific details if you have explicit instructions. He comes up with very special rolls and I always end up liking each. Of course, if the place is busy, I wouldn't recommend it because my special roll took quite a while and it's not something you want to order during rush hour. Remember, the guy is creating a completely new customized roll for you. That takes time and careful thinking. What's important about sushi is always how fresh the fish is. I was very glad the freshness remained consistent. I'm a tuna girl and it's very easy to go wrong with tuna I think but their tuna was just so on point. I'm an avid tea lover and I drink a lot of tea. I was surprised how my tea was always full despite the fact that I finished it surprisingly quick. Shirley was extremely diligent about keeping our tea cups refilled. I ended the meal with some Mochi ice cream. By that point, I was pretty full so the Mochi ice cream was alright and not overwhelming great like everything else. Yoshi is a little gem in Brooklyn. It's one of those places you don't really walk into because it's pretty hidden (a few blocks away from Kings plaza though). But I say, it's worth every penny and definitely worth a try. Excited to go back there as soon as my boyfriend comes back. It's better to drive there because I hate MTA buses but there are buses going there.
