This cute little hole on the wall was a perfect savory breakfast! I stopped by on a friday morning and called to see if they had any availability for a walk in, to which they did! Seating is limited with a couple tables and some bar seating, so would try and book a Resy unless you are going solo and don't mind sitting at the bar. There was one chef who you could tell cared a lot about his craft and one host/server who was very friendly. I got the large set which comes with 3 additional veggies. The fish paired very well with the rice - I also got an onsen egg to add. I would come back!

A tiny, cozy, and intimate spot for enjoying a traditional Japanese Ichiju Sansai set. We came for brunch and ordered the Ichiju Sansai set which comes with your choice of one of the two roasted fish of the day, rice, miso soup, tamagoyaki, tsukemono, and veggies. It may not look like a lot at first, but it's very filling. Both my friend and I were full by the end, and I barely finished my set. I love tea, so I really enjoyed the way they serve it: beautiful (I think ceramic) cups, each with a unique pattern, and tea steeped right at the table. The staff were attentive and welcoming throughout our visit. Just be mindful that the menu at this location is smaller than their Manhattan location (no ramen), and there is no bathroom available for customers.

My husband took me here for a Birthday breakfast. I've had this spot on my foodie bucket list for a bit now but eating here was even better than expected. The level of detail and burst of flavor in each bite was truly remarkable. The shop is small but cozy and comfortable. I got the salmon roe and onsen egg add-ons to the large plate and left stuffed! Definitely will be returning.

Food 4/5 Service 3.5/5 Ambiance 3.5/5 Okonomi serves a traditional Japanese breakfast for $30-$38. The experience is intimate, with only 12 seats, so reservations are a must. Don't expect to leave completely full, as the portions are on the smaller side, but it's definitely a unique experience. I enjoyed the miso salmon, but found the pollock a bit dry and underseasoned. It seems the fish quality can vary, as my friend's pollock was juicier.

This breakfast set was exactly what I was looking for recently after having a weekend of really heavy sweets and American food. The breakfast set at 9pm (around $30+) really is all about restraint, moderation, and just-right proportions of everything in balance. Fish was nicely roasted; egg was perfectly custardy; and the honey-mustard-y sauce on the side was a stand out pungent flavor on that plate. Service was excellent; we weren't able to get a reservation and called last-minute and they were able to squeeze us in for the last meal, but did not feel rushed in any way. Really appreciative of the staff for contributing to a positive experience. I do think that I did not need any more food after this, but I do think there are other Japanese breakfast sets in the city that may serve more for the same price tag.

Very intimate setting for Japanese breakfast sets. I got the salmon with 3 sides and it comes with rice and a miso soup. Presentation 10/10 and it's a nice balance of vegetables and fish. I think it seats about 10 people. It is a little pricy about 20 ish for a set but such a soothing Asian breakfast!

Stopped by on the way to the airport and this place did not disappoint. Amazing food and friendly staff here. I really enjoyed the marinated cod and our toddler loved her breakfast set. Definitely coming back when we're in Brooklyn.

Can't believe I haven't written a review for this place yet. Been here twice and each experience has been amazing. This place brings me back to my honeymoon in Japan. Their dishes are so pretty to look. They use fresh ingredients and each bite makes me want to savor it more. The food is clean and doesn't make you feel heavy at the end of the meal. Definitely make a reservations as there are limited seatings

This review is for a weekend breakfast / brunch. Overall, this was a delicious and unique experience and I definitely recommend checking out. My only minor qualm was the fish was a bit small in size, but aside from that everything was great. Restaurant is very small and intimate. Definitely not good for bigger groups. There are only 2 workers, including the cooks (to give a sense of just how small the place is). Food wise, I got the Large Set with salmon (they had two fish options that I think change depending on the day). Large set was the perfect size, so if you're hungry definitely get this. Added the ikura and onsen egg - recommend mixing in with the rice. Meal comes with rice, miso soup, and hot tea.

We were lucky enough to get seats at 1pm without any reservation on Saturday. Any later by 10 minutes we would have been turned away. I didn't realize it was only one set menu, so we both had the standard set for $30. The difference between the standard and the upgraded one is an $8 difference for two extra veggie options. We also ordered the ikura and poached egg add ons. They were both reasonably priced at $5 and $2.50 extra. There was complimentary loose leaf tea already pre assembled at the table and you can steep to your liking. Overall the food was perfectly balanced. Not overwhelming with flavor but had just the right amount of seasoning. The fish we had was the mackerel - surprisingly done very well that there was barely any fishy taste. I left satisfied and healthy. Would recommend!

2nd time here! One of my favorite restaurants and breakfast experiences in New York. Food - if you like heavy Asian breakfasts- rice, egg, soup, vegetables, white fish and all, it truly cannot get any better than this. The umami of all the flavors combined leave you satisfied. It feels like I transported to Japan. The balance of all of it is perfect. Ambiance - it's super tiny with only 10 patrons allowed at a time I believe. It feels super cozy and love that it feels like it's a part of your local neighborhood. No frills, very unseeming, Japanese style interior and seats. Again, part of the transporting to Japan! I recommend walking. Service - I've sat at the bar and table. Easy and staff is very attentive. Pricing is also very fair! A whole breakfast for less than $50 these days with everything you get is a steal. Will come back every time I'm in New York. Highly recommend!

They only seat about 12 people per hour, so without a reservation, you'll likely miss out. We booked the 5:30pm. The simplicity of the concept is appreciated, and they lean into the whole wabi-sabi experience. That said, beyond the atmosphere, nothing really stood out. There are only two set options, when me and my partner dived. and while the presentation was clean and thoughtful, the flavors didn't leave much of an impression. It's a fine stop if you're into minimalism, but for the price and hype, I was hoping for something more memorable.

I enjoy the intimate vibe of this spot however food was mid. Fish lacked salt and everything else on the plate was alright. I think this place gets hype and it's kinda whatever, I wouldn't go back but it was nice to experience Japanese breakfast. The beer was good.

He ordered the Honey roasted duck ramen and I ordered the spicy salmon miso ramen. Before our ramen came out, we ordered our drinks which were a Thai Iced Tea (can't go wrong with that) and he ordered the Lychee Iced Tea. For apps we had the Veggie Spring Rolls and the Edamame which were so crunchy with just the right touch of salt. We may have visited on a slower day since it was raining, but I can tell that it is a popular eatery and can get busy and packed. We lucked out and were seated immediately and didn't wait long for our food. The server kept refilling our water glasses which was much appreciated. I thought my cup was half full and i'd look up and all of a sudden theres even more water poured. Overall it was a cute restaurant and would be perfect for a lunch. Although we had ramen, they have an extensive menu. Check them out!
