This our go to sushi restaurant in Corpus. I'm a huge critic when it comes to tempura, but theirs is perfect and even when we order for takeout, by the time we get home it still has a crunch. I usually get the Chirashi and it's the perfect amount and for the price I think it's justified. I will say though... they seem to get my husband's order wrong almost always. It's very rare they get it right and when they do, we have no problem, but when they don't... it gets kind of annoying especially when the waiter(s) repeat the order to us. He usually orders two rolls which are the Crazy Texan (spicy tuna, avocado, pickled burdock root, cucumber topped with tuna, with tuna, jalapeños, fried onions, and hot oil) and the Spicy Tuna Rainbow (spicy tuna topped with various fish). For some reason when our food gets to our table, the Crazy Texan is correct, but he always gets the Rainbow Roll instead of the Spicy Tuna Rainbow... or one time he was given just a Spicy Tuna Roll. Then we have to go through a whole debacle or calling our waiter over and having them fix this mistake. Not sure if it's a miscommunication between the waiters and the sushi chefs, but I think maybe having a paper trail would help with this problem since we noticed they almost never write down our order and just try to memorize it. Although the minor mishaps, we still return because it's one of the better places for sushi in this town full of chain restaurants. read more

Came here on a recommendation for my friend's birthday while on my trip to Corpus Christi and so glad that we did!! This place is a hidden gem. Our server, Allison, was delightful. We sat down and ordered tea, which was served in the cutest little jug and tea cups on the side. Along with some edamame, which was normal. The spicy mayo was great here, but I will say the eel sauce needs some work! It tasted too sweet, not a good add on for sushi. We both got the cc crunch and that was GREAT! Sushi had a great crunch and tasted really fresh. I love the deep fried cream cheese rolls. Our server was awesome. She overheard it was my friend's birthday and she brought us mochi dessert with a happy birthday label on it and even grabbed a candle for her. It was really thoughtful. Paid $60 for two sushi rolls and chicken teriyaki and it was painfully average. Bland chicken, basic sushi, zero flavor. Nothing about this meal was worth the price. Felt like mall food court food with upscale pricing. Complete waste of money. read more

If you are curious about Yoshi, then you must stop by. It's definitely a hidden gem in Corpus. It's well-known to the locals as having some of the best sushi in town and i must say, I agree. This wasn't my first trip here so I'll try to include my past experiences. The staff has always been very friendly and generous, even during Covid times. They provide sanitizer when you enter, take your temperature, and are limited capacity; which is comforting with recent government changes. I've had their chicken teriyaki, yakisoba noddles and chicken, various rolls, fried and stemmed rice and it's all been very fresh and savory. There are times you go eater other restaurants and the meat is chewy or tastes old, but not here. It's always been very tender and fresh. It's seasoned very well. Even the veggies are a must try because they are well cooked and makes you wanting more. Lol! All their rolls are exceptional, from raw to cooked, I can't complain. Even when co-workers order a roll from here they know they are so delicious, they always share. The offer Chinese and Japanese entrees and both selections are amazing. Well you are at it, don't forget to try the their Saki, it's also a nice refresher. This place already has stellar reviews so take our word for it and check them out. I visited this incredible restaurant a few times and each time they have been amazingly consistent. We have tried a variety of Asian dishes and sushi rolls. The service is outstanding. The sushi chefs and the back kitchen staff make food within a reasonable timeframe and the presentation is perfection. The restaurant itself doesn't appear to be much by the outside and location but it is very clean and the devote is welcoming. They have a full bar to the left side of the restaurant and a sushi bar on the right part of the dining space. Do not miss this!!! Delicious gem. read more

On my short visit to Corpus I checked out this place, I wasn't sure what to expect tbh. This is one of my friends recommended sushi places, plus it's really close to her home. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to go inside with everything that's going on so I ordered carry out. Spicy Calamari: I loved the flavor! The onions and jalapeños gave it a nice kick. If you like spicy food this calamari is highly recommended. The sauce came in it's own container which I thought was great idea! I wouldn't like my calamari to be soggy. The reason I gave it 4 stars was because the calamari was really chewy. The flavor was there but the calamari wasn't soft or tender. Sushi Roll: Holy cows! Talk about flavor! My complaint is not with our service or our food. We went in for lunch about 1:15 establishment closes at 2. Our service was great. However the other server started turning off the music about 1:50. Ok I can live with that but then proceeded to turn off the lights at 1:56 leaving us half in the dark before the restaurant is scheduled to close. No server came to us the 10 minutes we were there but there were staff just standing there on their phones and looking at us knowing we haven't been helped. I had dinner here at this fine establishment with a couple of girlfriends last night. We were greeted by young Jewel. I am a spiritual woman and the service. This young woman provided from the very start of us sitting our behind into our seat was extraordinary. The food was absolutely delicious and the presentation was even better. I did not know we walked in around what they called last call time so me and my girlfriends Felt terrible but rushed through our meals. Jewl made sure we felt comfortable And welcomed us to stay as long as we liked And in the time I observed who she identified as her managers making obscure sexual references and drinking to the point that the young woman was bouncing around shouting and the man who saw me praying and holding jewls hand before she left started poking at her. I told jewel I would be coming back because god sent us here not for the lovely food but on her behalf to see her and she let us know her last day was Saturday. I could tell she was not excited about it, but after the service we experienced last night for a restaurant to let go of such an extraordinary member says something deeper. Stopped in for lunch. Really dark in entryway when you walk in. Not really bright inside but adds to the ambience. No one to seat me initially but was seated and drink order taken. Metal utensils, paper napkins. White ceramic plates. No music playing inside but there is a TV but I sat on a side where I could not see it. Ordered Mongolian Beef. Would have liked a Bento Box but did not see it on the menu. Food came out quickly. I'm not a big fan of Miso Soup but theirs is quite good. Mongolian Beef was OK, not the best I have had but ok. I ordered my food to go over the phone and Food was hot and delicious when I picked it up. Customer service was outstanding. They were very busy but never rushed me while taking my order. She even suggested some of her favorites and was patient when I requested my sushi roll to be modified. I believe the lady's name was Lisa but not sure. Also the server that brought out my plate Josiah was also so professional. I love when you go to a restaurant and they have great customer service even in a full busy restaurant, they don't let the stress rub off on them. Great Job Yoshi Zushi! After I tried various Japanese Restaurants in Corpus Christi for their sushi, Yoshi Zushi is so far the best sushi place to dine in! I love their top five sushi rolls which are Godzilla, New York, Pebble Beach (wrapped in cucumber), Kill Bill and the Polar Bear. I like the Miso Soup because it has a strong taste coming from the seaweed kelp and tofu. The Zushi appetizers called "New Age Sashimi" are very good and delicious. Although the place is an excellent place to eat sushi, the environment wasn't' as what I expected. Quite noisy and people walking back & forth behind you while sitting on the table near the entrance. So that is why this restaurant just lost one star. Waiter was gracious and kind enough to serve you drinks quickly whenever your glass is empty. he always keep me in touch and let me know when meal is coming. The special eel roll was delicious and my friend enjoyed her orange chicken. The service was also very good. The only drawback is that it is very expensive. Rolls are a few dollars higher than competing excellent restaurants and nigiri sushi is quite a bit more expensive. Their sushi is not better than other places so I probably would not return because of the prices. read more

Tried to get a reservation at 8:50pm, they close at 10pm. They said no reservations for a group of 9 that late, I said we would just show up and they said they couldn't accept a table that group size because they close at 10pm and their servers have to close out at 930pm. read more

We have been going to Yoshi for years from almost the day they opened. Having been a couple times lately, something has changed. Everything seems to have declined in quality. Our sakitini was diluted/watered down, had a Birdie roll which tasted as if they used frozen boxed chicken. After this, we got pork Katsu and the sauce simply tasted like Worcestershire sauce that had been reduced. Overall everything tasted "off" on both our last visits. Used to be the place we counted on to get quality sushi and amazing food. Something has changed and seemingly not for the better. All i can say is that the service has at least remained polite and good, but we're moving on to find a new sushi fix for us. read more
