Really filling and indulgent (keep in mind it's fried) Tria roll: 5/5 delicious, refreshing and overall a solid staple if you don't know what to order. Went by because I was craving sashimi and I know the owner from his previous restaurant imperial which was one of my favorite restaurants. I specifically asked the waitress if the "oyshi set" was an assortment of different fish and she said yes it was. On the menu online, it is marked the wrong price as well as no it was not an assortment of the fish it was salmon, tuna, and a white fish, but not an assortment of everything that they had there. It's a total of $33 which is marketed incorrectly online. My waitress was not very friendly either so if I do go back, it will just be for a roll. read more

I don't know if it was an off day for the kitchen because the yelp photos and reviews are really great :/ The seat was dirty when we got to our table and had to ask them to wipe it, also our server kept forgetting to bring us plates and bowls AB-BA roll - YALL this was $17 DOLLARS.... im not even kidding this was not worth the price and not justified. All that was in there was tuna salmon avaocado cream cheese... AND the sushi rolls were cut so unevenly there were big pieces and super thinly cute pieces. They are straight up freestyling in the kitchen Drunken Noodles + Tofu - this one was my favorite but the were barely any noodles. the tofu was good and crispy. Also there was so much veggies on top, seemed like they were skimping out on the noodles by putting veggies on top to cover it up Red Curry + Chicken - I ain't ever seen a curry this watery LOL the flavor was good though. Always good to have yet another great option for sushi on the Southside of town. They're in a great location, with an exceptionally clean and "hip-looking" dining room. We started off with some edamame. It came quickly, piping hot and well seasoned. We then ordered the Sith Roll and the Southside Roll. It came beautifully presented on an elongated plate. Always love the plating (pride); these sushi chefs take great care to make sure it looks just so. The Southside Roll was fresh and bright with shrimp tempura, avocado and cucumber, with the smoked salmon and sauces on top. Quite tasty. The Sith Roll was equally flavorful. The "pile of seafood" on top was truly that - a bountiful representation of shrimp, crawfish, scallops... Some of the seafood seemed a little overcooked but the flavors were definitely there. Service is WAY above par. We were seated, orders taken, and checked on often, all with warm smiles and attention to everything we needed. Prices are on par with several other sushi bars. I would like to start off by saying the food is delicious. The rolls are large and flavorful. This would become my new favorite sushi place, however the service was awful and the atmosphere was unwelcoming. It seemed like everyone who walked in would talk to the staff, and tables were left unattended. It gave me a weird vibe, kind of like showing up to a party you were clearly not invited too. The level of professionalism in the waitstaff was horrendous. I ordered wine, and never got it. Instead of our server owning up to it she stated "well looks like that other waitress forgot your wine". Only, she was the one that took the order. Waters were slow to be refilled and the seating and server assignment was awkward. I think what threw me over the edge to "I don't care how good the food is, I won't be back" mindset, is when I watched the staff and a few customers take sake bombs in the dining area, in a pretty disruptive fashion to other guests. My first and last order from here. I place a phone order for carry out and they didn't package 1/3 of my order. We had to drive back for the food. No comp or much of an apology. The fish was fresh but the rolls were underwhelming. I ordered a dynamite which was completely different than what many other sushi chefs in many states would prepare. New restaurant in town from what we were told. All NEW furnishings & interior. Very open & welcoming. We were travelling for vacation & decided to try it out. The table ordered the edamame beans & stuffed avocadoes for an app, & while the beans were fine, the stuffed avocadoes tasted "off". The table didnt even finish the plate. For dinner my kids had the teriyaki chicken and fries rice, my mother had seared steak hibachi, and my spouse & I split a Wild Bill & a Sith roll. The Wild Bill was quite good, but the Sith roll was hardly edible. The seafood had a very fishy taste and about 15 minutes after eating I felt sick. It was a shame too, because the presentation was awesome (see photos) The server we had was so great and even after my youngest spilled his drink she was SO helpful to help us clean up and get him a new drink. All in All, it was a cool little place, still think they are working out the kinks. For all 5 of us to eat, it was $111.56 before tip, so average per person is $22.31. The sushi is great here. This was my new favorite sushi restaurant until I noticed that the bill didn't seem to be adding up. I checked the receipt to the prices on the menu and they were different. I asked the waitress about the difference in prices and she said they adjusted their prices for inflation but they didn't change the prices on their menu. I told them they needed to charge the prices that were advertised but they refused to adjust the bill. The food was good but I'll never go back. read more

"Amazing" isn't enough to describe the service, quality of food and atmosphere! We were attended to rather quickly after arriving and they still apologized to us for "the wait". Once we were seated, we were greeted by our server almost instantly. He was extremely attentive and super friendly. The sushi menu is extensive and the descriptions of each item are on point. The sushi chef personally delivered the Tuna Tower to our table (photo included) and was extremely passionate about her work of art--and with good reason!! That tower was incredible; the best I've had at any local sushi establishment, to be honest! My only regret is not having snapped a photo of the sushi we ordered (the George and the Steve McQueen) because it was as gorgeously presented as it was delicious!! As for the atmosphere: WOW! If one judges the establishment from the outside and doesn't enter, one would miss out on a lot! It's really a very beautiful and VERY clean restaurant! This place is a hidden gem in Corpus! After trying out many sushi restaurants in the area I finally stumbled upon Oyshi Sushi. Let me just say that this Sushi is amazing and I'd even compare it to some of the freshest/best tasting sushi in Seattle. Every roll we have tried so far has been super fresh, delicious and the presentation has been excellent even when boxed for takeout. Some of our favorite rolls are the Surf-N-Turf, Nana Sakana and the Christie Roll, but seriously we haven't come across a roll we didn't love yet. I also highly recommend the stuffed avocado, it's fried to perfection and the cream cheese and crab stuffing are a blend of deliciousness that must be experienced! The young waitress with the long, false eyelashes had the worst customer service I've experienced. She appeared and acted completely disgusted with her waitressing duties. Every time we requested anything, including ordering additional items, she responded as if we were completely disturbing and annoying her. At the end of our meal, when she asked if we needed anything else, I asked for the check but was seriously considering responding, "The check, decent service and an attitude adjustment for you." This place is a definate must if you are in the Corpus Christi area and want to stop by for some Sushi. The quality and freshness of the ingredients is amazing. I stop by every now and then and order the Tom Yum soup with shrimp and fish with onions and tomatoes as the base vegetables. It is always served hot and prepared with just the right seasonings to offer a tart, salty, and flavorful dish. I also order the Dynamite or Spicy Diane sushi rolls as they are both deep fried and I personally prefer sushi prepared in this fahion for my taste. They have a large selection of fresh Sushi available on their menu. The place is large and can accommodate several people. The Mens restroom (1 room) was nice and clean and given that this was the mens restroom, I would assume that the adjacent female restroom was as clean or cleaner.The last few times I've been here I have never seen many customers seated, but I'm assuming it may be due to the restaurants relatively new opening on this location. There are several appetizers on the menu that I've tried such as fried calamari, egg rolls, spring roll and soft shell krabs to name a few. Although I have tried them at this restaurant, there isn't much to say about them. They are good but nothing really special that makes these appetizers stand out aside from maybe the presentation. Overall I think Oyshi Sushi3 definately deserves a visit. The staff is very friendly and attentive, the furniture and decor is nice and the restaurant has a very nice vibe and atmosphere. They assured us we didn't need to open the bag because everything was there. We got home and it wasn't. We called and asked for a refund for what was missing. They gave us a number to call that didn't work to get our refund. We called them back and was put on hold for 10 minutes and then the line went dead. The manager was extremely rude and treated me like it was basically my problem since I didn't want to drive back to the restaurant for a third time on my anniversary. We ordered party boat, sashimi, extra sushi rolls and other appetizer on this restaurant. The sushi was good. But what surprised was they charge a mandatory tip (about 21%) for the chef and kitchen staff. And that tip does not include the server's tip! I've been to many sushi restaurants and this is the first time I had encountered a mandatory chef tip. The establishment should make the customers aware of this ahead of time or they should advertise it. Be careful when you go to this restaurant. read more
