First-timers please read before going: They take only three forms of payment: cash, check or Zelle. The DIY dog wash is $25 and includes the use of their wash station, towels, shampoo, and high-powered dryer. The dryer is incredible and gets your pup dry in no time flat. The folks who work here were all super nice and helpful. I was a walk-in and they got me right in. Taking my dog here is a hundred times better than washing him in my bathtub at home. Not a big deal, but I wish I knew about the forms of payment as I only use a debit or credit card. I had to go across the street and use an ATM at the Circle K. Also, Yelp's "Ask the Community" Q&A says the self-service is $15, but it's $25 and should be updated. NEVER NEVER NEVER have I seen my dogs so happy to go to the Groomers. Usually they are sad, scared, shaking etc etc. this time they happily walked in sat and patiently waited for directions no muss no fuss. Happily entering the holding kennel WOW. Not sure what the employees here are doing but it's obviously all great for your pets. Our two boys happily stayed not sad one bit . Have never left them with tails wagging. What a great feeling knowing you can leave your children at a place they really truly enjoy being at. This place is wide open you can see all stages of a quality grooming going on. When I checked in the boys a super nice lady had a card with notes about past grooming and any special treatment needed. Nothing to hide. Great establishment when you can actually make an appointment! Of all the limited self-wash dog washes in the area, I won't go anywhere but 'You Dirty Dog' for my pups. But I must not be the only one that feels this way because getting a hold of someone on the phone and then getting an appointment has become almost impossible throughout the pandemic. What a great concept! Do it yourself dog wash for $15 and it's a bargain!! My boy weighs 130lbs and I got him the cleanest he has ever been. It's so much easier to clean your pup when you don't have to bend over all the time. They provide everything you need: scrubber, shampoo, and towels. You can pay a little more for their high velocity dryer but this being the desert I just let my pup air dry. The fifteen dollars is so worth the saving of wear and tear on my back read more

When I adopted my little guy, the shelter had no idea how long he had been living in the streets. His little ringlets were turning into dreads and I could barely see his eyes. But Ollie was a trooper! After I adopted him, I had to wait 14 days before I could take him in to see a groomer because we had to let him heal and get better after getting fixed. When the 2 weeks were up I knew it was time to get him a fresh cut! Even though he was nervous about going to the groomers -- I could tell he felt like a whole new dog by the time he got to come home. Hello dog lovers! I have been coming to YOU DIRTY DOG consistently for years. I am ashamed to say I have taken way too long in writing this review. My pup is 14 now and for at least ten of those years I was disappointed in each groomer we went to. The cost kept increasing and the quality of the cut kept decreasing. But I LOVE this place!! JARAD is awesome. He is so kind and gentle with Bella and I know he really cares. JARAD is just a beautiful soul who has a way with animals. I can't say enough great things about him! I know you will be pleased with your pup's appearance and demeanor after JARAD is through with them! Christine, the owner is always there and very hands on. I appreciate how efficiently she runs her business and she is extra safe during these Covid times. Also I never worry when I drop Bella off. I was always nervous when I took her to other places and here I feel confident she is in good hands. The location of YOU DIRTY DOG is awesome. It is on San Pablo, just blocks from El Paseo. There is tons of parking in the back which makes it very convenient. In addition to grooming, they have washing stations if you want to give your own pup a bath. We visited You Dirty Dog on 2/18/21. They have a great COVID precautions in place. Everyone wears masks and you leave your dog there while they wash and groom him. The staff was nice and friendly. I appreciate their patience with my new puppy, this being his first visit. He felt so soft after his bath. His nails were trimmed wonderfully. He wasn't used to the whole process so he was a bit scared but they took great care of him. He got a wash and tidy. It was about $35. It took about half an hour. We walked across the street while we waited for him. They have a nice bakery and thrift shop within walking distance. Would definitely recommend You Dirty Dog and we will be back! read more

Low balled, I spent all day calling to get a good price for my 5 pets for BATHS. She quotes me one price and when I go to pick them up increases the price by $50!! I told her the cat was grumpy, she did not say she would change additional. She said the going rate for a cat bath was $70, that's a lie. I have been paying $45 for years. Low balling is one of the oldest tricks in the book. You lie to a customer to get them in the door and then you change the price. Bad business practice and I have owned business for years, BEWARE! She will never get my business again, I hope it was worth it. I don't do business with dishonest people. read more

I would be willing to give it the 5 stars maybe in the future, because I gotta admit that they do a great job at grooming and the full service etc, but because of the LACK of GOOD customer service, that's why I do not rate it 5/5. A Good Customer Service, it's what makes the big difference in a business and if you do not have the right person to give you the information or can listen to what you need to say as a customer that cares about his/her pet, you tell me?!! The lady that provides info and gives you the appointment etc., seems like she does not have time to talk to you and you need to rush and you feel that pressure actually of the rush which is NOT cool at all. Specially when you are paying for a service and you are not getting it for free; besides that we are talking about a pet, that is 99.9 % of the time part of the family. I am sure they can improve that, if they hire somebody kind that just take care of the front desk, that way she doesn't have to rush you to take care of the service with the pets that are already taking the bath or service at the back, but overall, good service and fair price!!! read more

How much worse could a groomer be. I specifically said please only take about a 1/4 of my dogs hair off. We love his shaggy look. Do not cut his hair short. I said it 5 times over to the point I felt I was being annoying. What did these awful groomers do? They shaved our dog completely leaving only 1/4 of an inch of hair on our Havanese. They literally did the opposite of what we asked!! It will take at least 3 months to grow back! read more
