They have a fantastic selection of pieces both for straight up purchase as well as paint your own. If you need a snack while there, the lattes and ice cream are super yummy. Wanted to love this place, the decor is super cute and they have so many options to choose from. My friend and I went together and really loved our pieces, but when we got them back, there were a few flaws. It was clear our pieces touched when I mentioned to the person at the front when dropping them off that both were still wet and where (I made sure to carry them very carefully to the front). And mine has a color stain from another piece that I'm guessing was next to it. I'd love to come back, but not sure if that will be the case if this is how the pieces that we worked so hard on are treated. read more

Mom daughter date night to paint pottery. Had a fantastic time! We've been to a few other pottery shops and this one exceeds expectations! This place is awesomeee!!! I will say that I think that it's on the cheaper side of activities which involve pottery, but I love the freedom to pick a set of pottery. I enjoy roaming around the paint and sponge area, and the staff never rushes you. They patiently give you the paint, and they're never frustrated. I love the cafe as well and the unique drinks that they serve here. I will say that tables do fill up sometimes so I would call ahead to see if there are tables open. Love love love. I feel like there aren't many places in Tampa that when you walk through the door you can feel your worries melting off. There are so many bisques to chose from and the shop has very cleverly set examples by the pieces to get your creative juices flowing. Even the coffee bar serves their foods and drinks on hand painted pieces. Which brings me to the beverages... they're tastier than Starbucks or Dunkin. They have daily deals for discounts, be sure to check those out. I'm attaching some pictures from my Mom's bday when we surprised her by going here. She had never been and was like a kid in a toy store when she realized we were there for phase 2 of her bday celebration, it was such a great memory. We came here for Valentine's Day. Had to make a reservation but usually they told us it's walk in. They had set up a little thing for us for valentines! It was a nice touch. we ordered some drinks while we painted. Only downside was that we didn't have enough time. That was our fault thought as we didn't think it would take us longer than an hour. We had a great day for a family friendly bachelorette party to celebrate our cousin's upcoming wedding. From the moment we arrived, we were WOWED! This location is large, spacious and artsy. It has tons of pieces to choose from and I am pretty sure everyone will be pleased. I think they stand above their competition by having their expansive coffee bar and their fast and friendly service. In less than a week, our fired pieces were in our hands. You Do The Dishes is such a fun and relaxing place. As soon as you walk in you are greeted by the smell of the cafe, a cozy atmosphere, and the friendly staff. I've visited You Do The Dishes twice now. Once with my mom for her birthday and the other time with a friend and her four-year-old son. Everyone loved it as there is such a variety in the ceramics available for painting. There is something for everyone. The way it works is you pick a ceramic, choose paint colors and a staff member will pour the paints for you, then you just paint away and forget about the world for a little bit! Once you're done you leave the painted ceramics at the shop and then pick them up a few days later after the pieces have been fired. Also, stamps and stencils are available to help with the painting process. The ceramic prices and painting/fire fee are very reasonable. I pieces I looked at ranged from $5-$30. The cafe items are delicious. I went with a flavored latte both times and found them to be very tasty. I hope to visit again soon! read more

One of my favorite date night spots in Tampa! I've always loved ceramics. Here at You Do the Dishes, you can get those creative juices flowing by painting a piece of pottery of your choice. They have a huge selection of items to paint from mugs to animal pieces and holiday decor. They run different specials throughout the week so the hourly rate you pay will depend on the day you're going on. You will also have to pay for the piece itself which is written on the bottom of each pottery. Compared to other places like this, YDTD is probably the most affordable in Tampa considering they always have specials. You start by choosing a piece of pottery then select your paint colors by writing it on a piece of paper which the staff will provide for you. Once you're all set, you just paint! Come in with an idea on hand before you start to paint or else you'll be wasting a lot of time just searching things to paint on google (I'm guilty of this). Once you're finished painting, let the staff know when you're finished and they will ring you up at the register and take your piece to be glazed and fired. It usually takes a couple of days to get your masterpiece and they place it on the back wall for you to come in and pick it up. YDTD also has a cute little coffee and tea bar with sweets like cupcakes. I love the fact that I can sip on some coffee or a tea while painting. It's super relaxing and really adds to the creative and fun environment of the entire shop. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The prices for pottery are pretty fair and the $8 flat rate always seems like a good deal to me! The staff are super friendly and helpful for tips and tricks and there's tons of painted pieces around for inspiration. There are tons of color options for paint and many kinds of brushes, stencils and sponges. Then when you're done painting it doesn't take very long to get your pieces back! Huuuuuge selection of pieces to paint, from figurines to every dish you could want. They have a ton of paint colors and lots of stencils, sponges and different sized brushes for use. The staff was really nice and filled up my paint tray a gagillion times. They were slammed since it was a Saturday and they had a birthday party on top of regular customers but I never had to wait. Since the tables were full we sat on the couch and coffee table which the staff was fine with, as long as we covered it with paper. You can enjoy coffee or smoothies while you paint and sit at the bar instead of a table. They charge for the piece you paint (which are all priced really cheap compared to what I'm used too) plus a painting fee. Our group of three painted a small elephant figurine, an espressos cup and saucer and a large 3 piece tea pot and the total came out to around $60. read more

I've only been to this location once, as I'm not from the Tampa area, so I can only elaborate on my one-time experience. This place had a large variety of ceramic pieces to choose from, plenty of space and available seating, along with a pleasant atmosphere. I also received excellent customer service by the employees. I didn't purchase anything to eat or drink, so I can't speak on that, however, I did notice all the other painters around me ordering something.
