They have such an assortment of cusines, from Jamaican to Asian to Latin American, you can satisfy your craving for different flavors and expand your palate. What a great place for DATE NIGHT or to spend it with family! They have over 29 restaurants each with their own cultural flare, plus shopping, and ice cream! They even have live entertainment on the weekends and fully accessible parking. The accessibility down the sidewalks is slightly annoying because you are forced to go into the busy road when you can't get through the people or due to the different establishments not clearing a path due to table seating. I would highly recommend the owners of this place demand ADA ACCESSIBILTY throughout by ensuring a fully accessible path down the sidewalks without obstacles like tables in the way. Accessibility sadly is an afterthought and that can be dangerous. I love being able to experience all that this place had to offer and the amazing food but it was difficult to navigate in a wheelchair. If they were more considerate about accessible pathways I would update my review. read more

Sort of a large outdoor food court with many different culinary choices. Also some retail stores. The steel container theme is to some extent more cute in concept than it is in execution, as when the venue isn't extended as many are, the interior can be a bit claustrophobic, like at the eyeglass vendor. I came, I saw, I enjoyed the KRATE at the Grove the open-air entertainment space that brings together storage container one-of-a-kind shops, unique restaurants, and live entertainment, plus a playground offering something for everyone. There are various events throughout the month from bike night, jeep night, throwback Thursday, and of course R&B night which is the last Friday of the month. R&B night was definitely a VIBE from DJ Rock it Rod on the 1's and 2's playing music to set the tone for a night of dancing all night long. What used to be a free event is now a non-refundable $5 in advance online, including a $0.49 service fee or $10 at the door the day of. Outside seating is available but would recommend bringing a lawn chair and prepare to enjoy the night. read more

A friend told me today that they have a market in this place called The Market Elaine on the first Friday of every month, and it was one of the best decisions to go. There's plenty of parking, so no worries there. There were kiosks of all kinds, from food and pet adoptions to soaps, vintage clothing, handmade jewelry, and more. My top 3: Pet adoptions: Oh my God, I'm a sucker for animals, and everywhere I looked, there was a puppy. Thanks to those people dedicated to finding homes for these beautiful puppies/kittens that always deserve a forever home. My happy place. Knit The Duck: I was so impressed by this talent. Every detail of each flower is amazing, and the bags are incredible. I loved it and fell in love. I want everything!!!! Haha. I don't remember the name, but there was a stand that made jewelry with real fruit... Just wow, I was left speechless by how perfect everything was. You felt as if you were in an ethnic city neighborhood with bodegas, etc. Maybe it's a different experience on other nights with different music. Definitely go to vendor night - the first Friday of the month. That's great! Plus, they have some pet adoptions so you can support your local shelters / animal organizations by adopting or donating to them. Agree with the reviewer who said to start at one of the wine places! I loved this concept. Restaurants and shops operating out of boxcar "crates"in long lines -- connected next to each other to make up streets. Since most are tiny, there's seating outside in the pedestrian walkways. It's like a mini village. Outside a few of the places are dj's or piped music. In the center of one end is a main stage area. The night we came there was a 3-piece combo with singers. The band was actually quite good. People were dancing to the music as well. Food wise, it's a mix of so many styles -- sushi, ramen, burgers, Greek, Jamaican etc etc. Even the pickiest of eaters will find something to their liking. In between the restaurants are bakeries, boutiques, smoke shops, etc. One Greek restaurant had a hookah area on their patio. Oh, and for dessert there's gelato and cookies and the like. If you're in the north Tampa area, this is a destination to visit. It was a cool evening when we were there, so it was fun and comfortable to walk around and check out all the places. Can't wait to go back and try some more of the restaurants... They have different entertainment each week. And it's good for kids in that they can run around a bit. This is KRATE... This concept may not be new, but certainly a concept far more enjoyable than the Food Halls popping up everywhere. I love this concept and I wish we lived closer. We were at a birthday party at Chuck E. Cheese and realized the Krate was right next door. I'd never visited before, because it's about 45 minutes from my house. I probably will not go out of my way to drive that far to get here, but if this was 30 minutes or less from my house, I'd be here all the time. Parking was super easy and we were here on a Saturday. There is tons of parking so no issues there. There are so many food options. We ended up getting ice pops and croissants, but I was drooling over all the options. Some of them, like Zukku, I noticed even had indoor seating (it looks like they could put multiple crates together for more space). Otherwise, there was plenty of outdoor seating. They even have a playground. It's on the smaller side, but my son enjoyed it. There were some covered picnic tables outside of the playground where I could sit. I liked how the playground was fenced in so I could sit and be leisurely, without worrying about him. I am so incredibly jealous of everyone that lives closer to here. If you are in the area, you have to check it out and grab a bite (or two) to eat. read more

It consists of many shipping containers that have been converted into restaurants and shops. They are nicely decorated and organized. There are all kinds of food offerings such as burgers, fried foods, ice cream, desserts, Hawaiian food, Middle Eastern food, Asian food and alcoholic drinks. There is plenty of outdoor seating. Some of the types of shops are clothing, cigars, pet items, and window treatments. There is a live entertainment stage with plenty of seating. Krate turned out way better than I expected it to be. I was expecting a hot, crowded, expensive place like in downtown Tampa, and it was none of those things. First of all, there was plenty of parking - both in the parking lot right next to it, and also on the streets in front of each mini restaurant. Second, I loved that there were so many different genres of food. I saw falafel, ramen, Mexican, sushi, burgers, Mediterranean, salads, poke bowls, Argentinian, and a variety of others. They also had a few boutiques, and other stores, but we did not go in them. Most of the food places seemed to have a little indoor seating, as well as umbrella-covered tables in front of their establishment. We first went into the falafel place-but the one worker there said they were out of tahini, and she had to wait until the Owner came in to make some more. Deciding we needed to wander more, we ended up at The Fry Room. Like many of the other restaurants here, they only had 2 people working the entire place, and as a result, food took longer to arrive than expected. However, it was really good, and I would eat here again. I think that because these places are all so small, they don't think they need much staff, and as a result I imagine none of the places are super quick at lunch time. I love that Krate has their own air conditioned restroom in a free standing building nearby. It wasn't very clean, but it was still passable. Krate was a fun place to eat, and I think it would be great for groups of people since there is such a wide variety of food offerings. read more

I really love all the beautiful artwork that is all over at Krate for the individual businesses but also just random pieces. It is fun to walk around and look at everything, but I would have to say that I think there needs to be more shopping to balance out all the eating. There are some, don't get me wrong but this is mostly food based. All the food places are unique but there are some that are kinda repeat in the direction of their food, like two places have crepes. Now for me, having two places that offer crepes so closely will never be a problem. I LOVE them. I remember seeing a while ago a post that came out from Krate with their official hours that all businesses must be open and then it stated that some businesses may have extended night hours but when I was there at 2pm on a Wednesday, there were many places that were closed. That is sad because one that I actually wanted to go into was one of them. I always go during the day to be able to enjoy the artwork and scenery sitting outside so parking has never been a problem, but I am sure late at night and on weekends it can be a pain. So we took mom here today for her birthday. None of us had been here before but had all heard about it. Upon entering the property we were intrigued by all the options for food. Out of our party of seven we ended up ordering from three different restaurants. My wife and I ordered from the Greek one . We will review that one directly. On their page. The Krate as a concept is amazing but in execution we left a little under whelmed. We were here on a Sunday and thought there would be more happening on a weekend. The food all of us had was lack luster. After we ate there was not enough exciting so we left. I really wanted to enjoy this more than I did. It's a great food adventure that's worthy of a drive from Brandon/Valrico. A unique container park concept that I think is way better than Channelside (Sparkman Wharf). It's true that you don't have the view of the bay, but Krate at the Grove offers so much more. It has something for everyone. Do you like tasting a little of everything? Then this is the place for you. There are foods from countries and regions all around the world such as Asian, Puerto Rican, Peruvian, Cuban, Jamaican, French, Greek, Mexican, Hawaiian, Venezuelan, and Mediterranean. They have ice cream, fruit paletas, baked goods, fried foods, charcuterie, pizza, hot dogs, salad, cocktails, candy, cigars, beer, and so much more. There are some boutique type shops in between but I wouldn't say it's a good shopping venue yet. If you want to shop, then you can walk across the parking lot to the Grove which has all kinds of shopping. I mean, it's all right there. Parking is free, and there is plenty of parking spaces. There are some pros and cons. Many businesses aren't open until after 1pm (some even later than that). There were a few places open during my morning visit. It was also a good time to take in the local art while it's cool and quiet. I think that was my favorite part of this visit aside from having a pastry at Bakery-X in a warm and inviting atmosphere. You can always retreat to World Market and come back later to visit more shops that have opened for business. Just check the hours before your visit. Indoor seating in some of these restaurants are limited. I'm hearing that most people go there in the evening when there are events scheduled. Hence, they have lots of outdoor seating for entertainment. I think the one disappointment for me was that Blush Champagne Bar doesn't open until 1pm. I'll have to go back again real soon to try it. It's going to take many more visits to taste my way through it all. There are new restaurants opening up soon as well. It's really an exciting place to be! read more

Krate at the Grove is such an exciting new development in Wesley Chapel, FL. This is a fun, vibrant container park filled with local business owners small container shops. There's a great variety of eateries open already. There are also boutiques, wine shops, brew bar, toy shops plant and rock shops just to name a few that are open or will be open. Something new is opening every week. I have tried El Prince(Mediteranean), Mojo Grill(Cuban / Latin), Palani's Hawaiian, and the Puerto Rican Bakery. Today, I tried Palani's Hawaiian House of Saimin for noodles and shaved ice. They just opened. My favorite so far is Mojo Grill Latin Fusion. I am excited for a Venezuelan, Peruvian, bakeries, sushi, ice cream, and tacos just to name a few of the many options coming. They also have an area with a stage for entertainment and will have festivals and events here. So excited for this fun container park. It's colorful and lively, & so much more to come. Tons of murals to take pics, & lots of new small business owners excited to showcase their new business can be found here. Check it out now, & later when more businesses open. Krate is a new addition to the Grove complex that consists of shipping containers that have been converted into 54 individual business units including retail and restaurants. It's an an open-air complex that you can bring the family to roam, shop, relax and eat. It has a stage where live entertainment can play with seating available for relaxing. I believe it will also have a dog park and children park area once complete. Krate is set to open on June 4th however there are businesses that are open currently. Parking available either along the streets of Krate or within the parking center that it sits within. Brand new spot that officially opens on June 4,2022. Wifey and I came here to check it out. Some shops are open but as mentioned it's not officially open in 11 days. The shops are recycled shipping containers turned into little shops. We checked out the Palani's Hawai'i noodles. Yummers!! Good lunch portion but we really came here for the Hawaiian shaved ice. It was giving Wynwood Miami married with Sparkman wharf Tampa vibes when I first visited here except they're using crates. Although, this is relatively unique on its own. I've been going here for the past year or so, to partake in the many restaurants, bars, and shops in this area. I recall seeing a set of shipping crates in a parking lot during the 2020 pandemic, but didn't think anything of it until I saw this place advertised soon after. They have multiple styles and ethnicities of restaurants here, live music/entertainment stage, and a few unique bars that I made sure to visit the first few times I knew about this place. This place caters to many age groups and demographics, which I love! They also have many family friendly events as featured on their IG page/stories. it's a bit of a drive for me, but it's totally worth it if you have some fun planned in this area. I also use it as a "shop-portunity" excuse to partake in the nearby shopping plaza. They have everything food/drink wise that you could ask for, including, but not limited to a nice café over there.
