Good authentic German sausage. Too bad it's a bit of a drive from us. Owner is very nice.

I buy from their stall at the Ventura Farmer's Market. Amazing sausages, and recently tried the liverwurst. Highly recommended!

Customer service is excellent. Wish they were closer into town, but the yummy lamb made the small drive worth it

    Do you sell German breads?

Hi Diane. We do not sell German bread. We only sell what is produced by us which is German sausages. I can recommend roan mills bakery in Fillmore though. It’s run by a German and the bread is outstanding.…

    Do y'all have turkey legs?

Thank you for your question. We only make turkey sausages though and don’t sell the specific cuts.

As you walk into this deceptively designed shop, you'll find a tight entry. To the right is the…read moreservice counter. Immediately in front of you, is a grocery store with fresh produce, drinks, etc.. There's no real service to speak of. You go in, look at the menu above and behind the register, make your choices and pay the employee at the till. When I went, no one offered to answer any questions or sell me anything. The woman at the counter next to the young man behind the register just watched me while I checked stuff out. On the left between a dark room and the grocery, were large racks of Mexican pastries and breads. I have tried Mexican pastries in the past and have not really enjoyed them. But "hope springs. . ." and all that. So, seeing a decent amount of plump pastries and breads that looked incredibly fresh and enticing, I used the provided tongs and placed a few into a bag (also provided). I'm still thinking about going back for more. They were all moist and flavorful with fillings that were delicately sweetened. So so good. I perused the menu acting as though I hadn't come there for one item only - a breakfast burrito with bacon. I liked the breakfast burrito I had here and would definitely recommend it. It's a full meal capable of holding you for a long time. I would probably want to eat one again before a long day of chores, shopping, or a strenuous hike. I need to feel like I earned the calories. And I wasn't hungry until dinner. Behind the register is a doorway to a whole other experience. The kitchen is safely and sanitarily located behind tall countertops and a refrigerated section. I was excited to see the variety of offerings from south of the border. Are you hankering for a goody you can only get in Mexico, come here and look. You'll probably find it. That dark room I mentioned earlier is a huge dining area with dark iconic furniture that I discovered on my first trip to Mexico many years ago. Black leather and wood barrel shaped chairs with black leather topped round tables scattered around a dark room with black tile floors. There were patrons eating at a couple of the tables who looked like regulars. The size of the dining area made me think it would be a great place for a large gathering. I'm now wondering if they ever have live music and if they would be able to accommodate a large birthday party. There are a couple of picnic tables in the back, off the parking lot, where I ate my meal. I believe the notion of putting tables back there was more like an afterthought because it's not decorated and it's right along the back walkway from parked cars to the restaurant door. It's not regularly attended to, I guess, as there were remnants of another customer's meal at the other table. I also had the thought that it might just be a place for the employees to take a break and eat a meal in peace. Overall, I will be coming back and trying other menu items, baked goods and products from the other room.

Outstanding butcher shop -- absolutely worth a visit!…read more I recently stopped by this butcher specialty shop and was genuinely impressed from the moment I walked in. The quality and freshness of the meat was exceptional, and it was clear that they take a lot of pride in what they do. The selection was fantastic, everything looked incredibly fresh, and the staff was friendly, knowledgeable, and happy to help with recommendations. You can tell this is a place that truly cares about quality and customer service, especially from the owner who comes out and talks to you, filling you in on everything. What really stood out was the attention to detail and the overall experience. It's refreshing to find a local shop where you can get high-quality products, personal service, and that old-fashioned butcher-shop experience all in one place. I left with some great cuts for BBQ and shrimp scampi. I will definitely be coming back. If you're looking for quality meat and excellent service, I highly recommend giving this place a try. Five stars without hesitation! It is definitely a true gem for meat, seafood (some fresh and some frozen). The quality and freshness are a top priority. The owner was incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and informative, taking the time to answer my questions and make helpful recommendations. That kind of personal service is becoming harder and harder to find, and it really made the experience stand out. It's wonderful to have a local shop where you can find exceptional products while also receiving genuine, friendly service. I highly recommend Brown's Top Shelf Meats to anyone looking for quality meat and seafood and a great overall experience. I've learned that private chefs stop here in the morning. Absolutely understood with the quality products available. There are many additional items to purchase like oak-aged vinegar from Moderna, Italy; salts; and local honey that is amazing. Looking forward to their new addition of produce and herbs. It's on Townsgate, look for the signs. Five stars all the way! I'll definitely be back!

Very average BBQ…read more.. I'm a self-admitted BBQ purist, impartial to NC BBQ, but have also had some of the best BBQ in TX (Terry Blacks, Goldees, and Franklin), and this is simply not TX BBQ. The restaurant is situated off the beaten path in the business district, but it's impossible to miss with the huge smoker sitting out front. It's a small restaurant with just a few tables and the ordering situation is a bit wonky (just one small window to order and pickup from). The staff was ultra-friendly and the food came out quick. As for the food, it was just okay... The BBQ itself wasn't bad, but it was definitely precut and kept in warmers (this would give a pit master down in TX a myocardial infarction as this is a huge "no no"); the sides were actually really good though. The total was about $30 for lunch, which to me was a bit high based on the quality of the BBQ. Overall... Not bad, not great, but not certainly TX BBQ.
