Absolutely horrific experience here with stylists that lack knowledge and professionalism. I came from out of town to get a wash, condition and straighten of my curly weave with leave out. I repeatedly asked the stylist to lower the iron temperature and apply heat protectant to which she claimed she did. I was my hair out today to find my leave out limp, lifeless and with no curl. She completely fried my hair and it's damaged. I messaged the owner who took no accountability and said "it was only a little bit of hair you had left out". I was mortified at the carelessness. I had a wedding to attend so I began the search for the perfect stylist! I found this salon on the site where I purchased my wig I made an appointment 2 weeks ago a week later I was told the Main stylist would not be available l, reluctantly I agreed to see another stylist. I wanted the owner to do my hair because I was told she was the best, and being that I've never had a wig installation before I wanted to make sure it was done beautifully. Unfortunately that did not happen. My appointment was made for 10:45 am Saturday morning, To my surprise when I arrived arrived at 10:30 AM the salon was closed. I called the salon And left a message the receptionist called me back about 5 minutes later ( I assume she was working remotely since the salon was closed) she advised me that my stylist would be 15 minutes late. My stylist arrived at 11:30 am! As you can imagine I was incredibly annoyed, but nonetheless I wanted to show her grace because I understand things happen. I showed the stylist a picture of how exactly I wanted the wig to look (Natural and flawless) that did not happen. -The lace was cut too far back - The lace was cut in a round shape not natural looking at all. - The wig was not tacked down properly in the back. The wig started lifting in the front the next day!!!! (Day of wedding I was in ) I'm incredibly disappointed I wasted my money. Wow! Ceecee had done my hair years ago and it took me some time to realize that she opened a shop down the block from my house! Cee Cee can do some hair but a hidden gem in this salon is Lu (I'm not sure of her full name but it begins with Lu and she's listed as a junior stylist). Anyway Lu did a sew-in for me with minimum leave out and she did such a good job on my hair. I was sooo shocked. She has a dope technique to ensure that the weave is really flat when it's sew on the head. She is now officially my stylist. This style is amazing and pictures can't capture its true beauty. I used kinky hair to achieve this style and she flat ironed the hair on high. My only complaint which is a big one is she used tooo much heat on my leave out. I had to ask her to lower the heat on the flat iron and she passed the flat iron on my hair more than once. I've accepted the fact that that section will be heat damaged. I'll consider getting a closure on my next install. Appointment - I booked online around 3pm on the day of. I'm truly shocked Lu was available. My appointment was at 6:15pm and she didn't start my hair until 6:26 pm. I think she was cleaning or doing something. I came with my hair washed and slightly blow dried. And once I sat in her chair, she went to work and started braiding. She finished by 8:15pm. I have natural 4 a-z hair and I'm also tender headed. Before she began I asked her not to braid my hair too tight and she did not. Her braids were neat and efficient. Everyone in the salon is very nice and very inviting. I'll be back. After the worst hair appointment of my life. I left with an over-bleached overplucked Custom wig made at Youceeme's. She was so angry, after having me wait for 2hrs with no explanation or common courtesy to explain that she's having a delay, that I didn't even bother complaining. I paid and left...crying. I come here for everything. $90 special by Des. It looked so good and it lasted me 6 weeks. She took her time and it was beautiful. Kisna is also great. She does my natural hair and my silk press lasts me for two weeks or longer. She cuts it good too and doesn't cut too much off. Youceeme does my wigs and closures and frontals. I wanted to give this salon 5 stars but it fell short on professionalism. I felt welcomed from the moment i walked in and I absolutely love the color that was done. I left feeling like a new person. I thought work done on other customers looked fabulous. However, a salon is a place of business and one of the stylists and a customer were loudly gossiping about their workplace (not the salon) for the entire time I was there. The gossip was bad enough but the profanity was startling. I will definitely be going back to get my hair done, and I hope to not have the same experience. I walked in here with no appointment just to have a consultation. I've never worn a frontal or a wig before so I'm just wondering about the process. I spoke to the owner first and then the colorist and they were very patient with explaining the process. I asked several questions that she gladly answered in depth. Then she (socalulu/colorist) wrote down the lengths of the hair I needed and what size frontal to purchase.
