I have been a member of Youfit for some time now and I think this is one of the better gyms in Tallahassee. The machines are always well maintained so you know you will never have to worry about a lack of available equipment, unlike other gyms around this town (aka Gold's). I like the amenities that are available with the Lime Card, especially the unlimited classes and the guest privileges. The staff are also very friendly. I recently took personal training sessions for a few months with Alex, one of the Youfit trainers. He is knowledgeable and professional. Alex helped me to learn what areas of training that I need to focus on based on my individual goals. I now use a lot of what he taught me in my personal routine. Update (9.26.26) DO NOT get a membership here. My experience with Youfit has been one of, if not the worst, customer service experience I have ever had. After 2 years of back and forth and being told "this would be handled" I received a call from a law office regarding a collections payment & threatening my credit score. A collections payment that shouldn't exist due to in their own words the "negligence" of a manager at the location I cancelled my member ship at. To summarize, I canceled my membership when their location randomly decided to close a few short months after opening. The manager that was "handling it" did not unbeknownst to me. So I was confused when I kept receiving charges from Youfit. I blocked the payments, called an open location and spoke to a manager you said "they would handle" after making me jump through hoops to do so. YET AGAIN, a year later I am in the same position but with threats from a law office. I called again and after 3 weeks of communication and being told "it would be handled" what was the result: "You have to pay the fee or it's gonna effect your credit score starting tomorrow." Almost, like despite my calls and messages for the few weeks leading up to that conversation I was suppose to receive a call back and each time I called the manager was "busy." Only to be able to speak with me the day before it starts effecting my credit, like forcing my hand to make a payment on an account that was suppose to be closed but was not. Update (9.19.24) So after going back and forth with their team for a little over a year about their manager not canceling my member ship as requested (followed all the instructions he gave me) at their location that closed down on West Pensacola St. I have been informed that they can't do anything since it was sent to collections and because the incident happened to long ago. REALLY!!!! The reason this even started is because your manager at the location I canceled my membership at "dropped the ball," their own managers words when I first called to complain. I contacted you once this was discovered because I randomly started getting calls from a collection agency. Nice facilities, awful, I repeat, AWFUL management. Save yourself the headache. The cheap membership isn't worth it if your serious about fitness If you're reading this review, make sure to take not of how they do not engage with negative views. It's not because all of them are invalid complaints, it's more so that the management staff is either not given the tools or competent enough to actually solve the issue. I did not want to write a 1 star review; however, they have been extremely disappointing with assisting in my membership cancelation. I signed up with my fiancé a year or so ago at their Pensacola location. After a year of enjoying the gym, I would come to find out my location would be closing. They were offering easy cancelation for the inconvenience, and after speaking with the manager and following their instructions it appeared it was a done deal. For additional context I also closed the card that was on file. However months later I received a call from a collections agency stating that I owed them money! But how I closed my account. After speaking to manager at this location, I was informed that the manager of the Pensacola location had "dropped the ball" and did not do several tasks they were suppose to complete when exiting the company. I was expecting since it was on their end that it would be an easy fix, but I was unfortunately incorrect. I had to supply proof of my cancelation email, among other details. After providing that information I was told that they would work on resolving this issue. It has now been several months later and I'm still receiving calls from collection agency regarding this bill. The frustrating part is I worked for youfit several years ago, and I'm not sure what changed, but the focus on customers service and hospitality is levels below what it was as this would have been an easy fix by manager when I was employed there. read more

The atmosphere is really great with local staff. The management of facility is a challenge. One example, the shower has no steady hot water since October 2025 reported. Not fixed as of December 2025. The YouFit gym on Monroe street is a dishonest business. Due to a move out of the area, I tried to terminate my membership (~15/month). Suddenly, I had to go up to corporate level to get released and the documentation and correspondence required was ridiculous. The soaked me for a $50 "termination fee", plus, they spread it over two months, so I also had to pay normal due during that period even though I am no longer in the area. This is money gouging. Absolutely terrible gym. Not sure what happened here, as management and the people here were great before COVID, but now full of meat heads, slamming weights, workers wearing inappropriate clothing, and just being narcissistic, intimidating individuals. It's dirty, machines are old and not maintained. PLUS, canceling membership IS THE HARDEST THING TO DO! Seriously, they use a third party that is near impossible to work with. We have tried now for 2 months to cancel and still being met with fees. Seriously reconsider going here. There is a perfectly good Planet Fitness off Capital Circle. read more

With a huge recent expansion, an updated review is required! Youfit on Mahan had been the smaller of the two Youfit locations in town, but now, with a recent expansion, they rival the N. Monroe location for both size and amenities! The main area, full of rows upon rows of cardio equipment, your typical weight machines, and a surprising amount of free weights and racks, provides you with all the equipment you could ever need. Plus, since this location is less popular, at least for the moment, you don't have to bounce on equipment and guard it the minute it becomes available, even during the busiest hours. I usually show up between 7 and 9pm and don't find too much trouble in getting to the racks and machines I typically use. The expansion into adjoining space added a ton of free workout areas, including battle ropes, TRX ropes, jump boxes, and lots of other free weight/body weight equipment. There is also a new child-care area and group classroom now! Despite the expansion, prices have stayed the same at $10-20 per month and staff is available and happy to help if needed. Overall, the much-needed expansion brings this Mahan location up to par with the N. Monroe location and makes it a place I love to work out at! read more

I've been going to this gym about 4 months now. They had a special for $10 a month for a year. The $10/month plan only gives you access to the gym though, but you are not in a contract for a year. The $20/month is a year contract and gives you access to unlimited tanning, the gym itself, and unlimited guest passes (I believe you can only bring one at a time). Pros: Equipment is all new Isn't super crowded Two big screen TVs at the weights area TVs at every cardio machine Plays electronic music Cons: Lack of a full squat rack with a free barbell Dumbells only go up to 70lbs No fitness classes The special is still going on, so get it while you can! I went in to cancel my membership and was told I could not do it because the account was turned into collections. I was not told of this and was not allowed to cancel the membership until I paid off the account in the amount of $96.72. After paying I asked for an email confirmation and they could not provide one. I then asked for a printout acknowledging the canceled membership and they would not provide one. This is unacceptable and I suspect illegal. I asked for their corporate contact to escalate the matter and they would not provide any information. In short, they were unable to provide me with any proof of the cancelled membership. I intend to get the $96.72 back because this membership had been cancelled. I was able to adjust my training schedule to a less frequent (and therefore less expensive) option without any additional fees. I did need to give a month's notice, but I was already paying full price to begin with, so that's not too terrible. I still don't love some of the pricing policies associated with STARTING to work with a trainer, but I appreciate that adjustments are a bit more forgiving than enrolling. I still really enjoy the facilities, and understand that a local franchise shouldn't be punished for corporate policies that are not super customer friendly. read more

This place is a joke... Check the Better Business Bureau reviews at BBB.com F's a plenty. ALL F's across the board. $20 to apply... $30 yearly dues just for the hell of it... Went in to get the $10 no contract deal. Was hard sold the $20 "lime card" as it allows you to bring a guest. Why not? I figured I might as well pay for my girlfriends at the same time... what they don't tell you is that when you pay more for the lime card, it's a $100 cancellation fee. Actually! Not only do they not tell you that. They assure you that you can still cancel anytime with no penalty! Trust me... I asked several times to make sure. That was a slight lie to say the least. They offered to drop my cancellation fee to $50 after I voiced my discontent. Use that to your advantage if you can. However, this comes down to ethics for me. This place is far from a deal. Worst scam. I initially wanted to sign for 6 months only (before my wedding) as I live far away and I couldn't commit on a full year. The manager of the mahan Tallahassee location talked me into signing for a full year (less expensive than 6 months with a coupon). After a full year they automatically charged again my card of the full year membership (in one shot) without my consent. Went there few days later to close my account (supposed to be anytime with a $10 charge, I was aware of it and didn't had any problem to pay the cancellation fee), They made me pay again $10, but refuse to refund me the next 11 months. I'm currently filling for fraud, as the contract says that I can stop anytime for a charge of $10. I paid, the cancellation fee, it should not be a problem for me to get my money back. Also few days before they charged me they had one of their sale rep calling me to make me take some private, I explicitly explained that I wasn't interested at all to even resign for a year membership as I live so far away. So they knew that I wasn't going to sign for another year. Ruined my Christmas, I barely had enough money for family gifts. Stay away, very shady. Will never sign anything from them again. read more

I honestly want to like this place. I was a member of youfit at the Monroe location in Tallahassee Florida. I loved it!! The staff and trainers are super nice! The Mahan location is just a big sales pitch. I was overwhelmed when I came in on a Friday afternoon to see if I wanted to join this location. It was super awkward. I felt like someone was trying to force feed me. It had gotten so bad that the next thing I knew I was looking at training packages for 200$ plus a month. Not to mention the 60 $ down today plus the 42$ annual fee. By the end of the conversation I just really wanted to go back home get in the bed and enjoy my day off. I really though "youfit" was the place I could actually fit in. My two stars was because of my free day pass and the happy birthday email I got this year!So thanks for that! All in all I have been very pleased with the services and staff at this club. I would like to caution those who choose to sign up for training. My trainer has been Great! My problem has been with the two additional months I have gotten locked into paying because I did not complete a cancellation 30 days prior. I thought I had only signed up for 3 months...? Somehow I missed the fine print, or the comment about needing to give 30 days notice. I accepted that I did not follow policy and asked at that time for cancellation prior to next month's withdrawal. Apparently this was done just shy of 30 days, so you guessed it, I am now paying for month 5 of my "3 months" of training I thought I signed up for :( PS. I think it is only fair that consumers know what they are signing up for. My review is a list of the extra fees that you may pay for a YouFit month to month membership. Customers should not take the "$10 dollars down, $10 dollars a month" introductory deal at face value. You have to read the fine gray print in the Tallahassee contract (yes, it is a contract) to see the extra costs. When you join: 10 dollars down (as stated in the ad) 10 dollars per month (as stated in the ad) + 20 dollars "prepaid dues" ALSO: You will pay a $30 dollar annual fee (date undisclosed) You will pay a $25 dollar "processing fee" to cancel any month to month membership. You will pay $100 dollars to cancel the yearly 19.99 membership early. You will pay $5 dollars extra per month if you change your online billing payments. You will pay $10 extra dollars if you are late on a payment. You will pay $5 extra dollars each month (so 15 a month) for your membership after the first twelve months. You must end your membership within ten days of your next bill or you may get charged for the next cycle. Total extra "side" costs in every month to month membership: $75 dollars minimum. My boyfriend has a membership here and I often go as his guest. I pretty much only use the treadmill/cardio machines. I'm not a big weight machine person and they don't have much space for mat workouts. The machines are always in good condition and clean considering how busy that place always is! I've never had to wait for a machine but a majority of the time they are 75% full after 5. Not sure what the morning crowd is like. Biggest request/complaint, let people use the side room when there isn't a class! I'd get a membership if there was more floor space. Also, a rowing machine would be awesome! read more

Super basic gym. It doesn't have a lot of equipment that I like (which I should have checked before If they had them, which his my fault). The people there will literally try to sell you anything. I got the lime membership because the guy kept telling me to get it, so I got it only because he told me I can downgrade free of charge and it actually saved me money to initially open up a lime. Anyways I went to the free personal training which was super disappointing. He taught me Three workouts and only on my arms.... And then tried getting me to sign up for his personal fitness training. I said no because I didn't have money to and he said "you don't have $20 to set aside each month?" Which I thought was kind of rude.. What also bothers me is they mop the floors while people are working out and they don't find that a safety hazard! One time I was walking to the treadmill and I almost slipped when I got on because the floors were so wet. But the gym is very basic and gets the job done. First, the "cancellation processing fee" is ridiculous. I'm moving out of the state, so I went to cancel my membership today and found out there's $25 cancellation processing fee. Nobody told me when I signed up, what a scam! Second and more importantly, their personal trainers suck!!! Don't go with any of them. (OK, I don't workout with trainers, especially after I saw what they did.) I've been working out in that gym for about a year, there are many many incidents I just wanted to go up to the person and told him/her to fire his/her personal trainer, but I restrained myself. I've see a lot of the trainers talking to their clients throughout the workout --- if you can talk all the time when you workout, then you are not exercising hard enough. I've seen many of the trainers don't bother to correct the form of their clients --- everyone knows poor form means bigger chance to get injured and not exercising muscles properly may end up with weird shape ones. I've seen trainers encourage their clients to use much more weight that their clients should --- the trainers are pulling the equipment from the other end --- that's another inclination for unnecessary injury. I've seen the trainers moving the clients from equipment to equipment without apparent focus all the time --- what good that will do to their clients in "shape-up" purpose? I don't know how these people got their certificates. I would never go with any of them. They may look good themselves but clearly they don't care enough for their clients. Go search online, you will find better info there. Bodybuilding.com; simplyshredded.com; bodyrock.tv are great sources. Check them out! I guess the only nice thing is their staff seem friendly enough. After all the hidden fees, the rates are not good at all. Now gold's gym offers $10 dollar monthly fee as well. AVOID AT ALL COSTS! They reel you in with promises of paying 10 dollars a month. Tons of hidden fees, including cancellation fees, an incompetent staff, and lackluster at best facilities. The dumbbells don't go above 70 lbs, they don't have real squat racks, and certain lifts are prohibited like deadlifts and squats. I understand olympic lifts wouldn't be allowed, but seriously.... no deadlifts??!?! No squats?!?!?! What kind of gym is this?! Also, their hours are awful. They close at 11 during the week and 8 on sundays. Other gyms in the area are open until 1 every night of the week and open at 5 am. Youfit opens at 8. Bottom line: AVOID AT ALL COSTS! Hidden fees!! I paid first and last month's when I joined up but was not informed about the cancellation fee of $25. Then when I went to cancel 7 days prior to my bill date they told me I had to give them at least 10 DAYS notice, so therefore I would be charged next month's membership as well. Also don't buy a personal regular combination lock for their lockers, they have to be forced on to fit; you'll need to find something smaller. It's gonna cost me $35 to cancel but right now I will consider it a stupid tax fee to get rid of them. read more

This gym offers so much in terms of the availability of machines and gyms. I like that it's a fitness gym that offers a friendly environment. Their employees are very friendly too and always help members out with the anything from workouts to explanations on how things are supposed to be done. I was going to this gym for over a year. Recently, priorities in my life have changed and I couldn't dedicate the time I wanted to going there anymore. So I went in the other day to cancel my membership and this is where they failed. The employee's attitudes are awful. The moment I told them I wanted to cancel my membership, all I got was ridicule. They were basically making fun of me for canceling saying, my "excuse" wasn't a good reason and laughing. And they did all this with their backs to me. Up until this point I didn't have a problem with this place. It's a basic gym and yes there was a $10 cancellation fee which I didn't know about until then but whatever, it's a business. However respect and common courtesy are important to me and these punks didn't show me any. Therefore I won't be going back there again and I will tell my friends to stay away. I enrolled for one year and they never stopped deducting from my account once the one year agreement was up. There was nothing in MY agreement that authorized a continued enrollment after the initial year. This is not a review of the facility -- just it's wacky billing structure! I went in last week to sign up. The staff was very nice and professional. She explained the various fees and entered all of my info into the computer. BUT, when I went to pay, I was told that I could NOT use a credit card; I needed to have a checking account. Okay, so I pulled out my debit card. Nope! They wanted to have a bank routing and account number. Therefore, I left. However, a few days later I had some time (and by then I had found that I do actually own a checkbook), so I went back. The bank account info was entered, and then I was told that I was all set, as soon as I paid. Huh? Go to it, says I, you have my bank number. FOR THE LUVVA MONKEYS! I was told that I needed a credit or debit card to pay the up front (non-monthly) fee! Guess what I did not have with me? Right. So, I told them to please remove me from their system, because I would not be back. The staff explained to me that the company had changed its billing policy on July 1, and that there have been some disgruntled folks since then. I totally understand. read more

YouFit is a basic, no-frills gym that gets people in the door by offering very low, "no-commitment" monthly contracts -- usually with a $10 teaser rate. However, be careful to read all the fine print before you sign on that little electronic screen! There is an application fee, an annual membership fee, an automatic bump to the monthly fee after 12 months, and then a cancellation fee when you have finally had enough of the nonsense. I signed up at YouFit over a year ago in order to have a few personal training sessions with a specific professional who worked with clients there. I never used the gym after those few sessions and had intended to cancel my membership. At just $10 a month though, it was a very easy thing to put off. However, the monthly charges have increased automatically over time. Today I noticed a $48 charge had been made against my checking account (they insist on doing ACH charges rather than credit or debit cards -- and now I know why). It turns out that YouFit had just billed a new annual membership fee (on top of the monthly recurring charges). Startled by this fee, I went by the gym to explain that I actually did not wish to renew for the upcoming year. The manager said that was fine, but he refused to refund the annual renewal fee that had been processed only hours earlier. While YouFit may have a technical legal right to refuse to refund an annual membership that I was telling them I didn't want and would not ever use, what does it say about the values of a company that is willing to make its profits that way? read more
