My niece Alexis Sillaway attended the school, when she was young and was in the same class with Molly Quinn & Katilyn Dever who went on to pursue acting as a career and got their start from Dallas Young Actors Studio. For a short period Alexis was with a local agency in Dallas and had a support role in one episode of Prison Break. Haley her younger sister attended classes at YAS and was cast in a Pizza Inn commercial that we still watch to this day. While neither of my nieces decided to make acting their full-time career they gained so much from the experiences at DYAS. This is such an awesome school that I have flown my niece Arabelle Quiggle from San Diego and I came in from Phoenix to bring her to DYAS to pursue her goal of becoming an actress. I wouldn't take her to any where other than DYAS; the industry experience, expertise, and guidance from Linda Seto are truly priceless. If Arabelle has the talent to become an actress Linda has the dedication to her students, if they work hard, to provide the opportunities that no other school or course could offer. Almost three years ago, we looked all over Dallas for a good acting school for our son. What we found with DYAS was much more than that. The coaches are fantastic and not only has our son been able to build his skill set as an aspiring actor, but perhaps equally important, he has developed production skills as well. They have a full studio and encourage all the students to work in front as well as behind the camera, where they learn the dedication and skills required to produce TV and feature length projects. From sound recording to operating cameras to editing and writing, the students learn many aspects of the industry to prepare them for their future. They even have special events (Like Hollywood Showcase) throughout the year, bringing in casting directors and agents from LA to watch and provide feedback and direction. Linda has tremendous knowledge and guidance for those students that wish to pursue a career in acting and I have seen many students go to LA from this school. The students learn so much about the TV/Film industry and get to experience script reading, scene study, improvisation, character & role development, behind the scenes, green screen, voice over, and more... which also builds self-confidence, comfort speaking in front of others, and working well in a group environment. I am so happy we found this studio. I have a daughter that likes to perform she is in dance, gymnastics and musical theater already, but it wasn't enough-she needs the whole performing arts experience. I didn't want to go straight to trying to "audition" for things, nor do I know anything about how to pursue anything to that nature anyways. After one visit our daughter wanted to be apart of this group as soon as her trial class was over and now we are in our 2nd year with the studio. What we love about it is my daughter's excitement every week coming here. I think the accolades, research and that it's a non-profit company and coming to meet the owner Linda answers any questions one might have. It also will excite you and your child. Our sons, Malachi and Gabriel, attend Dallas Young Actors Studio and take acting and filmmaking, respectively. They really love it. The opportunity that DYAS affords them is awesome. Both of them have met some other great kids and made new friends. The acting class has been great, not only because Malachi has learned the craft of acting but also the communication skills that he has learned have been invaluable. The film making class has also been a really great experience for Gabriel. He's learning skills that he can use in the future. Finally, I just want to say that the DYAS Director, Linda Seto, is a really awesome person to work with. Dallas Young Actor's Studio offers a positive, safe, and fun place to learn acting while building self confidence. While practicing monologues, commercials, skits, green screen, voice over, and improv, the kids are learning life skills such as eye contact, self discipline, public speaking, and socialization. The opportunities are amazing. Twice a year, they are afforded an opportunity to audition for the Texas and Hollywood Casting agents. For your resume, they offer short films and live stage presentation in December. My son feels at home here and said the Super Stars was his favorite camp this summer. After calling several acting class businesses in the DFW, I have to say Linda's business is real and she really believes in the kids n teens who believe in themselves. I have seen my own sons attitude change in such a positive way and improved in becoming the person he is to be, (I cannot wait to see the outcome of my son being in the path way he should be)but I have to say ,it's the support from the training and the coaching from this business. We have been at DYAS for the past few years. The acting program is amazing -- my son wants to be a professional tv/film actor and they have the unique curriculum and industry contacts for him to reach his dreams.
