This is quite a long review but necessary…read more I've been going to eye doctors since I first entered college. Over the years, I have been a patient with many doctors. During that time, I have had good experiences and bad experiences, the worst being in November, 2023, a few days after Thanksgiving, when I was seemingly rushed through the entire examination process with two negative results. First, I was neither able to see clearly with my eyeglasses nor my contact lenses. Second, and most horribly, even though I wore an N-95 mask, I contracted Covid with the first symptoms rearing their ugly heads three days later. As a result, I was stuck in my room for 23 days and didn't test negatively until December 23rd! Little did I know, I had mild Chronic Kidney Disease at the time and this dropped me down an entire stage in severity. I have not recovered to this very day. This horrific experience caused me to stop seeing eye doctors for fear of having my kidneys affected once again. Well, 2 1/2 years later, my eyesight had gotten so bad that my eyeglasses and contacts became totally useless. I was now experiencing migraine headaches. I just had to see an eye doctor. So, I did some research and settled on Visionworks in nearby Turnersville, NJ. What I can state, without question, is that this Visionworks office is the Mercedes of eye care facilities! From making my first appointment online, to receiving the end products, everything was great. When I first walked into the "showroom," I was warmly greeted by the receptionist, Caryl, who was smiling and seemed genuinely happy to see me. I was not questioned by anyone about my wearing a mask. My initial impression of the facility was that it was large, bright, clean and welcoming. I had already filled out the required forms online so I didn't need to waste time with those. I waited about 2 minutes when I was taken back to a room where my eyes were tested by reading an eye chart. I had an eye air puff test to check for glaucoma and I was tested for color blindness. I was then brought into the eye exam room. Who greeted me was a doctor who wore a mask and gloves and wiped down all of the equipment with alcohol that would touch my face! That immediately relieved ALL of my stress and concerns completely! Here the major evaluations were performed like I had never seen before. I saw images of the back of my eyes on a computer and this most wonderful doctor of optometry (who, sadly, asked to remain nameless) explained every single test as she performed them. She gave me the very BEST eye exam I had ever received! She was thorough, kind, understanding and most professional. She answered every question without hesitation. Back in the showroom, Caryl told me to take my time to look at the huge number of frames in every price, style and brand. I was overwhelmed by the enormous selection. I made my selection and was then greeted by a smiling Jocelyn who sat me at a desk and thoroughly explained the items that made up my bill, showing what my insurance paid and what I would owe. The final price was most reasonable comparable to what I had paid in past years. Jocelyn was so down-to-earth and felt like a friend I had known for years. She informed me of approximately when my trial pair of contacts and glasses would be ready. The bottom line is that I am able to see clearly with BOTH my contact lenses and my eyeglasses for the first time since 2006! Every person with whom I came in contact was unbelievable in how I was treated. I am extremely happy. This office now has my business. The day of surgery, he talked me through the whole surgery and told me what he was doing each step of the way. He was also reassuring during the surgery, especially when I had questions or concerns. The procedure was painless for me. It was just uncomfortable, more than anything. I would highly recommend Dr. Hyder if you are considering getting LASIK done!

He was patient, listened to my concerns, explained what he discovered, and treated the issue to enable me to proceed with the cataract surgery. Dr. Weinstock performed laser refractive surgery on me in June 2018…read more I first met him during a consultation in April 2018 where he spent nearly two hours with me doing an extremely thorough consultation. He answered all of my and my wife's questions and concerns, and never tried to push an unnecessary procedure on me. I had other consultations for laser surgery before ultimately selecting Dr. Weinstock, and all of my other consultations felt rushed and very sales-like and not at all clinical. Dr. Weinstock was readily available to address questions via email and text, and was flexible in his scheduling of in-person follow-ups to accommodate my needs (early/weekend appointments). The surgery itself was successful, taking less than an hour and completely painless. I had clear vision a few hours after my surgery and was completely recovered within 24 hours. I have no residual dry-eye, my night vision is crystal clear and without any starbursts (common post-LASIK issues that I did not experience). Getting LASIK was easily the best decision of my life, and I'm very glad that I chose Dr. Weinstock.

The staff at the front desk was super friendly and happy to take a look, even though this wasn't a normal appointment or purchase. Dr. Moon was great. The screws on my old metal frames were incredibly tight, but he knew exactly what to do. He loosened them up and carefully transferred my lenses into the new frames in just a few minutes. What I thought might turn into a hassle ended up being quick and easy, and I appreciated how patient and professional he was. The whole visit reminded me why it's worth going to a good local optician. Because of how helpful everyone was, I definitely plan to come back later this year for my annual eye exam and to get new frames and progressive lenses through them. It's nice to find a place that treats people well and pays attention to the details.

Although another place said I was…read morea good candidate for it, Dr. Ringel disagreed because I was suffering from dry-eye and laser (and now Lasik) would make my condition worse. Dr. Ringel has been treating me for dry-eye and found a solution that will work with my eyes. My eyes no longer itch, look red, or have pain from constant rubbing. When I was seeing flashes of light in both eyes, Dr. Ringel saw me often and referred me to a specialist for more evaluation and to concur with his diagnosis. He also caught the beginning stages of cataracts which he will treat when it becomes necessary. Dr. Ringel and his wonderful staff put patients first. They are friendly and courteous. They take the time to answer my questions, often repeatedly, without being annoyed. The Optician, Lou Giorgi, is in the same office, so my prescription is sent electronically and I don't have to travel to get glasses or contacts. Never had a problem with my glasses purchased here, and cleaning and small repairs are free. It's a personable but professional office. I had a skin tag under my eye and one on my eyelid that bothered me, but my dermatologist wouldn't remove them. A surgeon in Dr. Ringel's office, Dr. Johnson, removed them. I highly recommend Dr. Ringel, his colleagues, and staff.
