The painter put so much paint on the doors they became bound and would not close. He left paint all over the sink and tub in the bathroom, paint on the kitchen sink and countertop. These guys are slobs and should not be trusted to do a neat job. read more

Absolutely terrible . PLEASE READ!!! Scammers would sum up my experience with young moon painting . 1.) women giving me estimates charged me for two ceilings when I specifically said no ceilings. She spoke perfect English . I called and asked to adjust the estimate because I didn't not request 2 ceilings . She then sent me a new estimate that was only $100 cheaper....!?? That makes sense sike. 2.) when the ONE painter arrived he asked me, (5'3 110 lbs) to move my own refrigerator.... he then began to drag it, extremely scratching my white tiles . Told him to stop but he did not listen. 3.) paint job was VERY SLOPPY AND THICK CHEAP PAINT. 4.) got green paint all over the sides of my new white oven . 5.) random green smudges on the white cabinets and new refrigerator!!!!!! 6.) green paint and smudges on tile floors. 7.) they left the light switches uncovered. That could've been very dangerous. Especially with an elder in the house ! When I sent a email regarding all these factors they scheduled a time for a supervisor to come check it out as I had requested. Supervisor came. He right off the bat told me and other painter will be coming to fix the problems . Mind you it's Christmas time and I have a life and schedule. I didn't approve of a painter coming. Plus I've dug deeper into these reviews and noticed a lot of other people were highly disappointed with the "2nd try" At that point I just don't trust they know what they're doing. THEY ARE TRYING TO JUST MAKE A QUICK BUCK. The supervisor listened to my comments and concerns . He then disregarded any of the damages that were made to my property and appliances and tried convincing me to just let the painter " fix it real quick" .......... these damages and sloppy thick paint job can not be "fixed real quick " Once again DAMAGED MY PROPERTY AND DID NOTHING BUT TRY TO PAINT OVER THEIR MISTAKES. I will never trust this company and I don't understand how the hell you've been in business for 38 years . You need to be shut down ASAP. read more

Young moon painting was the one that was responsible for cleaning the apartment and I jumped into a mess, especially the bathroom. See the photos from the day of my move in. I called and complained and they were nice enough to set up a follow up to do the job right. Day of the reclean, they came 30 min early and called me and asked where i was. The appointment was in 30 minutes- I was out. The guy had the audicity to give me attitude. He ended up doing a terrible job again and at that point I just gave up and let him leave. There was no point in arguing since I just wanted him out of my apartment. If you are thinking of hiring this company, think again. I don't know who these people are that had such great service (maybe friends doing reviews) but HELL NO! I had this done a few months ago and never got around to writing this review. Someone just asked me who I used to paint my bedroom because they were looking for a painter. (They've never seen the finished job and I never said anything to anyone about the problems I had.) The painter showed up for the estimate with his wife, okay. He barely spoke English. I had to say two or three times what I wanted done. He gave me a quote of $300. I was like WOW, that's a great price! So I called and set up a date for the following Saturday. He showed up on time, again with his wife. She did no painting, just sat on the bed while he did it. Here's the cons: 1.) I went over again the EXACT SAME thing I showed him the week before and he said that it was $20 extra. (That he could say in English.) I didn't add anything to what I wanted, but he said I did. 2.) He did not use any painter tape. 3.) I forgot to remove one outlet cover and instead of asking me to remove it, he painted around it leaving unpainted walls. 4.) He painted the small strip of ceiling molding the same color of the wall, even though I asked him to paint it the white color I had for the door molding. 5.) I had to scrape off paint from the door's handle. Before I could come in an look it over he had already cleaned up, asked for his money and was walking out the door. When I said I wanted to look it over he "didn't understand what I was saying." I called and told the office the problems and said they would send him out the following week to fix the problems. When he arrived the following Saturday I "tried" to explain to him the problems. Regarding the molding I put my hand on the side of the closet wall that pops out about 12" and said "I didn't want the molding this color blue (and pointed to the molding) I wanted it white." He sloppily painted the molding white getting white paint on the now blue wall. He also put one coat of white paint on the part of the closet wall I had me hand on to say I didn't want the molding to be this color. Even if I wanted that part of the closet wall to be white, it was just a sloppily light coat of white paint on it. I called the office again and told them NOT to send that same painter to fix the "new" problems. Ex. White paint from the molding on the wall. The following Saturday two other painters (husband and wife) came. They also did not speak English. And they thought they were there for the "actual" painting job, not to fix the problems. I had to call the office and use the girl there as an interpreter. They did look more professional dressed in painters clothes. The only pro: 1.) He showed up on time. read more

If I could give 0 stars, I would. Charlie Lee is one of the most disrespectful men I've ever met in my life. This business got Something splattered all over the front end of my car because they didn't cover my car when they sand washed my building. First, i was told to get my car detailed and waxed and they would compensate. Cool, sounds good. Then, I find some dude wiping my car with rags in my garage. With no warning. So I go up to MY vehicle to see what's going on. Then this guy Charlie Lee goes off on me saying it wasn't his paint and it wasn't him. When I go to explain that I've been gone for a week and that my car has been sitting there he whole time, he completely talks over me. He wouldn't allow me to explain that the splats all over my car were probably from the sand washing they did beforehand. This arrogant man refused to listen to anything I had to say. I have never, in my life, spoken to someone with so much disrespect. This man honestly does not deserve to work for this company. I am Disgusted with the service I had. In conclusion: my (less than a year old car) has been wiped down by someone who knows nothing about car paint, so there's a good chance he scratched it all up and made my paint job more vulnerable, and now that he's wiped it all off himself I will not be able to get compensated for a wax, which is clearly needed. read more

I have used this service several times in the past and they performed adequate service for a fair price. However, the last two times I used them their quality of service was significantly worse. I received a quote and after starting the job, I was told that it would be a lot more because they miscalculated. They would not return to complete the job unless they received the higher estimate. I had a tenant moving in within two days and was in a bind and forced to "finish" the job. I had my manager remove the electrical plates so they wouldn't paint over them like they did previously. There were new fixtures, sinks, kitchen cabinets, closet doors installed and they never taped anything and there was overspray everywhere. The cabinets were not opened and the doors/drawers stuck to the cabinets. Needless to say when we opened the doors, there were "paintless" frames around the door frames. After the tenant moved in, they complained about the poor painting and overspray everywhere. It seems to me there has been change over in the management or ownership of the company and they are not performing like the previous owners! Caveat emptor!! read more

I called to schedule an appointment and the man who answered was upbeat, positive, friendly and attentive. I scheduled an appointment for someone to come see what I needed painted. At the time, I only wanted one room done. This was merely a trial because I had bad luck previously, and was hesitant about hiring again. The person who came was Alex, and he arrived on time. He was prepared with a list of questions that I didn't even think of, professional and was able to give me my estimate. He was confident they could achieve exactly what I wanted and the price was much more reasonable than others businesses I had researched. I trusted Alex entirely and I'm very glad because I made that right decision. The painters arrived in a timely manner on the scheduled day. As I lounged and was very lazy, they worked hard to make my bedroom look absolutely gorgeous and far beyond perfect!! After they left, I carefully inspected the walls and was shocked to see not one little friggin' brushstroke. The paint looks like it was gently melted onto the walls giving it a perfect finish. I found Young Moon through an ad placed in the Apartment Owners Magazine, which detailed the costs for cleaning and painting for apartment units of various sizes. Based on the stated prices, I retained Young Moon to complete a paint job and a cleaning job on a 2-bed, 2-bath apartment in the Los Feliz area. Paint job pros: fast, thorough Paint job cons: Cost was 40% higher than stated price in ad Cleaning job pros: None Cleaning job cons: Visible dirt in and near closet areas; dirt streaky windows in living and dining rooms; bathroom window not cleaned at all. Price also 40% higher than stated ad price. Despite the higher-than-stated prices, I agreed to have YM do the work, for two reasons: (1) I didn't want to spend time interviewing other contractors; (2) to see what their work was like. I spoke with Robbie on the phone and told him I needed a small bedroom painted. I did not even need the ceiling painted. He said it would run approximately $200 to $225. The next day, he sends an old man who could barely speak English to see the room and give me a quote. The man quotes me $470 for this tiny job and when I tell him what Robby quoted me, he rudely says, "you want me to do job or not" and then says, "okay, how much you wanna pay". I told him to leave. The following Friday, the day of the appointment, a gentleman shows up (or so I'm told), looks through my window (again, or so I'm told) and decides he doesn't want to work on a furnished apartment. He doesn't bother to knock on my door and let me know, or come in to see the rooms in need of work (by the way, these rooms were vacant). I'm left waiting. Purchased my 2nd home as a rental property and decided to save some money by painting it myself. I didn't realize how much time and energy it took. By the end of the 1st day, I wasn't even finished with one room and much of it looked very sloppy. I looked up a few affordable painters in the area for some quotes and they all came by the next day to do estimates. A few of them smirked at my lame attempt at painting one of the rooms, but told them that's the reason I called. Between the 5 estimates, I settled on 2 as they were both in my price range. I chose Young Moon because I spoke with Robby on the phone to request the quote and he was much more personable than the other company. During our conversation, he did mention that he was a Lakers fan, so almost deducted a star for that (Let's go Celtics!). Back to the subject, I was able to schedule the painting for the same weekend and the painters showed up 10 minutes early. Very poor interior paint in Alhambra, California in 2018. Paint bleed thru the next day after painting an is still bleeding thru now after 6 months. They don't answer their phone when called and hang up while it's ringing....I think the used very cheap paint and didn't prep surface at all, just sprayed over everything. They aren't repairing the damage they did either. This is theworst case scenario in painters in the 30 years I had to use painters as a apartment manager. I was told by the woman I spoke with that while she remembered me, they were overbooked, had nothing in their calendar about the appointment, and they couldn't make it. I understand snafus. These people are schlock artists. The idea is get a vacant apartment painted in less than one day. They don't take the time to mask anything off, so I was left with paint drips on plumbing fixtures, knobs, appliances, molding, and hardwood flooring. Despite the paint slopped on doorknobs and switch plates, there were big unpainted circles around these. When requested, the painter made a halfhearted attempt at clean-up. When I called the company and complained, the painter was sent back out. He spent several more hours repainting. Not satisfactory at all. read more

We just had our 4 unit apartment building painted in Santa Monica by Young Moon Painting. We are very pleased with the job they did and their customer service. Their bid was very competitive, they used excellent quality Dunn Edwards paint and they made sure we were happy with every facet of the job. We inspected the building several times during the job and pointed out small things we wanted fixed, and they were right on it. We had a situation where a painter broke a glass window with his ladder by accident and Robbie immediately said, do what ever you need to get it fixed and deduct it from our bill. My parents had their house painted from some handy man and not only could you tell the painting itself was sloppy(crooked lines near corners) the paint started peeling after a month or so. We found Young Moon Painting on the AOA website to come help us out on a 2BR rental apartment unit that a previous tenant left in very poor shape, and having had bad experiences with painters/painting companies, I was pleasantly surprised at Robby's initial introductory phone call to set up the appointment. He was so professional, flexible and personable, I took an immediate liking to him. So-when the painter showed up next morning and I wasn't quite satisfied with his estimates and professional demeanor, I felt comfortable enough to call Robby and tell him honestly what my experience was. He sent over another painter and his wife the next day-explaining to me that they have over 25 painters and that some of them can rub people the wrong way. Now, I'm not the most patient person, I'll admit and I could've just gone on to the next painting company on the list after sending the first guy home, but Robby left such good impression on me that I wanted to give him another chance- and, Boy am I glad I did! The second painter did an absolutely phenomenal job!! He and his wife were so efficient, professional and polite, I didn't even feel the need to stay and supervise. When I came back, I also discovered they were absolutely meticulous as well. I've never seen any painter pay that much attention to the small details.
