Terrible encounter. My mom had a 10:10 appointment. We arrived at 9:55. Around 10:25, a tech took pictures of the eye. Back to the waiting room. At 1109, I asked the person at the front desk what the hold up was. He said the doctor is seeing other patients. I said our appt was 10:10. He said it's normal to have to wait at a doctor's office. Keep in mind my mom still had to see another tech before seeing the doctor. I asked why do they schedule the appointments so close together? Another person said because they go to lunch at 12. Huh? No apologies for the delay. If they approached us and said there was a delay and apologized for the delay, we may have had a different attitude. But they did not. They only got defensive. One person muttered something under her breath as she walked away, which was rude. I asked her what she said. She said "I'm not going to stand here and argue". We were not arguing. We trying to find out what the delay was and why they schedule the appointments so cost together. Needless to say, we left. This office needs to learn customer service. read more

This office is one of most busiest hours and difficult to get an appointment with one of these best specialists.. I couldn't be mo than thankful to have one of these specialists eho is going give me all these excellent treatments and help me improve my vision/. I wish they can leave more lines open for all new patients and patients to wble access and make phoen call to schedule an appointment! ;) read more

So far my experience has been terrific at this practice. Dr. Anil Vedula is a great Opthamologist. He listens and answers questions and is thorough. His staff is awesome. Each tech has always shown me respect, kept me informed of each test and how it will proceed. You feel comfortable and calm when you are there. read more

I really do not see the point in scheduling appointments at this location. You always end up there for a minimum of 2 hours!! Most of it is just waiting. My father had an appointment at 1:30pm and it's 4:10pm and we are still here!! The nurses are rude and short: they speak to the elderly as if they are all deaf and they are very impatient. I will be looking to change my fathers doctor. This place is trash!! read more

My experience at Plantation was bad, it seem as if they didn't care one bit. Every time you call, you have to leave a message unless you press the option for billing. If they give you a referral to anyone and there are issues, please don't call them. They make it too obvious that they are only in it for the money. Would never go back or send anyone there. read more

Booked an appointment for 5/17/2021 receptionist said I can have my chalazion removed no problem, she took my insurance and said I was good to go! I get to the office one of the doctors looks at my eyes, then I am told I will see my specialist soon! 2 hours go by nothing I complain another 20 minutes go by nothing finally put into the room another 20 minute wait. Dr comes in only to tell me we need to see if your insurance will approve this. why wasnt I told this before the appointment or even 2+ hours beforehand when i saw the first doctor? I was given the total run around and the employees that work there are totally incompetent. Felt like a total clown leaving that place thanks! read more

I cannot recommend Aventura Eye Specialists as I found them to be unprofessional. I went to see Dr. Anil Vedula, MD last year because after 10 years after first getting laser eye surgery (with a different doctor) my eyesight had gotten slightly worse for distance viewing. However, I was always fine seeing things up close and never needed glasses for up close viewing. I therefore consulted Dr. Vedula last year to see what could be done to improve my vision. Dr. Vedula recommended "touch up" laser surgery on my left eye only. However, this botched procedure resulted in my mismatched eyesight that I continue to experience a year after surgery. I now have to wear glasses for reading/writing which is exactly what I had hoped to avoid! Indeed, Dr. Vedula claimed I would see fine at a distance with my left eye and that my right eye would be used for seeing up close, thereby eliminating the need for glasses at work. He claimed my brain would "adjust" over a short period of time to my mismatched eyesight and that I would be fine reading/writing at work with my right eye and viewing at a distance with my left eye. However, my mismatched eyesight made it impossible for me to function at work without glasses. So overall, my experience with Dr. Vedula, MD was not good at all and I cannot recommend Dr. Vedula or Aventura Eye Specialists to anybody seeking "touch up" laser eye surgery. I would have actually given zero stars for this review but I have to choose a minimum one star rating. read more

PLEASE READ THIS REVIEW! You could end up paying a lot more than expected. I received lasik three years ago in NC. I simply needed an annual eye exam. I chose this provider as they were listed on Zoc Doc to accept my insurance (Aetna). I called the main number which directs you to their Plantation office to book an appointment. I explained my lasik surgery and that I only needed an annual eye exam. They got me in to their Jupiter office later that week. I filled out new patient paperwork upon arrival and again stated that I was there for an annual eye exam when asked "reason for visit" on the paperwork. A young guy took me back to start my exam. Everything seemed normal to me, who grew up in eye doctor's offices having severe astigmatism. The gentlemen asked me why I had come in and I again restated that I simply needed an annual eye exam. I have told various people in this practice three times now that I only needed an annual eye exam which is covered 100% by my insurance. I was checking out expecting to not pay a thing. I could tell the girl at the front wasn't sure how she was supposed to bill me. She started chatting via computer with a woman at the Plantation office who she said is an expert in insurance. She first told me I owed $357. I started to ask what I was being charged for and told her my insurance covers one eye exam a year. She proceeds to tell me that don't perform annual eye exams. I told her I had asked for that while scheduling my appointment and also put it down on the paperwork which she checked. She started to get flustered and now called the "insurance expert" in Plantation. Now the waiting area was full and she started to make it seem as though I was being uncooperative and didn't have money to pay for the services. After speaking with the "insurance expert" a while longer they told me I now owed $481. They told me that was 20% of my deductible and that they weren't actually charging me for any individual services. I was embarrassed and just wanted to get out of the office so I stupidly gave them my card. Thinking back I should have just left. To make things worse when I asked for an itemized bill they told me that would be $20. I left without it. I spoke to my insurance to confirm an annual exam was in fact covered and they checked to make sure this doctor accepted Aetna which he does. They told me the office shouldn't have charged me and should have dealt with Aetna directly for any billing. After I heard this I felt like I was going to get my money back after the claims process. I also felt like I should call the office to tell them what happened to hopefully prevent another patient from going through the same thing. When I spoke to Ashley who was the insurance expert she told me what they billed me correctly because they don't provide typical eye services and that most likely my insurance provider won't cover it as an eye exam. I told her I was frustrated because I asked for an eye exam on three occasions and then was stuck with a bill of nearly $500. She said they've run into this issue before and that she would relay the info to the other staff. Until the claim is processed she said they couldn't do anything for me. read more

Dr. Anil Vedulal is amazing! Knowledgable, nice and caring about me as a patient. His assistants were also super friendly and helpful with great advice for my stye's. He went above and beyond with a smile:) He also has an office in Adventure if that is closer to your area! read more

I visited this Plantation location yesterday & Doctor Jan & his technical team did a great job. My complaint is with a policy. If you are given a new prescription for glasses & if you don't purchase glasses directly from this company, you are charged $25 to take the prescription off the premises. They will waived the $25 fee if you travel to Adventura or Weston to purchase glasses at those locations as they do not have this service at the Plantation location. If I wanted to purchase glasses from this company I would have traveled to Weston but since I choose not to go 20 miles further than necessary to get my eye exam I had to pay the $25 fee. While in the waiting room I heard an elderly person having a similar problem & since he didn't have the necessary $25 with him, he left without his new prescription. I find this policy a ripoff since they do not even provide the service to purchase glasses at this location but charge you $25 if you don't travel to one of their other locations to do so. Being a new patient I had to fill out about 9 pages of personal information. However, one of the pages asked about my personal sexuality activity & whether I was monogamist (basically faithful to my wife) or if I was having sex with multiple people. When I asked Patty why that information was needed she simply said "I don't create the forms." I won't be back to this office. I would have given a better rating but the policies of this office are outrageous & from a business point of view are not customer sensitive. read more

I never give a review, but I've been so impressed with this office. From getting an appointment to addressing the issues, the office seems to have its act together. Dr. Jan identified my problem and took care of it in the gentlest way. So competent. And, shout outs to the technicians, especially Nicole. I have no hesitation recommending them. read more

The only reason I am giving this place a 1 is because the doctors that I have seen are wonderful. However, the staff is unknowledgeable and non caring. In order to get to the doctors you have to go through the staff and pay a fortune. I had surgery with Dr. Dan. He was wonderful. I was quoted price (horrible insurance) and they told me that was the final price with no extras. I paid that amount (almost $2,000) and then got a bill for another $1,000. They should have known I would be charged the additional 1,000. Then I had to go for a follow up and because it was a few days past 90 days, they wanted me to pay for another office visit (almost $200). That should have been taken into consideration with the appointment was made and it was their responsibility to make me aware that it had to be within 90 days. Not to mention that they called me to come in early one day and I waited 4 hours. Horrible office. read more
