Detail: We reviewed four companies in the Austin area for a fence extension and automated gate for security purposes. Absolute Fence & Gate were outstanding to work with: they came in cheaper than all other alternatives, were the most responsive with clear communication, and were very knowledgable about the options within our space. Amanda was extremely responsive and helped us scope out our initial ask to coordinate an onsite bid walk quickly and helped sort out billing. Travis helped develop our initial concept for a gate into an efficient, turn-key solution that would abide by local codes and fit within our budget. After clarifying our scope, the project was completed at a lightning pace. They staggered the required demo of our old fence until the day they'd be able to erect the fencing to minimize the amount of time our house was exposed to the street. The work crews were very professional and Travis and his team clearly explained the scope each day and progress updates. In addition, Cade and the gate operator crew were outstanding. They set up the motor and made sure all items were functional tested. They did a terrific job commissioning the equipment and explaining how to use it. The commissioning team also noted that our gate operator had a minor issue and contacted the manufacturer for a same-day under warranty solution. The level of service was outstanding, and I was very pleased to have a total turnkey solution. During the construction, Travis would check in with the teams and ensure quality work which resulted in zero punch items at final walk. Travis even performed a final QA check on the operator to make sure operation was up to their quality standard. Every team member was very knowledgeable and professional. They provided excellent advice and suggestions and helped us craft our gate idea into a solution with a terrific product!

Craig Jolicoeur was so responsive, thoughtful and meticulous that you'd think it was his own fence that was going up. He didn't waste my time like others did with endless and irrelevant questions. He was straight to the point, efficient, and always friendly. The fence and gate look terrific and my friends are delighted. Good value, too. While Absolute Fence didn't submit the cheapest quote, I knew I was getting quality materials and finish for a great price.

One was privacy, on front, ours was iron on front and it's about an acre the had to fence off on 3 sides with chain link & the other neighbor only had the posts put in because our ground apparently is not made of dirt, just rock and unlike us, that neighbor has some great carpentry skills. We also had several stone columns. The masonry guys came on the date scheduled & on time. We were amazed at how quickly they went up. Employees were very nice & gave us our privacy. No slacking off. Very respectful. It was near the holidays so it took a little while before the front went up. went But they also had to order additional parts for a change our neighbor made. They came earlier than scheduled. Those employees were also great. Never saw them even turn to look at our home as they walked back and forth through the back (our many windows have no curtains). They came on time, never saw them slack off. I don't think I even saw them leave for lunch. When they were done for the day, they cleaned up. The foreman even noticed some materials we didn't order that would help keep the fence from moving around. So it was ordered & they installed same day. Not only that, the only winter day we had in texas happened to be the last day they had to finish. He asked if they coukd work on sunday & we said of course. But he told us they might wait until winter was over, on Monday. But the next day on Sunday, when it was crazy cold, they showed up and by the end of the day they were done! Foreman came to ask if it was all good. And then they left on their merry way. Our emails with questions were answered promptly and usually the same day. The fence looked great. A couple weeks later, maybe earlier, we received another email to check in on us & find out if there was anything that we needed. Highly recommend.

Everything went fairly smoothly up until the day of the installation of my iron fence surrounding my home. A few days prior to the scheduled installation, I asked the representative if there would be someone supervising the installation who speaks fluent English. He said there wouldn't be anyone supervising because his wife was scheduled to go into labor on that day. He reassured me there would be no issues and the workers would know EXACTLY what they needed to do. I reiterated to him how important it is they install the iron fence low enough to prevent my dog from digging a hole escaping. I reluctantly agreed to proceed with the installation based on his reassurances. The day of the installation, the workers showed up at my door and the first thing one of the workers did was hand me a cell ph and someone with Northwest told me, "Can you tell them where to install the fence" I told him I already went over all this with my rep and I do not feel confident communicating with workers who do not speak English. I ended the call and immediately called the rep and told him that someone needs to get down here and communicate everything we had already went over. The rep came down and told the workers where to install everything. I asked him who I should contact at the office if there is a problem and reminded him what he told me about the workers knowing exactly what they need to do. He responded by saying, "I thought it wasn't an issue to you that they don't speak English?" This was NOT what I stated and told him I only agreed to allow the installation to proceed because of his reassurance they would not need any additional guidance during the installation. Sure enough, after they got started prepping the ground and installing the fence, the gate was being installed too high, leaving a large gap at the bottom, and I tried to communicate this with the workers with no luck. I told the workers to stop completely and, at this point, I was really starting to lose my patience. I immediately called the Northwest office and told them the fence was being installed too high from the ground and how they needed to send someone over immediately or I would be sending the workers away for the day. They sent someone down about 30 minutes later and he communicated with the workers, the proper way to install the fence. I asked the supervisor to stick around to ensure there were no more issues. They 'completed' the installation and they had forgotten to attach adhesive to the caps on the fence posts as well as failing to install the latch on the side gate. They had to return two separate times, requiring me to take time out of my day to be here, to complete the gate lock installation and attach the caps properly. I also started finding pieces of sharp metal in my lawn they failed to clean up which posed a major safety hazard for our family and dog. All of this nonsense could have been avoided if the representative assigned to my project would have scheduled the installation at a time when he could have been present to supervise and inspect the work being done by the subcontractors they hired...

Had a bad experience with this company…read more They came out for a bid, and was very prompt and professional. We decided to hire them in building a simple privacy fence for us. They gave me a start date of 5/9. A week before the install date they contacted me to let me know they had to cancel and rescheduled me for the end of the month, that was not a big deal. Then, three days ago they contact me again, saying they can install on the original date of 5/9 after all. This was still not a big deal, but I had to juggle a lot of things to include getting my wife a place to sleep as she is a night shift ER nurse so she can't sleep in the day when they work and was between her shifts. I also had to get my dogs to a kennel so they wouldn't bark at the crew all day long. I took the day off since I work 24 hour shifts so I could be there to let the crew in to get started. I also had to speak with all 5 of my neighbors I shared this fence with the make sure they where aware they would not have a fence for two days, etc. On 5/9 I got up early, and got everything ready and the wife and dogs off, and no one showed. I waited until 10am before I had to contact Brent who was unaware of the issue and advised me he didn't know why no one was there but was attempting to get a hold of the contractor who they asked to do the install. I was under the impression they had their own crews, but I guess they used a contractor this time as I assume this was a smaller project for them. By 2:30 Brent advised me that they had never been able to get a hold of the guy who was to do my install and that they could not get anyone out to me today, making my day and all my arrangements I made useless. Needless to say I was quite upset. Brent was apologetic, but didn't really have any answers nor solutions for me, just blamed this unknown contractor they somehow could never get a hold of. I had no choice but to cancel my contract and get my %50 down refunded to me The next morning Mark came to our home to give back my deposit and apologize. As angry I was about the situation I will say it was nice for them to return my money so fast. What boggled my mind was Mark's response to me when returning my check was "I wish you had told us you took the day off work". I don't know what me taking the day off of work has to do with them meeting an arranged install date, but I guess if you have a fence built by them make sure to tell them you are taking the day off of work, it will help them make the install date, or something? Overall I think Mark and his company are decent and honest people. They need to probably hire more reliable contractors if they are going to put their reputation on the line like that. I have dogs so it was extremely important to me that it get done quickly. About a month after the fence was done I started to notice that the stain was splotchy and just not holding up. There were also several cracked boards. During the time that the fence was installed and stained, it was raining A LOT. The day before they stained it rained and the day after. The rain basically washed it off in areas. I told Scott about the problem and he quickly took care of it! He came and replaced the cracked boards and re-stained the fence! If thats not great service, I don't know what is.
