I spoke at length with the Jeweler and, based on his advice, decided to try a little more stretching. In the end, we went from a 9 to 9.5 - just right! A couple weeks wait for the annealing and the ring looks like new! Great job - definitely recommend. Hint: This is a small jeweler - for more complex repairs, they send jewelery to a gold-smith that they work with. It can be a little bit of a wait but, you know it's being done by someone with DECADES of experience.
