TL;DR-he didn't schedule enough people for our move, the movers were booked for another appointment before coming to our house and were about five hours late. This resulted in having them over until midnight and coming back the following day. And, of course, he placed the entire overspend on me and my wife. We recently found a great dining room set on facebook's marketplace and were lucky enough to come across Edwin's ad at the same time. Edwin responded immediately (on a Sunday morning no less) with a quote and worked with us on a pick up/drop off arrangements. I was impressed by how carefully and professionally this large dining room set (table/chairs/hutch/buffet) was handled. All glass pieces carefully wrapped and legs removed/hutch disassembled appropriately to avoid any scratches/dings while moving. I was not there when Edwin and his crew delivered the set but my boyfriend raved about how friendly, enthusiastic and hardworking these guys were. First let me say I have used 3 other moving companies prior to my experience with "Your Top Movers", so I feel as though I know what to expect with moving companies. Edwin quoted me $250 dollars for the first two hours and $120 dollars per hour after the initial two. I was told because I was only moving next door I wouldn't need more than two hours. Edwin showed up with one extra mover. Two men in total to move my house. He didn't have any dolly's, straps or moving blankets/furniture protective equipment with him. He told me it would be an additional $75 dollars to move my washer and dryer once he showed up. He then changed that price to $125 dollars because they were "too heavy". In the meantime there was a lot of complaining about the weight of my furniture and I constantly saw him sitting on the ground. After 2 hours and 40 minutes i asked him what I owed him. He told me $545. I "zelled" him the money not even doing the addition myself. Once I realized he overcharged me, I then asked him how he came up with that price. He responded $300 for the first two hours (which I was quoted 250), 120 for an extra hour, and 125 for the washer and dryer. He sent me 50 dollars back. I also asked him to work for the last 20 minutes that he charged me for. I also noticed minor scrapes and dents in the walls going upstairs, probably because he showed up with no moving equipment. After putting my house back together I then realized my dresser was broken. The dresser was broken in the middle where it holds the drawers. Now only 2/6 drawers will slide in and out. There's also cosmetic damages to the dresser from scraping on the walls. This was a pretty expensive solid wood set from Cardis. My fiancé called Edwin Cruz to report the incident and he responded that "honest to God we didn't break it, that we didn't see him break it, and it was like that before he moved it". Edwin then hung up the phone and blocked our number. My dresser was in perfect condition prior to the move. So because we weren't babysitting this moving company we are out of the money of a dresser, which costs a lot more than the 500 dollar, 3 hour move. All in all, this was a very unprofessional experience. I would not recommend anyone use this company. read more

I hired Edwin and his crew to move us from one apartment to another within 8 miles. I started out with great expectations based on the price they gave us. At the end of the day they charged us $2,300 and had quoted us at $800.simce it ended up being so much longer than what we expected time wise we were able to be okay with the $2,300. The next day I needed them to put together my TVs and beds. They came to do this and I left the apartment for a bit. When I came back I found that the had just thrown the kitchen supplies into the cabinets, not organizing anything, and didn't put the beds together properly for a total charge of $500 for 3 hours. I even bought the guys pizza. I have been in touch several times with Edwin to fix the bed, and he has yet to arrange a time to fix them with me. Warning! Don't use this unprofessional and dishonest company! Save your money and time before you regret of using them as I wish We never hired them! the owner denied the facts and made zero effort to solve the mistake they made! He doesn't have an idea how to run a business. My husband and I hired your TOP MOVERS company in June! My husband contacted the owner and scheduled a month ahead of time. His movers got 2 hours and half late at our place! And that changed our plan entirely!! We texted him and told him the movers were late!!! But his communication was very poor! First he said we should call him in 15 minutes and then in the next texts he said they Are on their way So we never got a clear answer what was going on!! he stopped responding our calls and then finally they were 2 hours and half late! they even told us they stopped to grab coffee and that is why they were late. At the end We did not move in a same day because we reserved the elevator in our new place to load stuff that we were only allowed to use for a few hours and since the movers were late and they said it takes them 3 hours to load truck We lost the time and couldn't use elevator!!! The manager never apologized and was yelling on the phone and blaming us for the problem he and his team made!!! It was like we owed him something or we were late!!! which I never saw before a business blame customers when it's about that business own fault!!! And it made me very upset how a business is so unprofessional!! After we found we don't have time to and it's late to find another moving company so under pressure with no choice we got in agreement to move the day after! But a few hours later we canceled because we could not trust them anymore and called another moving company and thankfully they had time and sent movers next day..... we paid $50 deposit and when the movers where at house in the middle of high stress arguments , they asked us to pay $100 because they hired a truck and they don't have their own truck. we paid the money and we wanted to be done with the situation. but after they left we thought they don't deserve to get paid extra because they were late. after filing a BBB Complaint on this company they never apologized or never made an effort to refund our money in their response! He never gave an acceptable reason why his movers were late even he literally said it was not a big deal! He is not able to understand by being his movers late it changed our moving plan entirely and we didn't move the same day for no good reason! even he mentioned that he doesn't remember me as his customer But yet he continued to write as though he and his movers are the victims! I will make sure to warn friends and family to not use this unprofessional and dishonest company because nobody deserves this kind of terrible customer services. What good things can be said about this company...very unreliable...communications are lacking. We hired this company to move our items into a storage facility. We got quotes from them on a per hour rate at $179 per hr. 48 hours before the scheduled move, they contacted us and told us there would be a 2 1/2 hour charge for their time to come to our location.This was never mentioned on the first call. They would charge us for blankets to be used, shrink wrap...never mentioned in the first call And we could expect the cost to be about $2,000. ...never mentioned until 48 hours before. Of course, we couldn't cancel before it was within the 48 hours of the contract and we couldn't find another mover in this short amount of time anyway. We never signed a contract stating these costs..even when the truck arrived. We were under duress when they arrived at the storage facility and forced to pay this amount plus $90 in materials, which we only saw them use plastic bags on the mattresses. The guys who did the actual move of the items were great, but not the company. I would not recommend them to anyone unless you live in RI. When we first contacted them, we were not aware that they were from another state. We found out that day that they actually had another job at the same facility so I mentioned about Splitting the cost of travel with the other customer but they said no. We told them they were double dipping and what they were doing was unethical and they replied it wasn't. A word to the wise...get everything in writing. Overall I would say I'm satisfied with the move/movers. If there was one thing I could suggest is to have better communication, I'm still confused over some matters on the pricing. The move took longer then expected but I am satisfied, after the move Edwin contacted me and made a few things right over things that happened during the move. There was some damage to a table and a broken glass, but things happen. He compensated me after the fact and I am satisfied and would recommend again. The guys he sent out were nice/professional. They took apart my bed and reassembled it with ease, They asked where each thing went to help unpack. I would highly recommend these guys. Especially If i ever have to move again. The movers were late by an hour and at the end of an hour one of the guys calls and let me know that they have forgotten their keys in Rhode Island. My worst fear becomes reality. They decide to move stuff in a small SUV to the truck which is parked 10 min away. One guy decides to move and the other guy gets the stuff downstairs (As we had to vacate the house in the morning). He makes about 2 trips which take over 40 min each time and in the meantime, some guy is gone to get the keys from RI. I finally convince him to the return with the truck in the 3rd round (as the guy reaches the parking spot with the keys). During which we are waiting for over an hour for the truck to arrive. The move took 3 hours which would have been an hour to an hour and a half tops. During all this time I try to get in touch with Edwin multiple times but not once did he accept my call. Conveniently he picks up at the end of my 3hours to talk about the rate. They charge me for a full 4 hours (3Hours of the move and 1 hour of travel from RI). I have to convince him that the 3 hours were because of their mistake and not mine to which he finally agrees and "gives me a discount". Also, this one hour of added travel time was not specified to me while booking on which I am informed it is supposed to be by default. By the end of this I was drained out and decide to pay up. After having an issue with my moving POD (which never came), we had no idea what we were going to as it was a weekend afternoon and we had to be out of our apartment the next day. These guys are awesome. The closing date on selling our house got changed at the last minute and pretty much every other moving company said we were out of luck. Was able to hire them on short notice. They came out the same day in the evening to look at what we had, go over pricing. Excellent crew that was really hard working, we were surprised how fast they got it done. When it came to moving in to our new home one day later we had an unexpected issue that came up during the walkthrough and our closing was delayed by several hours while we negotiated with the sellers on a resolution. We had originally told them the closing was only going to take an hour and to plan on meeting us at the new property shortly after that was completed. They were very accommodating and wound up working until almost 10pm for the same rate as originally quoted. Nothing lost or broken. Had a great experience using these guys and would definitely recommend! We had to do a 2-day move with the truck stored overnight on the busiest moving day of the year in Boston (8/31-9/1), and everything went remarkably smoothly. Even booking 4 months in advance, Edwin was the only mover in town able to schedule and provide a reasonable quote to accommodate our needs (2 bedroom apartment). I requested quotes from 12 other movers, they either gave outrageous quotes or wouldn't book until much later so they could price gouge at crunch time. On both moving days, Edwin and his crew were communicative and kind. Tyrone was professional and lovely to work with- he ensured that all of our items were stored properly in the truck and organized to avoid any damage. He even noted a poorly wrapped glass-top end table and helped us repackage it to avoid mishaps. Of the 6+ times I've used movers, Tyrone is the best of the best. They're a smaller and busy crew, so it can take a minute to catch Edwin in the office, but he always got back to me by phone. Payment was simple and quick! Hired YOURTOPMOVERS to have my couch hoisted. It's my first apartment n it's been a struggle getting furniture n having it fit our stair way. I could not be happier with YTM! Edwin was very responsive over the phone after I reached out via Yelp for a quote for help unloading a 15' U-Haul truck. We arrived at our new apartment at 11:30am and YTM was scheduled to come at noon. Unfortunately the apartment was a mess and I had to reschedule the move on the fly with only 30 minutes notice. Edwin was very understanding and fit me in later that day at no extra charge. Tyrone and two other guys came at the end of the day, they were extremely professional and quick (unloaded the entire truck in less than an hour). I contacted YTM one week before my move. The owner, Edwin, returned my call in 3 minutes. After discussing the rates and determining them to be less than the others recommended on Yelp, I called back to confirm my moving date. On the day of the move the movers arrived about 15 minutes late, but it did not matter because YTM only charges you upon arrival. I scheduled a 2 hour move from a 4th floor to a 3rd floor apartment 2.5 blocks away. Two movers arrived, Tyrone and Pablo (I'm sorry if I messed one of these up, it's been weeks). We got all of my 2 bedroom apartment belongings out of the building, 2 blocks away and into my 3rd floor apt in 1 hr 45 mins. The movers worked very hard and repeatedly told me that I did not need to help them! All items arrived in great condition and even after my boyfriend left me alone with the guys to finish the move, I felt comfortable and respected. I hired this company to move for 06/01/2019 @ 11am. Sent the owner a text 3 days before to confirm appointment and he responded that I would be all set. No movers or truck showed up on time, had to call to find out what was going on. Heidi answered the phone and explained that the owner who had made the appointment had to leave town suddenly and didn't leave her w/ the appointments made for that day. She was able to get a truck to me but it arrived more than an hour late. Once the truck arrived, the movers were friendly and worked non-stop until the truck was loaded and unloaded. Review would have been 5 stars but i had to call and find out that I was not on the schedule and hope a truck was available. This was stressful and caused a delay in the rest of my move. read more

Showed up with 2 guys to move a small one room half a block to another small one room. Took over 5 hours and claimed he had 3 guys but he only came to give the other two Gatorade and a tool.
