So 20 minutes later, I'm at her place getting groomed. I was back in my car after another 20 minutes. She was fast. Which was surprising to me considering I haven't been waxed in a long time. This was my first time sugaring and it was better than I expected. Since I haven't waxed in awhile, I was pretty embarrassed. But Viktoria made me feel comfortable. This isn't a typical salon, but she keeps it clean. This is not a typical spa experience, and the location wasn't what I was expecting. Sugarland is more like going over to your girlfriend's house for some grooming help. I saw her changing her gloves when she needed to get more from the jar, so that was reassuring in terms of cleanliness. While I was changing, she already started removing the disposable liner and spraying down the table already. I was actually surprised at the smoothness of my skin afterwards. I guess I'm hooked on sugaring. It's more than I'd like to pay compared to regular waxing (eg. $50).... But I think sugaring is better for my skin. This extra month does get credited to your account, but in my situation I find this very unreasonable. I tried to cancel my appointment on the 30th. There's no way to cancel online. I called on the 30th 3 times and couldn't get an answer on the phone. I also tried calling another location that I've been using 4 times with no answer. On the 31st I called again and was able to reach someone the first try. It takes 1-3 business days to process any request that changes your membership whether you freeze or cancel. They suggested I just freeze my account and that they would try their best to get it in before I'm charged on the 3rd. I checked my email continuously the next few days to no avail. Of course, I ended up being charged on the 3rd. Disappointing as I am cancelling due to financial constraints, but I was warned it could happen so whatever. Well today on the 7th I called again to just go ahead and cancel because after consideration I really just don't want the membership anymore due to this. On the phone today I was told that "I called on the 31st, they sent out the email to freeze on the 2nd, and I was billed on the 3rd." However, I received the email to freeze on the 3rd after I was already billed. They then tell me that yes, I will have to pay for an additional month where I will be billed on the 7th of May. So basically, I'd spent a couple hours on the 30th, and most of the day the 31st, 1st, and 2nd stressing over this to only be charged for a service on the 3rd I tried to cancel, then at least freeze believing it would be easier...and now next month I'm going to have to pay an additional $79.99 for a service I don't even want. Overall the services I've received the past few months at the secondary location I'd been using primarily due to it being closer to me were nice, and I loved the staff there. The staff at this location were friendly as far as I've experienced but I've only been there twice and talked to them now twice on the phone. I do feel like it's a little overpriced for what you get, but it is still something nice to do for yourself. My low rating is purely due to the lack of leeway in their membership despite me trying to cancel since the 30th, and no one informing me of their cancellation policy until today. This should be something informed to you when you sign up.

When I tried to explain, she cut me off and bluntly said, "No, it's just a facial." To make matters worse, she denied any possibility of using the gift card for other services and falsely led me to believe a refund might be possible and stated that only the manager could speak with the number on file (my husbands). The manager later called my husband, claiming she was told that I didn't want some of the services and that we'd be charged for one due to the esthetician's waiting time. However, it seems as if the whole story wasn't informed to the manager... that I was told I was only getting a facial ( I wasn't opposed to the facial but I was under the impression I would be getting a relaxation massage with a facial but yet told "No its just a facial".) This whole ordeal was marked by miscommunication, and it's clear no one was concerned about the dismissive behavior of the receptionist. She not only interrupted me but also avoided making eye contact, focusing on her computer instead. This place is misleading, and I strongly advise against it. I'll be informing my colleagues and friends to steer clear of this location. Awful experience!

Getting back to hair, Michaela was very personable, funny, nice, and professional. The experience was nice and it feels like you're just chatting with an old friend. They also offer you and I mask type essential oil situation where you can pick different scents. After your hair is done washing you get processed and then you go back to your sitting area. It took a little bit to get my hair to the desired look but Michaela and the salon made it very easy to work with and get the results we were hoping for. I've been getting gel manicures for years and have a problem with my nails bending and cracking below the quick. They recommended dip manicure and it lasted 7 weeks without cracking. Okay, I don't type much at this point but still...amazing results. I just never thought to try dip before. I could have gone years more never realizing dip was a better option for me. Today Tai worked very hard to get me the shape I wanted. A pet peeve of mine is when my nails aren't uniformly filed. Gel or dip is going to cover some filing inconsistencies but I feel my nails hold their shape better over time when they're filed uniformly from the start. Highly recommended...all their nail techs are great.

I also had the pleasure of meeting Janell (patient coordinator) and she was nothing short of incredible, she explains everything as far as charges for the procedure and you leave with no questions. When I went in for my post op visit with Rachael everything was explained in detail and I left excited for the procedure. I accept some responsibility for not being more specific than "slight". Surgery went well, but I developed complications, including a MRSA infection that created a hole in my left breast that constantly drained fluid. I contacted the office when the incision started draining and was told the doctor was out of the country and there was no one that could help me. I had to go to an urgent care center to pack the wound and give me instruction on how to change dressings (which involved inserting gauze into the hole). I went to my own physician for wound cultures when it didn't seem to be healing..that's when the MRSA was discovered (commonly caused by lack of proper sterile techniques during surgery). I had to do dressings for over 2 months until it healed, then the breast developed tethering (some lower breast tissue sticking to upper abdomen). I had a revision for this, but that breast is even smaller due to creating a new scar and cutting away the first (and another charge for this correction).
