Years ago, Irwindale Speedway would let us bring our cars to race on the track, and it was fun and safe. I wish they still had that fun program to lets us drive our cars on their platform,. WOW!!!! WHO KNEW THIS WAS HERE in LA! What a way to spend a Sunday morning! I bought my husband a surprise gift of 20 laps and the video package for his birthday. He loves cars and what better gift is there than feeling the adrenaline rush, with your own hands on the wheel of a real NASCAR-style race car?! You Race LA was so good about keeping the secret, sending me the info and confirmations. My husband was so jazzed!! We got to the oval at Irwindale Speedway early and watched the ride- alongs intermixed between other 10 and 20-lap races before his hour instruction and safety class. They did a good job of consolidating the day to make sure everyone could get on the track before the July afternoon heat kicked in. There were drag races taking place on the other side - AMAZING! My husband had the best day EVER!! He has not stopped talking about it. My daughter and I did too! This is an amazing experience for any car lover, whether you live in the area or you're in town for a day or two. I highly recommend this experience. The operation is a class act and organized. It's clean, run well, safe, and not just for guys! Many women were driving phenoms too. Families cheering from the stands, what a nice place. My suggestion is to definitely take the insurance. At 10 laps you're just getting used to the car and the 20 lap was definitely a plus in choosing this as a gift. Come early, bring sunscreen, snacks, and a hat if you're watching, and enjoy the day. read more

I bought my husband a birthday gift of 20 laps ($199) around the Irwindale Speedway track (1/2 mile oval track). I also purchased the cockpit video beforehand (~$60). I booked the experience directly (didn't use gift certificates). There were taxes and fees--part of that was mandatory insurance, I believe. I understand that sometimes cars can have failures, or something can go wrong with the GoPro camera in the vehicle, so I was crossing my fingers the whole time that everything would go smoothly. It turned out that my husband had a fantastic time on the track. The video also turned out splendidly--although I did see a couple of cockpit videos that had some weird fringe obscuring the top part of the screen. I would've been really perturbed if that had been my husband's video, but thankfully it wasn't. He also enjoyed the mandatory driver's class beforehand--the speaker (David) was very entertaining as well as informative. The only challenge I had as a spectator was figuring out which driver was my husband. Once they're all wearing the driver's suit and helmet, they mostly look the same. He had to text me which car number he was assigned. He also had to text me when they were waiting in the wings to enter the track. Overall, a wonderful experience, and the video was something we could watch over and over again. I also took video of my husband from the stands, but the GoPro video was very clear and covered the entire experience from inside the vehicle. Finally, everyone at YouRaceLA was very nice and helpful, from the ladies and gents at the front desk to the guys helping you at the cars. read more

Absolute class acts. We arrived a bit late to our appointments, but the owner was able to fit our bachelor party into the last run of the day. She was even nice enough to allow us to order food from the on-site cafeteria after they closed. Everything was clean, and were clearly adhering to COVID-19 standards. Buyer Beware.. Poor customer service, I have 2 racing vouchers I purchased in April when they where L.A Racing that expire 4/24/2019. Now they claim its a different company and will not honor my vouchers, They wasn't even willing to talk and just flat out said "NO" They are no good and your screwed, WTF not cool. I would have been willing to get a small discount or something then book my date but he just flat out said "NO" like I was wasting his time. Same employees, Same location, Same cars, same phone# just changed their name to YouRaceLA but claims they are a completely different company. I did not get the chance to race but my review is based off the events before my race date. I was booked for August and a week before my race, I received a call letting me that my booking was cancelled. No big deal, but then when I rescheduled they notified me that I would have to pay an extra $89 for insurance. It was now mandatory and they changed their policy. So they cancelled my appointment twice, lied about the reason just to charge me $89 the following month. The insurance was only mentioned to me after the 2nd cancellation. Their policy clearly stated that the insurance was optional and they refused to honor the price/date that I booked. Very poor customer service from the rep on the phone. She directed me to speak to the director for the possibility of receiving a waiver for the insurance. Buyer beware read more

What an experience! Fun, exciting and a life-long memory fo-sho! David Brener was an amazing teacher. He was energetic, thorough, detailed, impactful and created a lot of positive mojo! At first, I did not think that the cars were that fast (until I got into one and opened her up). Holy Shi# they are extremely fast. Great experience and I can now cross that off my bucket list. Went for my husband's birthday and it was a blast! Not only was Lisa really nice in person, she also has a great response time when you try and contact them. My husband did 20 laps and said there's nothing like the energy on the track and the spotters were really involved and encouraging to get the most out of your experience. I did a drive along with Trevor and he was very nice as well, trusted him with my life and didn't regret it. If I could give this a negative 10 stars I would. It was the worst customer service ever. I had a great day planned for me and boyfriend. We were supposed to have our day at the track and then lunch. They were running 3 hours late and lied. They had said that they had to call the police because someone was driving in the opposite direction on the track. I did see an old police car on the track that had a staff worker in it. They also said that they suddenly realized in the morning that someone had stolen their power point and wouldnt be able to give us a proper class instructions. Liars, liars, liars. I pre-paid for a picture plaque and the picture taken had my eyes closed! It was so disorganized. It ruined the whole experience. Don't waste your time or money unless you believe their time is more important than yours. read more

I'm going to be as transparent as I possibly can be here. I definitely took a lot from this experience, and do have a newfound respect for NASCAR drivers and what they do. I learned a lot about the track and the way stock cars handle. I'm giving this 2 stars for a couple of reasons however. People on this page have complained about having to pay the 89 dollar insurance prior to racing. It's insurance, no one wants to pay it, I get it. I sure as hell did not want to pay full price for a stock car. My fiancé bought me the pass initially and kindly paid the insurance as well. Now I don't care about having to pay it. What really gets me is that it is not clearly advertised on their website that you will have to pay it. You have to dig into the "policies" section of the page to even see the fine print. At 400 dollars I would expect something like this to be inclusive. I am very not happy with that aspect. It is a dishonest way to run a business and it just makes it easier to bully unsuspecting customers into putting more money into the business. If insurance was so important to you and your company to preserve your vehicles, change the price online 488 to include everything and not blindside people. My last complaint comes from myself as a driver, which is where I want to be very transparent. I work in car collisions for a living. I eat, breathe and sleep car collisions. This being said, I've never driven a stock car or been on a track before. I really wanted to get a feel for this car before I get overzealous and run into the wall and pay 2500 dollars. It really took me a bit to see how the car accelerated and handled coming out of the center of the track. However the 3 others in my group were obviously more experienced on a track and were flying right as they told us to. Now I'm all for the fact that they don't want to slow down drivers that are wanting to go fast, I get it. They paid the ridiculous amount of money that we did as well. But by the time I was even comfortable to accelerate harder, I was constantly being told by the spotters to drop down to the inside line so the others could pass. I could never maintain a good pace after I got used to the car due to that. This was pretty disappointing for me. They obviously encourage single person improvement rather than the experience of the group as a whole. Overall, I learned a lot at this facility. I left with a new respect for what these racers have to endure. That's why I'm at least giving 2 stars. My issue is with the way this business model is set up, seemingly in a way to get the most out of someone with little effort on their part. read more

Surprised my bf for our 3 year anniversary & my bf was super ecstatic when he found out he was going to drive a NASCAR on a real racetrack. The staff was friendly & prompt, met the owner & he personally shook my hand to thank me for choosing YouRaceLA & made sure my bf & I enjoyed ourselves & were well taken care of.
