Went to the skate shop here to buy speed cream for our bearings which ended up being about $3 more than we could've purchased it online or even at Zumies at the Vintage Fair Mall, but we are happy to support local businesses. The man who helped us was very nice and was knowledgeable about the products being sold. He made some suggestions on purchasing new bearings on top of the speed (bearing) cream we went to buy, but other than that didn't try any hard sales tactics. They have a good selection of complete cruising longboards that I haven't seen at any other store in Modesto, but I'm more into downhill setups (even though we don't have hills around here). This place is very clean and organized. Too bad they aren't open on weekends. read more

Friendly staff, fair prices. Followed up with my custom order in a timely fashion. Made some custom bowling shirts and I am happy with how they came out. We got our names stitched on the front and heat pressed our logo on the back. On the same day I went to pick up the shirts, I made another order to heat press our logo on the front of another shirt. I have been there twice, and both times found the staff to be very helpful. I will tell you that I was totally surprised to see all the quality sports items they have there, hidden away in an unsuspecting place off 9th street. Why go to a chain store when you can probably find what you need right there, and it felt great to be supporting a local business. I suggest you go there before shopping at the chain store. I bought skates, with all the necessary elbow, knee, and hand guards. They only thing I wished they had is a giant pillow to strap to my butt. At my very senior/geezer age, probably shouldn't have, but the foolishness of youth beckons. Older? Yes. Wiser? No!!! My reason to visit yours and mines sports was because I was told they had great roller derby gear and they support the local derby teams. When I walked in they store is nice and clean. They man who helped me with picking out my gear didn't make feel like I was bother to them, but helped me find the right gear that fit. To say their customer service is lacking would be an understatement. Two associates were standing at the counter talking amongst themselves when I walked in, they both looked at me (without a word ) and then went back to their conversation. I was not acknowledged at all until I walked over to a letterman jacket rack. Finally a third associate, (still behind the counter) asked me if he could help me with something. He didn't seem to know the answers to my questions so another associate came over to help me. The quality of their jackets is subpar to their competitors. What's most important to me when making a purchase is quality & customer service; price is the least of the determining factors. So please tell me, why would I purchase a jacket from your store as opposed to one from your competitors? read more
